The FHGL is a 9-hole, Friday night, summer league, and all levels of skill are welcome and accepted. Our priorities are fun, friendship, and practice. After golf, we meet at the course restaurant for food, drinks, and laughter. We hope you ll consider joining. There s little financial risk involved for those that travel in the summer, as we have a long list of paying subs always waiting to fill in for us. ASGA is Invited to Attend the 1 st Night Party As in past years, we ll kick off the league with a 1 st Night Party at the home of Patsy McKenna. All ASGA league players, subs, and members are invited to attend. A small donation will be collected for food; BYOB. This is a great way to kick off our league and season! Join Us and Bring Your Friends We have an abundance of non-golf and golf activities throughout the year, where we can join with our fellow members for some really fun times. We all want to get to know you better, and we d love to meet your friends; they can attend two sanctioned events before joining is required. What ASGA Delivers We were looking to fill a void in our lives. We wanted to be active in a friendly social environment. We wanted to play golf, attend parties, and have a lot of fun! ASGA has fulfilled these desires for me, and I look forward to 2015, with all of the fun golf outings, social outings, and just fun times with a lot of good friends. Just look around and see the smiles, the laughter, and the engaging discussion and enjoy these special moments. What a great feeling! A recent example was the March monthly meeting at SuBu s. We had drinks in the bar, then a short meeting, followed by lots of laughs and fun discussions. Hope to see you in April! I have a dream : -); I hope you have a dream. My best to all of you! Looking forward to green fairways. See you on the tee box! ~Denny O Neill, chairman of the board 248.933.5841 dennisoneill@wowway.com FROM THE GOLF CHAIR It appears that Mother Nature may be ready to throw in the towel bring on the golf weather! Season Opener Set for May 9th The ASGA Season Opener will be held on urday, May 9, at the Salem Hills Golf Club. The flyer will come out within the next week or two, so get out those clubs and dust them off if you haven t thought about it already. It s always great to see the majority of the membership at this event. Will You Step Up? As the 2015 Golf Calendar is still a work in process and has a lot of open dates, I once again ask our members to step up and host an outing. Please let me, once again, sum up the process for hosting an outing: 1. Pick a date or two from the Golf Schedule and contact your favorite golf venue. It s typically cheaper to book tee times after 1:00 p.m. Not always a good time, but worth asking about. 2. Negotiate the best rate possible with the course. Please run all details by the Golf Chair prior to signing any contract. If a deposit is required, we can also assist with this. 3. The Golf Chair will announce the date approximately 5-6 weeks prior to event via email to the membership. BOWLERS & NON-BOWLERS NEEDED ASGA Fundraiser Special Olympics Bowl-a-Thon 11:00 a.m., urday, April 18, Drakeshire Lanes To reserve your spot on TEAM ASGA: RSVP to Patsy McKenna, 248-408-8777 Bowlers: Donation of $25; 5 bowlers per team; 3 games of nine-pin no-tap. Non-Bowlers: Attend to cheer on our team or make a contribution at our March and April monthly meetings.

4. Collect the money, designate any CTP contests, etc., and arrange pairings prior to outing date. 5. Arrange after golf dinner either at course if available or off-site. 6. Prepare simple accounting report of outing and submit to Treasurer. The Golf Chair and/or any member of the Board can help answer questions or at least point you in the right direction. So don t be shy and support our group! Also if anyone is thinking about participating in a Multi-Chapter event out of state, please let me know and I ll send a notice to the membership so that anyone else thinking about participating can share arrangements. I look forward to seeing everyone soon on the links! ~Diane Dziewicki, golf chair 248.830.7075 dziewickid@yahoo.com EUCHRE PARTY Join fellow ASGA members for a fun evening of Euchre for 12 people at the home of Fran Firek at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29. To RSVP, call Fran at 248.444.9966. FROM THE VP It was great to see a lot of faces I ve missed over the long winter at Gatsby s after the Novi Golf Show. Everyone had the same thing on their minds getting back to warm weather and GOLF. That brings us to the two most important golf events of the year coming up soon. ASGA s Season Opener and the Masters. Hope you are planning to enjoy both. Even if you ve never planned a golf event, this could be the time to jump in and do so. If you have questions, we have answers. If you have any great ideas for an outing, new location, format or whatever, we want to hear from you. I hope you participate in as many ASGA events (social and golf) as you can. We have a great group of members, and the friendships we make are the best part of the ASGA experience. See you on the first tee or sooner ~Kim McIntyre, vice president 810.772.9989 kmcintyre@jrthompson.com Thursday, April 16th Monthly Meeting and Meet & Greet Cocktails in the Bar: 6:00 p.m. Dinner & Meeting: 7:00 p.m. G. To host a social event, contact Marilyn Abray at 248.685.7039 or Carmen Meranda at 248-444-1250. ~Marilyn Abray, social chair 248.685.7039 mabray2a@aol.com Gatsby s Meet & Greet We started our golf and social year off on the right foot at the 2015 Michigan Golf Show on March 6 th. More than 20 ASGA members attended the show on Friday afternoon and then met up after at Gatsby s Bar and Grill. Great fun was had by all. Thanks to our hosts Jerry Holcomb, Andy Lauderback, Patsy McKenna, and Pam Santo. Feeling Left Out? Are You Not Receiving the Chapter Emails That Other Chapter Members Are Receiving? (There s a way to fix that.) You have to let your in-box know that an email is coming from any and all of these: MyChapter@SinglesGolf.com Newsletter@SinglesGolf.com Info@SinglesGolf.com GolfASGA@aol.com You do that by adding ALL FOUR (4) email addresses into your email account s address book. ASGA does not control what s allowed in your in-box. You do!
