Dates: Monday, April 27th Wednesday, April 29th CHEER CLINIC INFORMATION: Location: LJS Cafeteria and Gym please enter through the front of the building. Times: 6:00 9:00pm please arrive by 5:30/5:45 to register, turn in forms, sign in, and receive a number. Parents may help their daughter get signed in, however are asked kindly not to stay, as we do require all the athlete s full attention and strive to provide a stress free environment for all athletes. This event is closed to the public as well. We will do our best to have everything wrapped up and everyone heading out to the parking lot by 9pm. We appreciate your patience and understanding with this process. Attire: black/white/ or grey athletic shorts (please no skirts or pants), black/white/grey shirts or tank top, athletic shoes with white socks, hair up in a ponytail or out of face, no gum, & no jewelry, designated number given at start of clinics must be on front of body and be visible. Please bring your own water bottle and small snack if needed. Ages: Any students who are interested in learning about LJS Football or Basketball Cheer for the 2015/2016 school year are invited to attend the clinics! Any students who will be in 7th or 8th grade at LJS for the upcoming school year are welcome to participate in the clinics and tryouts. Cost: $20 per athlete in order to participate and this does include an LJS Thunderhawks Spirit T shirt! Cash preferred, receipts available. Checks can be made to LJS CHEER. No credit cards will be accepted. What athletes will learn at clinics: LJS Crowd Cheer, LJS Defense and Offense Chants, LJS Kicks and Jumps, Dr. Who Dance, different elements of our school cheer program, expectations for the two different seasons, practice tumbling, spiriting, using ripples, and properly using poms. Forms you must turn in in order to participate: 6 page Ohio High School Athletic Association Physical Form (OHSAA) Injury Risk and Release Form You can find these forms on the Lakota website at www.lakotaonline.com, find Liberty Jr. under Schools, then click Athletics, click Athletic Forms on the left, and download and print those two forms. IF you already have a physical on file at your school, we still need you to get a copy and turn that in on the first day. Emergency Medical Release Forms will ONLY be collected for those that make the teams

There will be a list with each athlete's number and the order they will tryout in. Once they ve tried out, they may leave. 7th graders will go first then 8th graders. We will send emails that night letting everyone know their status after we ve compiled the teams. We appreciate your patience and understanding with this process. You will also state your preference for which team you would prefer (football, basketball, or no preference). What you will be judged on: Attitude, presence, spirit, generosity, willingness to learn and participate, chants/cheers/dances/motions/jumps/kicks/spirit/tumbling (optional)/and anything else learned while participating in LJS Cheer Clinics or Tryouts.
What is the fee if you make the team?: GENERAL TEAM AND VIP INFORMATION: All Cheer fees are $300 for the pay to play/participation fees, and you can find more information regarding this on the website under Athletics. Football cheer fees are due sometime in July/August and you will receive an update email once we have the final date. Basketball cheer fees are due sometime in October/November and you will also receive an update email after your season starts and we can give the final date. What is the difference between the two seasons?: Football cheer runs Aug. Oct. with games only once a week and practices only once a week after school starts. Girls who play basketball choose to cheer this season. Basketball cheer runs Nov. Feb. with games 3 4 days a week and practices multiple days a week. This season is much longer and requires more participation from girls throughout the season. Girls who play volleyball or fall soccer choose to cheer this season. What are some additional fees for the team?: Approximately: $150 for team uniform necessities and essentials(will keep most items purchased), $45 team fee (will discuss more at informational meetings). When and how will you know if you make the team?: ALL cheerleaders ; football, basketball, and those who do not make the team, will receive an email from the coaches on Thursday evening (April 30th) after tryouts are finished letting you know your status from tryouts. This is a new policy we are being required and encouraged to implement through our Athletic Department. Coaches will be available for meetings regarding tryout questions and/or concerns with an appointment through the school only. Please make sure you have a valid email address on file with the coaches. When is your informational meeting if you make the team? All football cheerleaders ( 7 th & 8 th grade) will have a mandatory informational meeting the day following tryouts, Friday, May 1st from 6:00 8:30pm and all football cheerleaders who make the teams are required to attend this meeting with at least one parent present. We will be doing uniform, bodysuit, and shoes fittings with our Varsity Rep. All basketball cheerleaders (7 th & 8 th grade) will have their informational meeting sometime in Late October. Practices for basketball season will start in November.
