Neil Dougherty - Head Coach Fifth Season at Is in his fifth season in Fort Worth, where he owns a 54-78 record (.405). Hired on March 25, 2002, as s 18th head coach. Led to the 2005 National Invitation Tournament, the school s first postseason berth since 1999. The Frogs made a late-march run all the way to the NIT quarterfinals despite playing all three games on the road. It matched the furthest that a team had ever advanced in the tournament. Posted a 21-14 record in 2004-05, the 11th 20-win season in school history and the most wins for the program since 1998-99. set an all-time arena attendance record when 7,267 fans watched the Frogs play top-ranked Kansas on Dec. 1, 2003. Of Dougherty s 125 games at the helm of the program, 15 have been against top-25 teams. To compare, the Frogs played just 19 ranked teams during the entire decade of the 1990s, a span of 303 games. Helped raise money for the $6 million, 22,000-square-foot Ed & Rae Schollmaier Basketball Complex, completed in March of 2004. Led to a monumental 71-46 victory over 10th-ranked Louisville in February of 2004. It was just the fifth win over a top-10 team ever enjoyed by the program. Since the spring of 2003, 12 players have received their degrees, while three more will obtain their certificates following the 2007 spring. Spent the previous seven seasons at Kansas working as an assistant under Roy Williams.
