Outputs for the Model MG include Modbus, FOUNDATION fieldbus, and DDA (a proprietary ASCII protocol). Modbus and DDA outputs are communicated via a -wire multi-drop power and data bus (EIA 8), whereas FOUNDATION fieldbus has a specified -wire bus. Utilizing the bus networks eliminates the requirements for individual cable runs from each tank and these three data formats provide a direct interface to most types of computers and digital communication equipment. The Model MG provides -in-1 sensing through one process opening of the product level, the interface level, and temperature. The Modbus and FOUNDATION fieldbus output also allow the user to measure volume from a 100 point strap table with the option for temperature correction. Once the transmitter is installed and calibrated there is no requirement for scheduled maintenance or recalibration. Set it and forget it! Interface and enclosure options MTS DDA protocol MTS DDA proprietary protocol IS developed for use in intrinsically safe areas. The M-Series Model MG transmitter is backwards compatible with existing IS installations of D8/D9 and LDF MTS sensors, as long as the total number of transmitters does not exceed 8 per monitor. The DDA protocol allows the transmitter to be in a low power or idle mode while not pro cessing commands. This protocol allows for level, interface and temperature data to be output from the transmitter. Modbus RTU protocol The Modbus RTU protocol is available for use in explosion-proof areas and allows the M-Series Model MG transmitter to communicate level, temperature and volume information directly from the transmitter head. foundation fieldbus PROTOCOL FOUNDATION fieldbus H1 is intended primarily for process control, field-level interface and device integration. Running at 1. kbit/s, the technology interconnects field networked devices such as transmitters and actuators. FOUNDATION fieldbus H1 is designed to support intrinsically safe (I.S.) applications and operate on an existing twisted pair instrument cabling with power and signal on the same wire. enclosure options Note: Drawings are for reference only.
