COMPETITION Admissibility All dancers must be amateurs. Age Age is calculated as of December 31st, 2017 The age of each group is calculated by average and rounded up if there is a decimal. Classification (age divisions) Novice (not admissible for the showcase) Intermediate Competitive 6-9 years 6-9 years 6-9 years 10-12 years 10-12 years 10-12 years 13-16 years 13-16 years 13-16 years 17+ years 17+ years 17+ years --- Adult : 30 years + --- Novice : Intermediate : Competitive : A dancer who trains less than 3 hours/week A dancer who trains between 3 and 7 hours/week A dancer who trains more than 7 hours/week and any teacher who teaches intermediate or advanced classes. For every 5 seconds that exceeds the alotted time per group, 1 point will be deducted from the total score. Groups will be separated into the following categories for the Showcase : Classical Ballet Jazz/Lyrical Hip Hop Contemporary/Neo-Classical Acro-Dance/Open Accessoires & Props Accessories are permitted. If a prop or accessory is large in scale, it must be approved by Bravissimo. Registration Deadline The deadline to register is February 18, 2018. IMPORTANT IMPORTANT IMPORTANT Should there be a large volume of registrations, the above mentioned registration deadline may be pushed forward. Please do not wait to register your routine/s! Scoring All competitors will be judged by a minimum of 3 qualified professionals in their respective field. The judges decisions are final. It is prohibited to interact with the judges during the competition.
AWARDS & CASH PRIZES SOLO-DUO-TRIO Step 1 : Each group will receive an individual score/placement according to their total score. Step 2 : First, second and third place will be awarded in each category (style, age, group). Step 3 : The total high scores for the solo/duo/trio categories (all styles combined) will be awarded a cash prize. AWARDS & CASH PRIZES SMALL GROUP / LARGE GROUP / PRODUCTION Step 1 : Each group will receive an individual placement according to their total score. Judges will present special awards to their favorite costumes, performance, etc Step 2 : First, second and third place will be awarded in each category (style, age, group). Step 3 : The top scoring small groups, large groups and productions (pre-competitive and competitive categories) will be invited to present their routine at the SHOWCASE. If the top scoring group cannot perform at the showcase, the second highest scoring routine will be invited in their place. Step 4 The Showcase : The top scoring routines in each age and style category will perform for a 2 nd time for a chance to win first place overall and a cash prize. A team of judges will evaluate all routines in the showcase. The group with the highest overall score (by age group) will receive a cash prize.

Competition Fees Taxes are included in all prices. Each price is per dancer, per routine. IMPORTANT IMPORTANT - IMPORTANT Registration closes February 18th. No more routines can be registered. (Registration may close before March 18th if the competition is sold out) No changes can be made to your registration as of February 18th, 2018 (ie : title, order, category ).
HOW TO REGISTER Registration starts on September 1st, 2017. 1- Go to our website : bravissimo.ca 2- Roll your mouse over your city of competition an click on registration 3- Once your registration is competed, you will be sent an invoice 4- Payment must be made within 15 days of your registration Once your payment is made, SORRY NO REFUNDS; One payment per school will be accepted. (no individual payments from parents, students, choreographers will be accepted) Method of payment : - Cheque (made to the order of Bravissimo. Please mail to : 2997 Ste-Marie, Mascouche, J7K 1N9) - Accès D (please contact with us for information about this process) - Visa or Master Card (by telephone only) A 25$ fee will be added to any bounced cheque regardless of the reason. Audience Fees Day of the competition Saturday & Sunday: 8$/day (tickets sold the day of the event) 5 years + under: free (proof of age may be requested) Free for the dancers registered in the competition. (if the dancers name is on our registration lists) Free for the director and/or choreographer for any piece entered in the competition. (if the dancers name is on our registration lists) SHOWCASE Information to come. Schedule The schedule for your Bravissimo competition will be sent to the director approximately 6 weeks before the event.
General Rules It is strictly prohibited to smoke, drink or eat in the competition area. Upon registration, all participants agree to allow Bravissimo to use their likeness for their promotional photos or videos. All film and camera equipment used by anyone other than authorized Bravissimo personnel is prohibited. All cell phones or gadgets that make noise must be turned off or on vibrate during the competition. Competing dancers are prohibited from warming up or rehearsing in the competition area. Politeness and overall respect is expected towards all Bravissimo personnel, spectators and other competitors. All those who fail to respect this guideline will be disqualified or can face grave consequences within the parameters their dance schools. Bravissimo is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Dancers must keep their dressing rooms tidy. Judges rulings are final. No knives, swords or pyrotechnic equipment is allowed. Resin is prohibited. All pieces will have neutral stage lighting for their pieces. Any piece deemed inappropriate for an all ages audience (music, costumes, choreography) will automatically be disqualified.
