Friday 18th May Men's Vets (over 35) Veterans (over 35) friendly matches and warm-up at the bar for arriving teams Saturday May 19th Cernusco International Sevens - 7s Mens, Level Amateur/Social - Trophys: the sevens will be done on a Cup, Plate and Bowl competition basis Awards: Best Scoring Team, Best Defending Team, Player of the Tournament Sunday May 20th Coppa delle Alpi - 10s Mens, Level Amateur/Social - Trophys: Alps Cup Awards : Cup, Best Scoring Team, Best Defending Team, Player of the Tournament Through a strict no money prizes policy we are sure to attract players of any level who are strictly committed and able to appreciate the social part of the best sport game of the world; this does not mean that we will not be able to provide, for patrons and fans alike, the great opportunity to watch top class games of running rugby, competitively played within the unique surrounds of Cernusco. In both competitions all participating teams will play a minimum of 3 games (maximum 6).
TYPICAL AGENDA FOR THE WEEKEND Matches are pl ayed on Cernusco S/N main pitch. Our pitch is one of the best in Lombardia, wit h views over both Naviglio Martesana Canal and Lombardia s country, being 20 minutes from Milan City Centre. The pitch is next to the Clubhouse, Beer Stands and Fun Area. Friday Rugby - Is a fun day for teams arriving early because Men s Vets sides (Old as called in Italy) normally play. Kick off is at 7pm approximately and games are on till 11pm. Fun - Chances to meet other teams at the bar and warm-up for the week-end. Teams arriving early can show their capabilities as well as warming up their engines at the bar. The bar is open from early afternoon with music and fun, there will be food available from 11am onwards. Around 10pm a DJ set or live gigs are normally displayed in the Fun Area. Saturday Rugby - At 9.30 am (and that's sharp, we have many matches to schedule across the day) the first pool plays in the Senior 7 Men's. Play ends around 20.00pm, depending on number of teams entered. Fun - The bar is open all day with music and fun all day, and there will be food available from 10am onwards. Around 10pm a DJ set or live gigs are normally displayed in the Fun Area. Sunday Rugby - Kicking off at 12.00am there is the Alps Cup, a 10s tournament among teams coming from the Alpine countries: Italy, Switzerland, France, Austria, Germany, Liechtestein and the Exiles Team (an open selection/invitation to the players who are willing to partecipate to the 10s from teams playing the 7s tournament the day before which are not included in other teams rosters). Fun - The bar is open all day with music and fun, and there will be food available from 10am onwards. APPLY TO COMPETE Places are LIMITED! Places are limited because we want to have a schedule in advance in order to avoid any possible problem during the tournaments days. We will apply a strict first come first serve selection so hurry-up to secure your place at such a special event. The e-mail will contain meal vouchers, competition vouchers and details of your matches and start times. When you arrive, the team manager and/or the captains should make his way to the Cernusco RFC grounds, so that we know your team has arrived. Here you will also get your final details and be informed of any last minute match changes at the Tournament Infopoint. Camping Camping alongside the Naviglio Martesana Canal is free but you will have to bring your own camping stuff. It is possible, with very limited cost to use the organisation tents. In both cases services (toilets, showers etc) are provided by the RC Cernusco. Please see price list for details Hotels - B&B hotel accommodation starting from 30 per night per person is the best rate that hotels will agree to rugby players coming to the tournament (the hotel is just 5 minutes walking from the pitch along the Martesana Canal). The pitch and the Fun Area is into a park close to the Naviglio canal. Extensive free car parking is also available at the Club. HOW TO REACH US Cernusco is 5 km East of Milan and is very accessible by air Orio al serio international airport is only 25km, Linate is just 7 km off from our grounds and has air or train links and connections with all major Cities in Europe & Worldwide directly and via Milan any place in Europe is reacheable within hours. Air -15 minutes from Milano Linate Airport, 30 minutes from Milano (Orio al Serio) Airport and 60 minutes from Milan Malpensa Airport. Many low cost companies fly to these airports with daily flights from all over Europe (Ryanair, Easyjet and many others).
