Woodstock transit b/s. According to my research this is the 3 rd recorded perforated three pence used to prepay the rate to any BNA province and the only one on a registered cover. A key item. $3,000.00

Nice classic. $1,750.00 Item 255-03 6d on laid paper 1852, very large margined 6d on laid paper (Scott #2) tied by pen cancel on folded letter (datelined Kingston Dec 29 th 1852) entered in Millbrook UC (Durham) paying 6d double rate to Kingston (b/s). Reverse with Whitefish (Leeds 1852-1854, 2 known) and Newboro (Leeds) b/s. It is a large folded letter with content with file folds away from stamp. Ouellet novelty merchants c/c cover paying 14 triple registered letter rate to US overpaid by 1 for convenience. Slightly reduced at left. Very scarce. $750.00

Item 255-08 Postmaster business 1832, stampless folded cover from Port Joli LC (St. Jean Port Joli manuscript postmark) paid 1/1½d to Quebec (with R. Harrower postmaster initials beside Paid ). Sender requests Postmaster Harrower pay the postage and sender will reimburse him. Signed by S. Fraser. R. Harrower was the St. Jean Port Joli Postmaster from 1826 to 1832. Ex Rixon. $250.00 Presumably the earliest St. Jean Port Joli postmark (May 16, 1832) Item 255-09 1d carrier fee at Quebec (facteur) 1844, stampless folded letter from Isle Verte LC (Green Island) rated 1/6 (double 9d) collect to Quebec (b/s). Facteur 1d (mail carrier 1d in French) total 1/7. The letter is from Louis Theriault and will be translated if requested by the buyer. Ex Rixon. $150.00

Neat. $150.00 Item 255-13 3 LQ late use in period 1870, 3 LQ tied by Courtland CW split ring (Norfolk county) dated January 3, 1870 on slightly reduced cover to Brentwood Ont (b/s). Presumably one of the latest 3 Large Queen cover in period in existence and the first I have seen so close of the 3 SQ period. A key item for the specialist. $400.00

Item 255-18 Chatham Ont hand illustrated 1882, 3 SQ tied by Chatham Ont duplex cancel on lovely hand illustrated cover to Hespeler showing a girl with her doll leaning up against a table, as well as three tumblers and a mule, two of which are black. The poem reads: There was a young lady named Maud, and the sitting black man says Oh Alice an I love you so. Don t wish I was you re bean. Exciting and wonderfully executed hand illustrated cover. The clerk at Liverpool found the keyhole a bit faint and registered the letter adding a Liverpool registry label to the cover. Halifax & Yarmouth RPO, Halifax, Liverpool and Ilfracombe (b/s).
