SEMINOLE INDIAN BASKETBALL MISSION STATEMENT As we work toward being successful on the court, we will not lose sight of the important task we have in developing the character of our players. Basketball is the vehicle we use to help our players become be<er, more produc=ve, and stronger young men. If our team is successful we will develop the following a<ributes in our players: Self-Discipline Work Ethic Teamwork Respect Pride
Mission Statement We will watch for teachable moments with our players. Use our =me with our players to help them learn life lessons along with basketball skills. We recognize and respect that we will spend almost as much =me with these young men as their parents will. We believe it is vital for us to be a posi=ve role model while helping them to learn the importance and responsibility that comes with being part of a team. We will remember: 1. Our success is not measured in wins and losses but in the quality of individuals our program produces. 2. Accountability to everyone within our program to be dedicated to one another on and off the court. 3. Our students will always remember what they see, more than what they hear. Our example is important.
Football Playoffs and Basketball Try-Outs Try-outs will be a couple of days only. Some that are on a team now, may get cut. We will not penalize kids for playing other sports or activities. JV Black JV Gold Due to playoffs for football and late start, we are not having a true Freshmen team.

For Your Information Just because your kid came to every camp or summer game does NOT mean your kid will play or even make a team. Nobody OWES you and your child anything except a try-out. Just because your kid played on a team last year does NOT mean he will make a team this year. Basketball never stops. Everyone should be working on their game beyond playing officiated games. Working to improve and doing extra work on individual skills is vital for improvement, but it does NOT guarantee playing Eme or even a spot on a team. Your kid will be put on the team that is going to help benefit OUR PROGRAM FIRST, and THE INDIVIDUAL PLAYER SECOND. Some kids work their whole life, do all that is asked and put in the extra Eme and sell not get to play or make a team. No guarantees! Playing basketball is a privilege and not a right!
