President s Message Dear Cape Fear Corvettes Members, How are Decisions made in the club? Many decisions are left up to the board to implement. The elected board is a dedicated group that volunteers much of their free time to the betterment of the club. The board is given authority through the bylaws and we are required to follow them. The board may ask for some discussion and input from the membership to help with the decision making when we think it may be useful. Motions can be made by any CFC member. Although it is a good idea to familiarize yourself with the bylaws before you make motions that are contrary to them. You may also contact one of the board members to ask their opinion as some of the decisions may effect a series of other plans. We would appreciate prior notification of your desire to make a motion to allow adequate time in our meeting agenda This may avoid a lot of wasted time. At our monthly membership meetings we allow time for a open forum and we encourage all members to use this time to bring up any suggestions they may have. In many cases this is the perfect forum for your ideas. I would also like to remind all of CFC that we strive to make decisions for the betterment of the club and the majority of our members. If you would like to be more involved with the clubs inner workings, I encourage you to run as a board member for 2017. The bylaws are available online. WWW.CapeFearCorvettes.com Richard Fox

9 th ANNUAL CORVETTE SHOW SILENT AUCTION ITEMS NEEDED It s that time again as we are working on the plans for our upcoming corvette shows and we need the help of all our members with getting donations for the silent auction. This year we are doing things a little differently. This year we would like to have about 25 to 30 high quality desirable items in the auction. We are looking for new or like new condition Corvette and automotive themed items as well as gift certificates for local golf courses, restaurants and services. We are NOT asking everyone to get some car cleaning supplies as we have in the past. What we are doing is asking that if you were going to donate some cleaning supplies to please send a check for the amount you would have spent to the club. Send your checks to our treasurer Steve Primavera, 4319 Loblolly Circle, Southport NC 28461 be sure to nark your check for the silent auction. With these funds we will purchase some nice Corvette themed items. All items must be brought to a monthly meeting or to Peter s Speed Shop monthly Cruise Night or contact Peter Ziehl to arrange to drop the items off no later than September 11 th. We have already gotten some really great items donated for the auction but I need to hear from more of our members to make this a great fund raising event. Thank you, Peter No items will be accepted the day of the Corvette Show.
