August 31 st September 3 rd 2017 Marselisborg Marina Aarhus - Denmark Notice of Race The Organizing Authority is Marselisborg Sailing Club and Sailing Aarhus in conjunction with the International 12mR class association (ITAM) and the Marselisborg Marina. 1 RULES 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing, except as changed by the sailing instructions. 1.2 The applying prescriptions of the Nordic Sailing Federation and the Danish Sailing Association will be incorporated into the sailing instructions. 1.3 Appendix T Arbitration will apply. 1.4 Standard rule changes occur in some of the instructions. 2 ADVERTISING 2.1 Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority. 3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 3.1 The regatta is open for all 12mR, holding valid Measurement Certificates. The 12mR fleet will sail for Wessel & Vett Cup based on the ITMA rule, all division are eligible, and prizes will be awarded in all Division with at least 3 participants. All 12mR will also sail for the 12mR Trophy based on the Baltic Handicap system. 3.2 Eligible boats may enter by completing the entry form by June 1 st 2017. Entry forms will be available from January 18 th 2017 at www.sailing-aarhus.dk/wesselvettcup 4 FEES 4.1 Entry fees: The fee is DKK 1,100 per person (skippers, crew, spouses etc.) The fee includes access for all social activities mentioned in the schedule below as well as lunch packets on the three race days. For whom who wish to have breakfast served at the Marselisborg Sailing Club may order this separately through the entry form. The entry fee is not refundable.

The organizing committee reserves the right to conduct measurement checks before, during or after any race. 7 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The sailing instructions will be available at registration in the regatta office at the club house of the Marselisborg Sailing Club and at the official website.
8 VENUE 8.1 The regatta venue will be at the Marselisborg Marina, Marselisborg Havnevej 100, DK-8000 Aarhus C, Denmark 8.2 Race courses will be SE of Marselisborg Marina 9 THE COURSE The courses will be "Windward/Leeward courses" 10 SCORING 10.1 a) The Low-Point-Scoring-System of RRS Appendix A will apply. b) Four (4) races are required to be completed to constitute a valid championship. When 4 or more races have been completed, the worst score will be excluded. 10.2 There will be scoring based on the 12mR rule and a separate scoring based on the Baltic 12mR handicap system. The boats handicaps and the rating system will be described in a notice to the competitors that will be published on the notice board. 11 MOORING AND HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS 11.1 All yachts must be moored at the designated berths in Marselisborg Marina. Free mooring is available from August 30 st to September 4 th. 11.2 Boats shall not be hauled out during the regatta from 08.00 o clock on the first racing day until the last boat finishes the last race, except with and according to the terms of prior written permission of the organizing committee.
12 DIVING EQUIPMENT AND PLASTIC POOLS Underwater breathing apparatus and plastic pools or their equivalent shall not be used around the boats from 08:00 Hrs. on the first racing day until the last boat finishes the last race. 13 RADIO COMMUNICATION The race committee will use VHF Radio for communication to the fleet regarding the start and other race management issues. Apart from this a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones. 14 PRIZES The 12mR class will be sailing for the Alfred Benzon Trophy on scratch and the 12mR Trophy based on the Baltic Fleet handicap System. 15 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race.
