The Board of Directors and staff want to welcome all of you to our club. We want to offer any assistance we may be able John Maleno President of the Board to provide to insure your club experience meets all of your expectations. For those members that went out and found these new members we also want to thank you for your efforts. As all of you know, we have rewarded you with a fifty per cent discount on your membership dues and for that we are asking a little help from you in return. We are encouraging you to introduce your buddy to the membership, invite them to social events, make JUNE s golf schedule sure they have a game and just making sure they are taking advantage of what the club has to offer. The future success of our club is in its membership base and it is incumbent upon all of us to make sure everyone that belongs to Lake View CC can feel like they are part of an exclusive club. New members, seasoned members and all members need to come together and make this a fun place that all members can enjoy. At the Annual meeting we had much discussion on five-somes. The board wants to remind all members that this is a privilege and as such members must first request the pro before starting. The pro shop will be monitoring times to make sure we are playing in a timely manner. We also ask that when playing in a group of five that you be considerate of those behind you and allow smaller groups to play through. Again, we want all members to enjoy the Lake View experience. Looking forward to seeing you on the links! From the Pro Shop Steve Crane, Golf Professional CRANE S TIP: Posture may be the most important part of the set up. You want to be in an athletic position. Place your weight on the balls of your feet and slightly flex your knees. Start by standing straight, then bend from your belt buckle until your club touches the ground. You want a straight line up your back to your shoulders and your head. Check yourself by placing a club at the bottom of your spine to the back of your head. Avoid rounded shoulders and your head being down. In a good position, you will feel like your backside is sticking out. Next time you watching the tour players, check out their spine angle and the straight line from their spine to their head. 2010 RECIPROCALS Cart fees only (Wanaka Country Club, Orchard Park Country Club, Transit Valley Country Club). $40 including cart (The Country Club Meadville, Moon Brook Country Club, Springville Country Club). Tee times must be made by our pro shop. ETIQUETTE TIP: After play from a bunker, rake the sand as smooth as possible so the next player will have a fair lie. Place the rake outside of the bunker, and please, stomp your feet or knock the sand off your shoes so you do not track the sand onto the green. HANDICAP TIDBITS: A player s Handicap Index may be reduced when a player has a minimum of two eligible tournament score differentials that are at least 3.0 better than the player s calculated Handicap Index. RULES QUESTION Jim Mahoney Jr. chipped in. Bud Elwell is 30 feet away and needs the flag tended. Jim tends the flag and when he pulls the flag, the ball he did not remove from the hole comes out. Bud s ball hits Jim s ball and goes into the hole. What is the ruling? ANSWER: Because Jim s act was not to intentionally help or hinder Bud and also because Jim s ball was not present on the green when Bud began his stroke, there is no penalty. Bud plays his ball as it lies, which in this case is in the hole. Just a reminder... Coming Events LADIES MEMBER-MEMBER SATURDAY, JUNE 19 Two person best ball. Pick your own partner. Entry fee is $15 per person. Tee times 12:00 1:00 MEN S MEMBER-MEMBER SATURDAY & SUNDAY, JUNE 26-27 The competitive event of the year. Pick your own partner for this match play tournament.
