1. Preamble Dear IUF executive members, we would like to present the proposal to host UNICON XVI on behalf of the sports club SSV-Zuffenhausen e.v. from Stuttgart. The cycle section of the club is one of the first clubs in Germany who practise unicycling according to the IUF rules. Since 1998 we organize UNICYCLE Freestyle and Racing competitions in Stuttgart- Zuffenhausen. Our first competition was the International Zuffenhäuser Meisterschaft. This competition we organized seven times and it is very popular at the unicyclists. Two times we organized the German Championships and the South German Championships. By organizing 10km races in the Zuffenhausen Forest we could get experience with trail competitions. Some of our unicyclists are world famous and very active at the UNICON. They help at competitions and at the development of the rules and standards. Stuttgart Zuffenhausen is qualified for the UNICON because of the sports facilities and the infrastructure. Unicycling has a long tradition in northern of Stuttgart and it is very popular at the people. The Sport Department of Stuttgart welcomes the event and promise full support. The BUND DEUTSCHER RADFAHRER supports the event too and promise professional and technical assistance. Since several years we are thinking about organizing UNICON in Stuttgart, but now we are sure we will succeed, because we are a great and powerful club with more then 3.500 members and a well versed board of directors. Responses to Questions from Committee 1 Why did you ask for the financial information to be kept confidential? The Italian and Korean bids have shown that information to everyone. Well, we have no problem to publish the financial information 2 Is there a limit on participants? There are concerns that freestyle hall and stadium cannot hold more than 800 people. There is no limit of participants. We plan that 800 1000 unicyclists will register and more than 2000 spectators will watch the event. More than 2500 spectators will attend the freestyle events. It is correct; the main hall Talwiesenhalle - has a capacity of only 456 seats. We know, for freestyle events we must organize another hall, like the PORSCHE ARENA in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim. There is place for 6000 spectators. Well another hall in Ludwigsburg (10 km far from Stuttgart) with a corresponding size we have already reserved. We have already reserved the hall for freestyle in Ludwigsburg. http://www.arena-ludwigsburg.de/index.php?id=152 The hall is 10 km far from Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. We will organize bus transfer from Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen to Ludwigsburg. You can travel by S-Bahn train to the hall. (The second station after Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen.) Monday I can tell you if we will get the PORSCHE ARENA in Stuttgart for UNICON16. I participate at all UNICONS since 1998 and i think this hall is one of the bests, except the Olympic hall in Tokyo in.2004. The hall in Wellington is also very proper. The stadium is no problem, during the championships bleachers for 3000 and more spectators will be installed. 3 What is the exact location for the Trials competition? How far is it from the other venues and how long will it take to get there using public transport? The location for the trial competition will be the bikepark.bad-wildberg. http://www.bikepark-bad-wildbad.de The bike park is 50 km from Stuttgart. By car you need one hour. Go-and-return will be organized (Bus shuttle). 4 What is the exact location for the Street competition? How far is it from the other venues and how long will it take to get there using public transport? The street competition will be organized in the city center of Stuttgart or in the city center of Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. From the main hall Talwiesenhalle it is about 7 km to the center of Stuttgart. With the public transport (tramway) you need 10-12 minutes.
