Instructions: Cheerleading Tryouts The 2017-2018 cheerleading tryouts will be held from April 28th May 10th. There is one week of signs ups, five days of practice, two days of interviews, and one day of tryouts. You will be trying out for the Varsity and Junior Varsity cheerleading squad of. Due to the Varsity Cheerleaders attending Nationals this year, the schedule has changed to meet the needs of the program. Within the packet that has been picked up, it includes the tryout schedule, expectations of cheerleading, permission letter for you and your parents, two teacher recommendation forms, and a verification of grade and attendance records. The instruction sheet, tryout schedule, and expectations of cheerleading letter are yours to keep. The rest of the material should be completed and turned into the secretary in the main office of your school. The last day to turn in your completed material is Friday, April 28 th. We re looking forward to meeting you on Monday, May 1 st for the first meeting and practice. J
Dear Parents, Your daughter or son has expressed their desire and interest to become a part of the Cheerleading Program. As this is an important and respectable school position, I wish to bring to your attention some of the responsibilities that one must assume in order to be a part of the Cheerleading Program. They are as follows: 1. Academics: One must have a 2.0 grade point average or above to qualify. They must maintain a 2.0 average as a member for each grading period as well. 2. Citizenship: One should conduct themselves well and be a positive representative of 3. Appearance: One should look nice and present themselves well. 4. Each cheerleader is required to attend cheer camp during the summer. 5. One must be present and on time for all assigned athletic events. If transportation is not provided for athletic events, parents will be needed to assist with transportation and supervision. 6. If any job or sport is desired or necessary, it cannot conflict with any scheduled athletic event or practice of the organization. 7. One must be self-disciplined and able to organize their time effectively. Cheerleading demands a great deal of one s extra time. 8. One must be present and on time to all scheduled practices and meetings; punctuality is essential. 9. One should be friendly, enthusiastic and willing to cooperate on any event that the organization chooses to undertake. 10. Uniforms: Each member must provide for their own uniforms. The coach must approve the style and cost of the uniform. 11. They will have an opportunity to provide half-time entertainment at home games and may choose to enter competitions.
