ABOUT THE IOWA PGA SECTION The Iowa PGA Section is 1 of 41 sections that make up the Professional Golfers Association of America. The national body consists of over 27,000 members and apprentices. The Iowa PGA Section membership includes over 250 golf professionals employed at 123 facilities. The Iowa PGA Section is established as a non-profit association, consisting of qualified golf professionals dedicated to promoting the game of golf, elevating the image of the PGA and its members, providing educational and playing opportunities, and perpetuating employment opportunities for its members. Formed in 1936, the Iowa PGA Section enjoys a rich heritage of promoting interest, participation, and enjoyment of the game of golf. Our activities have grown to include not only professional events, but junior and amateur competitions as well. The Section is governed by a board of directors comprised of 11 Iowa PGA Section Professionals. The day to day operation of business is conducted by a staff of four employees at the Section office in Riverside, Iowa. PRIVATE FACILITY SECTION Private Facility Requirements Dress requirements for all persons on the golf course consist of clothing that is acceptable and proper at a private golf club. Shirts worn by men must have sleeves and a collar. Golfers must wear shoes designed or suitable for golf at all times on the golf course and practice areas.
