UWomenU: Name Randi Tajcnar / Queens Volleyball Hometown: Taber, Alberta Year/Program:3 rd Year / Bach. Of Education In order for Queens Volleyball to be successful this season, it was felt that Randi had to contribute differently to the team this year. This past weekend Randi showed that she was able to make the adjustment. She finished the tough two win weekend with 35 kills, 4 stuff blocks, and 11 digs. Her creativity on offence and her enthusiasm on defense were just what the Queens needed. Randi provided the spark that guided the Queens to their 2 wins. 3. Coaches Comments Rob Weddell, Queens Hockey Queens will face MacEwan Thursday night at home and Saturday afternoon in St. Albert. Queens are currently tied for first place with MRC and 3pts up on MacEwan. Craig Behan, Kings Basketball The RDC Basketball squad has started its season with a 4-0 record. This weekend they take on the number 1 team in the CCAA Mount Royal Cougars Dawn Smyth, Queens Basketball The Queens go up against Mount Royal this weekend have not seen them play, so this will be our first meeting. I expect them to be challenging with a veteran team, although with a new coach. They have done well in their first weekend of play against MHC. We looking to improve and stay competitive with them. Jerry Gerling, Queens Soccer The Queens are taking a week off and they begin the INDOOR season Monday, November 5 th. Talbot Walton, Queens Volleyball This is a weekend that the Queens have been looking forward to. Not only will it be an exciting privilege to play in front of Queen s Alumni, but the Queens will get a shot at the team that knocked them out of a Championship bid last year s Provincial Playoffs. The Kin s University College has a good portion of their team back from last year. So this match will allow the new version of Queen s Volleyball to see where they stack up against last year s competition. Look for the Queens to be strong offensively from the left side of the court, and neutralize TKUC s offense with strong serving Aaron Schulha, Kings Volleyball We are in Edmonton on Friday and home on Saturday vs. King s University College. Their record has not been strong, but we must prepare for a tough weekend and continue to build on the progress that we are making.
