ORGANISERS The South Tyrol Ultra Skyrace extreme running race is held by the amateur sports club South Tyrol Ultra Skyrace in cooperation with a number of sports associations, other associations, and the Sportler companie. THE RACE The race South Tyrol Ultra Skyrace is along the Hufeisentour path in the Sarentino Alps. It passes through 18 municipalities, and has a total length of 121 Km and a difference in altitude of 7.069 metres. The starting and finish lines are in Bolzano, the capital of the province. Contestants will leave from Bolzano square on July 29, 2016 at 08:00 PM. The race South Tyrol Skyrace has a total length of 69 Km and a difference in altitude of 3.930 metres. The start is on July 30, 2016 at 7:00 a.m on the fields of Talvera in Bolzano. The finish line is also on the fields of Talvera in Bolzano. In 2016 a new race arrives, the South Tyrol Skyrace marathon. The start is on July 30, 2016 at 7:00 a.m on the fields of Talvera in Bolzano. The finish line is in Sarentino after 42,2 Km. (see the map of the circuit). CIRCUIT South Tyrol Ultraskyrace South Tyrol Skyrace South Tyrol Sky marathon 121 km und 7.554 metres 69 km und 3.930 metres 42,2 km und 2.863 metres ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Men and women may participate who have reached their 18th birthday on or before July 24, 2016 and meet the following requirements: contestants residing in Italy: must have a sports medical certificate for track and field pursuant to art. 5 of Ministerial Decree 18.02.1982. The certificate must be issued by a doctor specialising in sports medicine and must be valid on the day of the race. 3 / 14

Each contestant must be able to complete the race at his/her own risk and peril, and must self-supply part of the equipment required. The South Tyrol Ultraskyrace is run on a circuit that is very demanding at times and requires: Sure footing, freedom from dizziness, excellent psycho-physical condition, partial self-supply of equipment, and experience with extreme mountain races and a good sense of direction, and confidence in coping with night-time conditions. LIMITED NUMBER OF CONTESTANTS This race has a limited number of contestants. No more than 500 persons may participate, and the organisers reserve the right to exclude persons from participation and to vary the maximum number of contestants. If this occurs, the date of entry will be used as the criterion for determining entry. ENTRY Contestants must sign up online at www.suedtirol-ultraskyrace. it or through Datasport at www.datasport.com. Personal information will be collected by Datasport and by the organisers. Contestants may enter from January 1, 2016 to July 17, 2016. When contestants enter the South Tyrol Ultraskyrace, they implicitly accept the rules of the race. 4 / 14

WITHDRAWAL TRANSFER OF START NUMBER Generallyspeaking, the entry fee will NOT be refunded. An exception is made for athletes who cannot participate due to illness or injury, as certified by a doctor. If the circuit is shortened or the race is cancelled due to reasons beyond the organisers control, the entry fee will NOT be refunded or credited toward next year s race. Datasport Spa offers an insurance policy which may be stipulated when the contestant enrols online. With this policy, the contestant is assured that the entry fee will be refunded in case of illness or injury. Further information is available during the online entry process.the start number may be transferred to another contestant for justified reasons (illness or injury) until July 17, 2016. For the South Tyrol Ultra Skyrace, prizes will be awarded to the top ten women and men on the general standing and to the top five contestants in each of the categories and the youngest and oldest partecipants. For the South Tyrol Skyrace and the South Tyrol Skyrace marathon, prizes will be awarded to the top five women and men on the general standing and to the top five contestants in each of the categories. 5 / 14

A Finisher award will be given to all contestants who finish the race. Only contestants who cross the finish line will be listed on the standings and be officially considered as having participated in a UTMB qualifying race. The prices must be picked up within 10 days. The deposit will be collected upon delivery of the start number and refunded when the chip is returned. REFRESHMENT - SELF - SUPPLY The map of the circuit shows the locations of refreshment points. The following will be available at each refreshment point: water, energy drinks, energy bars, fruit and nuts. A hot meal (soup, pasta, risotto) will also be served at each refreshment point. The principle of partial self-supply will be followed. Contestants must have the required equipment in their possession during the race and after each refreshment point (see the Equipment section, below). The dishes offered at refreshment points must be eaten at the refreshment point; they may not be taken away. Only water for refilling CamelBak containers and canteens may be removed from refreshment points. No plastic cups are available at refreshment points. Contestants must bring their own cup or a suitable container. 6 / 14

MARKED CIRCUIT AND CHECKPOINTS Contestants must follow the established circuit, which is suitably marked. Any deviations from the circuit will result in disqualification of the contestant (see the Sanctions section, below).contestants are required to pass by various checkpoints. If a runner does not run through a checkpoint, he/she will be disqualified. EQUIPMENT When they enter the race, contestants commit themselves in writing to carrying the equipment listed below. Sanctions will be levied against contestants who fail to comply. REQUIRED: a backpack or waist-bag a mobile phone, which must be charged and kept on at all times the organisers safety numbers and emergency numbers stored in the mobile phone directory a canteen or CamelBak container cups or a container for drinking enough food to enable the contestant to reach the next refreshment point two working flashlights with extra batteries (not for South Tyrol Sky marathon) aluminium survival cover / emergency cover a whistle a first-aid kit: Sterile absorbent gauze compresses, cloth bandage, adhesive bandages, disinfectant, triangular bandage a waterproof jacket suited for use in bad weather and at high altitudes racing pants extending at least below the knee, or leg-warmers a cap, headband or other type of hat gloves warm clothes the map of the circuit/road-book or GPS emergency numbers 7 / 14

