Dear Parents: I sincerely hope all the mothers reading this had a wonderful Mother s Day yesterday. There is no greater gift than our children and being a mother is a blessing beyond description. HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC SCHOOL NEWSLETTER May 9, 2016 Celebrating our Blessed Mother will be a month long event at Holy Family Catholic School. Every grade will get a chance to celebrate May Crowning with their fellow classmates in a wonderful ceremony in the cafeteria. Then, on May 13th, we will have a school-wide May Crowning celebration during the day. Details are outlined on the next page in our Calendar of Events. I hope you can all join us for this special celebration. As many of you know, at the beginning of this year 6th grade teacher, Karen Gill, 6A, decided to retire after nearly 20 years of devoted service to HFCS to enjoy some quality time with her husband and family. We are happy to announce Danielle Taylor, who certified in Language Arts among others, will replace her next year. We also want to wish 6B teacher, Sheri Hametz well, as she follows her husband with an exciting job opportunity in Viera, FL. Replacing her will be Robin LaPeters, who is fully certified with a concentration in Mathematics and Social Sciences in grades 5-9. We are fortunate that Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. LaPeters, both current teachers assistants, have accepted this responsibility. I am sure it will be an easy transition as we are fortunate they both are familiar with our school procedures and expectations. Of course, saying good bye to Mrs. McGill and Mrs. Hametz will be hard. Please take a moment to wish them well. Generations of students are indebted to their service! God bless, Sister Dorothy Sayers, M.P.F. Holy Family Catholic School Mission The mission at Holy Family Catholic School is to inspire in its students through word and example the beautiful Gospel message of Jesus Christ in a supportive and caring learning environment where each child is encouraged to strive for academic excellence and grow in faith, knowledge, and love. "Go forth and teach all nations... teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. Matthew 28: 19,20

It was a wonderful turn-out for this past weekend s first-ever Lion & Hornet Society s fundraiser. Donations for the car wash totaled $550, all of which will go toward the Holy Family Catholic School s Adopt-A-Student program. About 20 Bishop Moore HS students, who are HF alum, came out to wash cars for this good cause. Even some current HF students, who are headed to BMCHS soon, helped out too! Thanks to all!
