TrackStats: Rebooted Flat Handicaps and Handicappers to Follow Gavin Priestley
TTS Rebooted TTS has been the leading statistical analysis of racehorse trainer patterns for nearly a decade now and to help keep us at the top and continue beating the bookmakers we have introduced some new features for this Summer's Guide. We're sticking with the basic idea behind all TTS Guides i.e. that certain trainers target specific types of races at certain race tracks, but have changed a few key elements which we hope will make TTS even more profitable and easier for our subscribers to use. So 'What's New?' The main change to the TTS Guide for this Summer is that we're going to concentrate solely on the Handicap races. Also, we're going to look away from the major tracks to focus on the smaller courses as we feel this is where trainers are better able to target a specific type of race. I mean, it's doubtful any trainer is really able to successfully lay one out for one of those mid-summer runner handicaps at Ascot or Newmarket year in, year out! This new approach will allow us to really hone in on the trainers who have consistently won handicaps at certain tracks over the last few years. And, rather than trying to find a less than satisfactory trainer just to add a particular track to the roster, this Season, we're only interested in the 'cream of the crop'. Any tracks that didn't produce a suitable /Track combination have been dropped meaning not every course will be represented. By selecting only the best of our researched systems we have cut down on the number of trainer/track combinations in this year's Flat Guide meaning a more streamline guide that should hopefully translate to an increase in our win strike rate and, of course, our profit figures. For this Summer we have narrowed it down to excellent TTS combinations from some well established yards along with less well known trainers who are just beginning to make a name for themselves. All TTS combinations would have been extremely profitable to follow over the last Seasons and are spread right across the lower end of the UK horse racing spectrum. The % ratings/rankings We have rated our trainers and their respective track system by a % rating depending on how well each trainer track system fares against the top scores. We think this scoring system will make it easier to see how each TTS System is likely to perform. Though TTS will track results using a level stakes for each runner some subscribers make like to vary their stakes according to how well each trainer/track combination is rated. To work out each trainers % rating for the track I took the highest figure for each of these five sections: Number of winners rate Profit figure Profit per runner. Number of years a profit was shown. I then worked out the relevant % for each each of the trainer/track system in relation to this top figure, added them together and then divided by.
