MEETING NOTES PTA General Meeting Date: May 14, 2018 Location: BSES Media Room Subject: Monthly General Meeting The meeting was called to order by Elizabeth Aviles at 6:34pm. Motion made to approve meeting notes from April 16th by Elizabeth Aviles and seconded by Aaron Copsey. Approved. Teacher Update Kindergarten Teacher Spotlight www.readyrosie.com is a good resource for the children s reading readiness Volunteer Breakfast will be on Friday at 7:30am, this will be posted onto the website Events coming up at the end of the year: Field Day will be on May 31st Classroom cash needs to be submitted by June 1st Administration Update: Principal Hahn Teacher appreciation week and the Bike Rodeo were both a success Road closure may be until the end of June Field Trip for students going to Rockburn will be on May 23rd May 24th will be the Evening of Excellence to celebrate the children and what they have accomplished Friday, May 25th will be Career Day June 4th will be the 5th graders Simulated Congressional Hearing June 19th will be the official end of the year, kids will be dismissed at 12:55pm on the18th and 19th. Construction at the RECC and Kindergarten play area, mulch was removed and replaced with rubber. New water line to be put in, and a walking path from the new apartment complex to Bellows Spring 4th grade math and 3rd grade math PARCC testing is being done this week and the following week.
President Update: Elizabeth Aviles Volunteers for Concession Stand June 1st, Carla and Heidi will be helping with this PTA Request for Funds Form Request to move June 11th meeting to June 12th, motioned by Elizabeth Aviles and seconded by Heidi Roberts. Approved Elections President- Andrea Wilds Vice President- Jessie Brady VP Fundraising- Melissa Neally VP Treasurer- Aaron Copsey Recording Secretary- Cassandra Dobbs Membership Chair- Vicky Bernal Other positions were filled as well. Still need a PTACHC Delegate, Staff Appreciation Week Chair, Restaurants Nights Chair, and Communications Chair Treasurer Update: Aaron Copsey Still under budget by about $1,000 Standing Committee Reports Teacher Appreciation Week Tindy Deel Teacher Appreciation week went very well Movie Night Jessie Brady Movie Nights with the new sound system kept them more entertained, and having coloring books in the back was helpful as well Restaurant Night Katie Sappington One more Restaurant Night in June 4th at Coal Fire After school Drama Diana Healy Annie being considered for next year s fall show Trying to get Ed the Sound Guy booked for some dates Other Updates Mayfield Middle School will be losing all of their PTA chair members and are in need of PTA members Cultural Arts act already planned for October 4th
