Lakota Stallions Cheerleading Rules and Contract 1. Practices begin the third (3rd) Tuesday of July; practices are twice a week in one location for all cheerleaders. Practice times are determined by the Director and are scheduled between the hours of 6 8:30pm; there are no team practices after dark. Practices last thru the regular football season, as well as thru the playoff season with the season ending the 1 st week of November (no later than the 2 nd week of November depending on how the dates fall). Practices will usually be reduced to once per week during playoff season with an extra practice only for the week of the Super Bowl (totaling 2 practices for that week). 2. The registration fee includes: uniforms (Vest, Skirt, Bloomers, Shoes, Hair Bow, Pom Poms) and liability insurance. No uniform will be ordered until all fees are paid in full. 3. No changes or alterations to uniforms are acceptable without approval. Cheerleaders must obtain approval from the Team Coach prior to making any alterations to the uniforms. 4. It is of the Cheer Board s discretion the placement of the cheerleading squads with the football teams. 5. A cheerleader who has a sibling on one of the football or cheer teams may move up or down 2 grade levels. Siblings will need to provide a copy of their birth certificate prior to approval. 6. Absences will be excused for all school functions that are for the grade level of the cheerleader, religious functions and illness. An unexcused absence will prevent a cheerleader from cheering or performing at the following game. 7. It is mandatory for cheerleaders to attend all practices to its entirety and behave in an orderly and respectful manner.

8. Late arrival to games and practices of 15 minutes or more is considered an unexcused absence. An unexcused absence will prevent a cheerleader from cheering or performing during the 1 st and/or 2 nd quarter of the following game. 9. If a cheerleader has an emergency that will cause her to be absent from a practice or game, it is mandatory to notify your Team Coach or Assistant Coach to make timely adjustments for the team. 10. All cheerleaders must be dressed alike to cheer or to perform. No jewelry (earrings are allowed); blue jeans, skirts, dresses, or tight clothing is allowed due to safety reasons. 11. Parents are responsible for providing transportation to and from any activities involving the team. Written consent is required before any cheerleader is permitted to leave with someone other than parent/guardian. 12. There must be at least one parent or legally appointed guardian within the gate of the premises the entire time of each game or the cheerleader will not be allowed to perform on the field. This is for safety reasons. 13. All cheerleaders will be notified of cancellations due to inclement weather. All cheerleader games and practices are cancelled usually when the football games and practices are cancelled. 14. It is mandatory that parents help with the field duties during the dates and times that are specified for the team. Parents will be notified of those dates and times. 15. All parents and/or guardians must conduct themselves in a good sportsmanship like manner at all times. 16. Parent participation is greatly encouraged. Get to know your coaches. If you have any suggestions, please speak to your Head Coach.

Attendance Policy Regular attendance is critical for both the cheerleader and the squad as a whole. Many of our cheers are done in formations, if one cheerleader is missing then ALL of the cheerleaders on the squad will be affected as they will not be able to form the formation. This is very unfair to the cheerleaders who are committing their time. The following attendance procedures are firm, and should be complied with for participation in this organization. It is mandatory that cheerleaders attend all practices to its entirety. Absences will only be considered EXCUSED for the following reasons: o Illness o Death o Religious functions o Pre approved vacations o School functions that are grade appropriate for the cheerleader Tardiness will not be tolerated. Tardiness is defined as arriving at a practice or game after the specified time or leaving before the end of a practice or game. Three (3) absences or tardiness, or one (1) unexcused absence will result in the cheerleader being benched for the first half of the next scheduled game. Four (4) absences or tardiness will require being benched for an entire game. The cheerleader subject to disciplinary action must attend the game to support her team. Failure to comply could result in dismissal from the program. In the event that you will be absent the following procedure is to be used: o Call your head coach o Provide an explanation of absence Conflicts with other extra curricular activities will not be excused, please schedule accordingly so that the cheerleader is not committed to multiple activities on the same evening. When dropping off/picking up your cheerleader from a game or practice the parent is REQUIRED to sign the cheerleader in and out with the designated attendance person. This is for safety reasons; we want to ensure that our cheerleaders have gone home with the person who brought them and that they are accounted for. If you choose to not sign your child in/out this will result in an unexcused absence as we have no proof that they actually attended.