RECOMMENDED: a change of clothes sunscreen cream a knife cord SPOT CHECK The required material will be checked before the race. The organisers may require contestants to bring other equipment before the start. Spot checks to verify the equipment will be made along the circuit and at the finish line. RETURN TRANSPORTATION In the event that, for any reason, an athlete terminates the run, he/ she will generally be responsible for his/her own return transportation. The race s organisation has set up a shuttle service at strategic points. These points are marked in the map of the circuit. The shuttle service has been arranged by the race s organisation, only. Please reckon with waiting times. START NUMBERS For the South Tyrol Ultra Skyrace the start numbers will be assigned in Bolzano on July 29, 2016 from 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM. For the South Tyrol Skyrace and the South Tyrol Sky marathon the start numbers will be assigned in Bolzano on July 29, 2016 from 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM and on July 30, 2016 from 05:00 AM to 06:00 AM in Bolzano on the fields of Talvera. Each contestant will be provided with: 1 start number: one must be worn in a clearly visible position in front on the chest. The start number provides access to refreshment areas, first aid and rest points, the clothing storage area, the showers and the shuttle service. In addition to your start number, you will also be given two stickers for the runner bags (Sarentino, Pennes border crossing, and at the finish line Chip: a chip must be fastened to the wrist or ankle; it must not be carried in your backpack. Before the start of the race, contestants must go through the gates to the starting area and 8 / 14

register for the chip, which will be given to each contestant. The chip must be returned immediately after arrival at the finish line, where the deposit of 30.00 will be returned. Map of the circuit: all contestants will be given a map of the circuit that shows the locations of the refreshment and checkpoints and additional useful information. Bags: contestants will be given two bags: one for the Pennes border crossing refreshment point (or the Sarentino point in the South Tyrol Skyrace competition) and the other for the finish line. No valuables or fragile items should be left in the bags. The starting package will include two adhesive labels with the start number, which must be affixed to the bags. BRIEFING A briefing on the race South Tyrol Ultra Skyrace will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 06:00 PM in Bolzano. All contestants must attend. For the partecipants of South Tyrol Skyrace and South Tyrol Sky Marathon will be held a briefing on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 06:30 AM in the start area. ATTENDANTS Attendants are allowed, but must comply with the rules of the race and must not offer assistance that is unfair to other contestants (carrying, pulling, pushing, transporting equipment by car). Instead, they may encourage and provide moral support to contestants. If an attendant does not obey the rules and regulations of the race, the contestant will be disqualified. SAFETY AND MEDICAL CARE Assistance points connected by radio or telephone with the race stewards will be set up along the circuit. Ambulances, the civil defence service and a number of doctors will also be present on the circuit. The assistance services are required to help persons who are in trouble and to use the orga- 9 / 14

nisers resources or employ agencies hired under contract.the race judges, official doctors, auxiliary personnel, White Cross, and the official mountain rescue service are authorised to exclude from the race any contestants who are considered to be unfit. Auxiliary personnel are authorised to evacuate -with all means at their disposal - any contestants considered to be in danger. If necessary, the official mountain rescue service will be called in. It will then take charge of and employ all suitable means (including helicopters) at its disposal. The decision to call in the mountain rescue service in order to aid a person requiring assistance is exclusively left up to organisers staff. Any expenses associated with the use of these extraordinary means will be charged to the contestant receiving assistance, in accordance with applicable regulations. Contestants who see a doctor or auxiliary personnel must recognise their authority and agree to comply with their decisions. Contestants must leave the checkpoint by 30 minutes at the latest before the time limit expires. Contestants who exceed the time limit will be excluded from the race. The Besenläufer will accompany the last runners up to the next checkpoint. All contestants must follow the instructions given by the race judges. Contestants may withdraw from the race only when they are near a judge, unless they are injured or suffering from exhaustion. The judge will decide what to do and will organise transport for returning to Bolzano. Contestants wishing to with draw from the race must not ifyarace judge along the circuit or call the race stewards by phone. The organisers reserve the right to end the race or change the deadlines in case of inclement weather and/or for safety reasons. 11 / 14

INFRACTIONS AND SANCTIONS Officials along the circuit will be authorised to check whether contestants are complying with the rules. The officials are authorised to disqualify contestants immediately or to inform the jury about the infractions they observe. The jury will then levy sanctions according to the following table: INFRACTION Failure to have the required safety equipment Taking a short cut or leaving the circuit as marked Refusal to submit to a check Voluntary littering by a contestant or attendant Using a means of transport, sharing or exchanging start numbers, failing to pass a checkpoint, doping or refusal to submit to an anti - doping check, failing to help a contestant in trouble, insulting or failing to respect others, threatening members of the organisation or volunteers, unsportsmanlike conduct Start number not clearly visible Refusal to obey the instructions of the jury, an official, a doctor or an auxiliary staff member Failure to wear the electronic chip Leaving a checkpoint after the maximum time has expired Withdrawal from the race without notice Failure of the attendant to follow the rules of the race SANCTION From 2 hours to disqualification Disqualification Disqualification Disqualification Disqualification 30 minutes Disqualification At the discretion of the jury Disqualification Disqualification This list should not be considered to be complete. CHANGE OF CIRCUIT AND CANCELLATION The organisers reserve the right to change the circuit, the locations of the assistance and refreshment points, and the time limits at any time and without notice. The race may be cancelled at any time for safety reasons. The start of the race may be postponed or invalidated due to bad weather. The organisers reserve the right to modify or remove sections of the circuit as necessary. If changes are made or the race is suspended, contestants will not be entitled to a refund of the entry fee. INSURANCE The organisers will stipulate a liability insurance policy for the entire duration of the competition. Participation in the race assumes that contestants take full responsibility for their participation. Thus, if damage or other consequences are reported after the race, the contestants waive their right to take action against the organisers. 13 / 14
