Tift County Extension Phone: 229/391-7980 P O Box 7548 Fax: 229/391-7999 Tifton, GA 31793 Email: uge4277@uga.edu Date: August 4, 2014 To: Certain Agriculture Education Teachers and Extension Agents From: Ashley Davis, Chairman Ag Georgia Farm Credit Classic Fall Prospect Show Subject: Ag Georgia Farm Credit Classic Fall Prospect Steer and Heifer Show Tift County Livestock Multipurpose Building Enclosed you will find a copy of the rules and entry forms for the 2014 Ag Georgia Farm Credit Classic Fall Prospect Steer and Heifer Show. This is the same show most of you remember as the After Christmas Classic previously held in January. Again this year, Ag Georgia Farm Credit will participate as one of our major show sponsors. The addition of this sponsor allows us to make the show available to the following counties: Ben Hill, Berrien, Bleckley, Brooks, Colquitt, Cook, Crisp, Dodge, Dooly, Echols, Houston, Irwin, Lanier, Laurens, Lowndes, Macon, Peach, Pulaski, Taylor, Telfair, Tift, Turner, Wilcox, and Worth. The number of entries however will be limited to the first 125 received due to the size limitations of the show facility. This year s show will be held in Tifton at the Tift County Multipurpose Livestock Facility. All entries must be postmarked by August 27, 2013, and accompanied by a $25 per head entry fee. Those entries postmarked after August 28 st and arriving by September 4 th will be charged an entry fee of $35 per head. Check-in late entries will be accepted until 7:00pm on Friday September 5 th and the entry will be $40 if entered on check-in day. There will be no refunds of entry fees. All steers and heifers will be checked in and/or weighed between 5:00 and 7:00p.m on Friday, September 5 th. No entries will be checked in on Saturday morning. Shavings will be provided for bedding. No other bedding will be allowed in the barn. There should be plenty of electricity in the barn; however, you may bring generators if you wish. If your county or chapter has contributed or collected sponsor money in the past, please continue to do so and please mail it in with your entries. Due to the growth of the show, we will still need all funds available. Please make all entry fee and donation checks payable to Tift 4H and mail to Tift County Extension Office, PO Box 7548, Tifton, GA 31793. In the event that we exceed 125 entries, those entries that will not be accepted will be notified in advance, and entry fees will be refunded. It is our hope to be able to accommodate everyone in the future. If you have questions about the show you may contact Ashley Davis (229/391-7980). We look forward to seeing each of you September 5 & 6 in Tifton. **Special Note: This is a prospect show that is early in the season. Please make sure all calves are broke enough to come to a show. Our facility does not presently have a perimeter fence so all animals need to be manageable. Thanks, Show Management
