The snow has fallen, let the fun begin. I hope the early and heavy snowstorm before Thanksgiving didn t cause too much inconvenience for you. I will begin my ski season with a trip to Windham to pick up my pass on Black Friday and hopefully get in a free day of skiing (I write this mid November). The club trips to Winter Park and Mt. Bachelor are closed, and Mt. Snow is filled but taking a wait list. We recently announced a new Okemo outing and the Killington trip still has openings. Many thanks to Jim Gahn and his committee for a job well done. We thank Bill Ruhl of the National Winter Activity Center in Vernon, NJ for his presentation at the November 7th meeting. Upcoming events include the member meeting December 5th and a holiday get together at Umberto s December 7th. Enjoy your Holidays everyone and remember Friends don t let friends drive (or ski) drunk. It s not the destination, it s the journey. Keith R. Faucher Krfauch@optonline.net or President@HudsonValleySkiClub.org Cell 845-282-0387

Club Info 3 HVSC Logo Merchandise Stores are obviously now in full holiday advertising mode. Do you need some gift ideas? While we normally do not endorse specific businesses, here is a suggestion. Branding Pros (formerly, Embroidme), located at 2600 Rt 9 South in the Poughkeepsie Plaza, has the exclusive rights for our ski club logo. They can place it on any number of fabulous items: vests, knitwear, hoodies, fleece, T-shirts, jackets, sporting wear, mugs, hats, etc. Don t wait; if you would like to order merchandise for the Christmas it s best to order very soon. They get lots of orders for the holidays and may have a cut off date. Lift Ticket Lotto Winners Nov 7 Butternut Frank Ruggiero Catamount Mark Searle Windham Ellen Kelly Another Possible Okemo Trip The original Okemo trip planned for the weekend of January 11-14 unfortunately was canceled due to insufficient interest. The club has the opportunity to schedule a midweek trip to Okemo in March (5-7 or 12-14) with three days lift ticket and three nights lodging at a price of $553 adult and $526 senior. We also have an option to schedule for three days lift ticket and two nights lodging at a price of $458 adult and $431 senior. In order to salvage a non-refundable deposit to Okemo we must contract for this trip by November 30th, 2018. Please give this offering your consideration and RSVP to Herb Eschbach stating your willingness to sign on to this trip if it is a go. VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU SPECIFY WHETHER ONE OR THE OTHER OR BOTH OF THE DATES ABOVE ARE POSSIBLE FOR YOU. THE NUMBER OF NIGHTS LODGING AND SKIING DAYS ARE FLEXIBLE. Price for 70 + is slightly cheaper. PLEASE LET HERB KNOW As Soon as Possible if you will consider this opportunity to enjoy Okemo Mountain. Contact Herb at docherbe@optonline.net or (845) 242-6699.
