Dear Parents/Guardians: Wasatch Ski and Snowboard Club 2017 The Sundance Ski and Snowboard School Program starts Friday, January 05, 2018. This year the program will consist of 5 consecutive weeks, and will run Friday January 5 th, 12 th, 19 th, 26 th, and February 2 nd. The cost of the five-week session is $295 for non-season pass holders, $245 for season pass holders (includes lift ticket, ski lessons and bus transportation to and from Sundance). Spots do fill quickly & applications are accepted on a first-come first-serve basis. To secure your child s spot their application, the following must be turned in at the office. Ski checks will be deposited after January 1, 2018. 1. Digital Sundance Liability Waiver: Fill out the digital liability waiver from Sundance Ski School (see attached link). This is new this year! After you have filled it out online, print a copy and include it in the packet you turn in to the office. 2. Permission Forms: There are three additional permission forms: Winter ski/snowboard program form, PAWS release form, and the Provo School District form. Please include telephone numbers where you can be reached during the ski time. 3. Check made out to PAWS: Please make checks payable to PAWS for either $295 or $245. Applications are due no later than Tuesday, November 21, 2017 (a $25 late fee will be assessed after this date). Dates of program: January 5th, 12 th, 19 th, 26 th, and February 2 nd. Time: The bus will leave Wasatch at 12:30 PM and arrive at Sundance around 1:00 PM. If your child is not on the bus by 12:30, we will assume they are not participating that day. Lessons start promptly at 1:30 and will last until 4:00. Free time will be from 4:00 4:30 and children are encouraged to ski with friends during this time. There is no instructor supervision during free time. We plan on arriving back at Wasatch around 5:15 (weather and roads permitting). Please plan on picking up your child promptly. Equipment: Please be sure to label all your child's equipment (masking or painter s tape with their name on it works fine). All the rentals look the same and there is confusion when they are not labeled properly. If needed, you can rent a helmet from Sundance for $5/week. Also, please make sure skis and poles are securely tied together. It is much easier for your child to locate their own equipment at Sundance and back at Wasatch when it is labeled and tied together. Skis and poles and snowboards should be placed in the ski closet (south/west corner of Wasatch) before 9:00 AM on each ski day. Personal bags and boots should be taken to their classroom. Bags: Nothing can be left on the bus and there is no space available at Sundance for storing bags, etc. Locker rentals are available if needed. School backpacks can be kept in our ski closet. Sundance Rules: Sundance has informed us that there will be no make-up lessons and no refunds offered after the first week. Sundance rules state that snowboarders MUST be at least nine
years old / skiers MUST be at least eight years old to participate. Helmets are suggested but not required. Bus Riders ONLY: In the past we have had some parents drive their child up to Sundance to participate in the program. This year Sundance has mandated that ALL students must have a spot on the bus to participate in the program. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns at wasatchskischool@gmail.com. We look forward to a great season filled with wonderful snow!
