All youth 14 years of age and older are encouraged to complete a state record book. The cost is $125. The program is designed for 4-H members 13 and older, 4-H Volunteers and Extension Educators. Objectives: Gain understanding of basic textiles, drawing for fashion and interiors, and design thinking Complete activities related to apparel design, interior design, and fashion merchandising Explore current events and new technologies in apparel design, interior design, and merchandising Understand careers in apparel design and production, interior design, and fashion merchandising Experience the atmosphere of learning at the university Interact with apparel design, interior design and fashion merchandising industry professionals. Comanche County Fashion Revue, Impressive Dress Job Readiness County Officer Interviews! When: April 22nd 9:00 am Where: First Baptist Fletcher, OK Fashion Revue opportunity for youth to make clothing or miscellaneous items that meet particular skill and age appropriate guidelines. Skill Sheets can be found at www.4h.okstate.edu Click on Literature & Links/OK 4-H Literature Online/Family & Consumer Science/Design & Construction (scroll to bottom of page)/skills Mastery Sheet. Impressive Dress allows youth to wear an outfit that has been purchased or that they have chosen from their closet and share information/knowledge about the outfit. There are different categories that can be entered for the type of clothing a 4-H er chooses to present. These events are fantastic for any and all cloverbuds, as well as members. Please submit entries for Fashion Revue and Impressive Dress to the Extension Office by 4:30pm on Wednesday, April 12th. More information on these events can be obtained from the Extension Office or the Comanche County website. Job Readiness a great tool that offers interactive career preparation for the future. This contest provides the opportunity to complete a resume, research job opportunities, complete a letter of application, complete an application, and participate in an interview. There are a set of forms that must be completed prior to the interview. This activity is open to any 4-H er who is 13 years of age or older as of January 1 st, 2017. The top two individuals in the job readiness contest will represent Comanche County at the state contest during Sr. 4-H Roundup. The materials for this event can be obtained from the Extension Office or the website. Each participant for job readiness must submit a folder containing their materials prior to the contest. This folder is due by the registration deadline, Wednesday, April 12th. BECOME A COUNTY OFFICER! It is the time of year to consider serving as a county officer. This is a great opportunity to gain more leadership experience and be involved in county events. However, being a county officer does require a time commitment to 4-H and being a dependable individual. Please keep in mind that to be President, Vice President, or Secretary, you must have completed the 9 th grade. You must submit the 2017-2018 County Officer Candidate Application as your official intent -to-run to Carol at the Extension Office by Wednesday, April 12th to become a candidate. All individuals planning to run for an office must also be interviewed by an adult panel. Interviews will be held in conjunction with the Fashion Revue, Impressive Dress, and Job Readiness contest on Saturday, April 22nd. County officer elections (popular vote) will be held in May.
