These bets are based on a fixed odds betting market that exists in advance of an event. Normally, the event does not necessarily take place today, but it will take place some time after. We ll now look at a few of the many, many ways you can use Spread 5. Once you get the hang of it you ll come up with your own ways of using this versatile software.
Strategy 1: One Selection 1.1 Bet The Favourite Betting the favourite only in greyhound, thoroughbred and trotting races. 1.2 Most Favoured Competitor Betting the most favoured competitor for an event, say, a tennis semi-final: We ll now look at some of the numerous ways you can use 2-Selection bets.
Strategy 2: Two Selections 2.1 First Two Favourites Betting the first two favourites only in greyhound, thoroughbred and trotting races. Notice in this example the high 90% profit potential playing just two selections that, between them, account for half of the available market. 2.2 Teams and Head-to-Head Possibilities include betting on finals for tournament sports such as darts, snooker or tennis. As an alternative to betting individuals you can bet teams in tournaments such as golf, World Cup football, other football codes, Aussie Rules Football, and cricket championships. This example shows an ante post selection of two tennis players we ll call A and B for a final: As you can see, this example is a potentially profitable exercise.
2.3 Team Scores Two Selection staking is useful for team scores in, for example, football, snooker, tennis and darts. A useful way to more than double your money If you re lucky Or skilful 2.4 Scoring The First Goal Again this can be applied to numerous sports that have these betting options. Obviously your selections should be good enough to have the best possible chance of winning. Competent Tipsters and Selection Services will give you a steady stream of successful bets. This example shows a bet on two footballers to score the first goal in a football match. 2.5 Other Applications of the Two Selection Bet Following a particular horse, team or individual over two events Make a Two Selection bet after finding the best odds from various sources. Over two events you could bet on a set score for a team / individual You ll think of others
Strategy 3: Three Selections Certainly betting three selections offers greater coverage. Try to avoid selections at evens or odds on. 3.1 Cover Three Competitors In A Competition In this example three drivers are covered to win a Formula One Drivers Championship. At those odds for the three top drivers, holding about half the market between them, you could almost double your money. Crashes and upset wins excluded, of course! You could run a similar bet for the three golfers to be top of the US Money Lists. 3.2 Three Separate Teams In this example we outlay $100 on three baseball teams to win the world series. You could just as easily run similar bets for other sports. 3.3 Other Applications of the 3 Selection Bet could include: Cover three horses from a particular stable over several races Follow a specific horse, team or individual over, say, the next three events. Decide an event and then bet on a range of three scores for a team or individual
Strategy 4: Four Selections Here are just a few ideas for betting four Selections. 4.1 Cover Four Competitors In A Competition In this bet we re covering four jockeys to win the Championship Flat Jockey title. You ll find opportunities for similar bets in alternative sports. 4.2 Multi-Event Betting To Cover Four Events In the example below we have a type of multi-event betting, thus: We identify two suitable horse races We then select two horses A B from race 3 We then select two horses C D from, say, race 5 We profit if one wins. But we double our profit if we win both races. Choose runners carefully. If the odds are too low this happens: And did you notice the Advice Panel warning about Low Profit? So pick a couple of races with a relatively open price profile, and no low priced favourite.
4.3 Early-Price Betting To Build Betting Plans Here s an example of an early-price bet covering four teams. You can often get better prices very early on. Then, after a while, you can construct more bets in the same or similar events, taking advantage of the price differentials. In this way you can have several bets working together to subsidise losing bet plans with the profits. 4.4 Other Applications of the Four Selection Bet Cover four horses from a particular stable over several races Follow a specific horse, team or individual over, say, the next four events. Decide an event and then bet on a range of four scores for a team or individual
Strategy 5: Five Selections A range of ideas are presented here for betting over five Selections. 5.1 Cover Five Competitors In A Competition Let s say you ve done the form and fined it down to five runners for, say, The Melbourne Cup. There are usually over 20 runners, and the ante-post prices are usually pretty generous: 5.2 Five Players In A Final Here we are betting 100 units on five players to win a Wimbledon final. By using very early prices generated several weeks before the event we can take advantage of early generosity. This generosity in an early, unformed market is reflected in the excellent potential profit of 108%.
5.3 Predicting Scores What are you like at predicting scores in matches? One example is betting on frame results for, say, a major snooker championship. Here we are betting on five very possible frame results: Other Applications of the 5 Selection Bet Cover five horses from a particular stable over several races Follow a specific horse, team or individual over, say, the next five events. Decide an event and then bet on a range of five scores for a team or individual
