Term 1 Week 6 Tuesday 4 March 2014 Newsletter Cherrybrook Public School Dear Parents and friends of Cherrybrook PS Movie Night P.T. Barnum the famous American entrepreneur once said 'The show must go on! Cherrybrook PS upheld this value, last Saturday evening, with a successful P&C Movie Night. Whilst waking up to cloudy and wet skies on Saturday, our hardy band of volunteers made the best out of the bad weather and presented a fabulous night. Our Food Street under the K-2 COLA had an international market feel, the two screen option under the COLA and in the hall, was a great success. Entertainment was provided by our local Irish dance group, the choir and Concert Band. Thankyou to the teachers who assisted. In many cases this was the first time many families had seen live Irish dancing. Not Good News but Great News from Cherrybrook PS In walking around and chatting to parents I got the sense of a real community activity with food being the conversation starter. It was a great opportunity to sit down and talk, laugh and see a great movie. Many thanks go to our exceptional organising committee led by Judith McGhie who tied together the herculean task of not only having a movie night, but adding food stalls and entertainment. The evening was well organised even with poor weather not stopping this event. There were many, many people who volunteered their time, effort and expertise ensuring the success of the night. Special thanks to Mr Steve, who came down from the Blue Mountains, ensuring there were enough cables and connections and Mrs Bridgwood who started at 1pm was there till the end of the night. Also a big thankyou to all the parents who assisted when they arrived easing the burden on our organising committee. This was a great fundraiser for the P&C, and our school. Once again, thankyou for supporting our P&C initiatives which will support your children and our school.
