Additional new business Don Grant from Richmond Curling Club said his club was concerned about the accident insurance plan and whether it would benefit his club given that they already have insurance. /Ops Chair Terry Vandale/Sco tt Braley CEO Curl BC CEO reported that at the previous day s board meeting, it had been agreed that Curl BC would provide the accident insurance policy as an option. 12,500 curlers are needed for the policy to stay at the $1/curler amount, but Curl BC would absorb the cost if fewer than that minimum signed up. Scott also pointed out that there are three broad insurance areas where curling centres might want coverage liability, property and accident. This policy was only for accidents for members while they took part in curling and would pay for things like ambulance rides. The specific details would be posted on the Curl BC website. Bruce Renwick from Chilliwack Curling Centre wanted to know if playdown berths would change. Curl BC Vice Chair Mike West, who also chairs Curl BC s competitions committee, reported that changes had been agreed for playdowns. He said a change to a prorated system based on the number of entries in a region would apply to the women s, juniors, seniors, masters and mixed events. Bruce Renwick said the changes sounded fair and equitable. Don Grant from Richmond wanted to know about demographic changes - Best Western Plus Coquitlam Inn - 2013-06-09 - Page 6
