ABOUT THIS MEETING In June 2012, the World Football Academy (WFA) was officially founded as the overall mother organisation of the Dutch Football Academy (2009) and UK Football Academy (2011). Since 2012 the WFA has also established offices in South Africa (July 2012), Japan (December 2012) and organised events in several other countries. The mission of the WFA is to develop a global network of specialists in all football-related areas of expertise. As defined by our WFA ambassador Guus Hiddink, we would like to bring the best coaches and experts to the doorstep of not only the elite in football, but also the next generation of young coaches and staff members. To celebrate the official launch of the WFA in 2012 we brought together 60 experts from 50 different countries for the first 5-day Periodisation Expert Meeting in Amsterdam. Based on the positive feedback of all delegates we have decided to host a 5-day Periodisation Mentorship from Wed 12th Sun 16th June in Amsterdam. For this exclusive event only 50 places are available for football (conditioning) coaches from all continents. During the WFA Periodisation Mentorship Raymond Verheijen will deliver his most detailed coaching course based on his new English book Football Periodisation which will be published later this year. Stepby-step he will go through all the 15 chapters of the book which was originally published in Holland in 2009. All participants will receive a copy of this new book after publication. Each of the five days has several 45-90 min. breaks for our delegates to have the opportunity to network with other coaches. Moreover, in the evenings there will be social events, for example in relation to the Confederations Cup. I can not say thank you enough for you sharing your methodology, expertise, and experience. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of the course. You and your team delivered an extremely informative, motivating and professional experience. I am very excited about implementing the methodology with the teams I am working with this coming season. John Cone, Director of Sports Science Portland Timbers (MLS) Naturally there is time to visit the city center of Amsterdam, Friday night by group and Saturday night on an individual basis.
