PURPOSE: The Sr. Elite and Jr. Elite competitions will name Regional Champions in all disciplines. This competition will prepare our athletes for competition at national and international events. The Jr. Olympic Regional Championships (Levels 1-10) will name Regional Champions in age groups for all disciplines (synchronized trampoline, Level 9 & 10). This will also serve as the second and final opportunity to qualify for the National Championships that will be held in Kansas City, KS. We will also name the levels 9 and 10 Regional All Star Team that will represent our region at the regional face off at the National Championships in Kansas City. 3

If an age or gender is listed incorrectly there will be $10 per event charge. All athletes registered with USA Gymnastics as an athlete member are eligible to compete at the Regional Championships. Please note that all non-u.s. citizens must declare their citizenship prior to competition. USAG Trampoline and Tumbling rules from the current 2013 Code of Points along with all errata pages (posted on USAG website) will be used. Please note that there will be no finals for levels 1 10. All age groups are based on the age of the competitor on December 31, 2013. Only coaches who have a minimum of a level one coaching certification and current USAG Pro or Jr. Pro membership will be issued credentials. Note: Please read the dress code in the code of points. This dress code for coaches and judges will be strictly enforced. Teams will be allowed one coach for every 5 athletes registered with no more than 3 coaches per team. (5 or less athletes 1 coach, 6 to 10 athletes 2 coaches 11 or more 3 coaches). VOLUNTEERS: ATHLETE BIOS: JUDGES: HOSPITALITY: We need your help with volunteers for this competition. We greatly appreciate all your help. This meet would not be possible without the help of volunteers. Thank you in advance for your assistance. All volunteers will be given a hand stamp that will allow them access into the competition for that day. All teams will be assigned a time to provided one spotter. You must provide a spotter or pay a $50 fee in order to hire a spotter for that session. Each team who has Jr. & Sr. Elite competitors will need to fill out the athlete bio form on the region 3 website and attach a current head shot photograph. We are working on getting some much-needed press for our sport and this event. We would like to provide some information about each athlete in a press packet, so that they can promote this event with the press in Fort Worth. Only judges who have met yearly certification requirements and have a current USAG Pro or Jr Pro membership, and are currently registered with the USAG Trampoline and Tumbling Judges organization will be used to seat panels. Ratings and availability will determine contracts for the Region 3 championships and Elite Challenge. Judges must have previously judged at a minimum of 3 sanctioned competitions prior to regional championships. Judging questionnaires must be mailed or faxed to Patti Conner by April 3, 2013 This year we will be using the Convention Center for the hospitality room. As a results limited meals will be provided this year. Since they must abide by the health department standards we are not able to leave food out for an extended period of time. A meal schedule will be sent out once the competition schedule is set. Your credential will have a meal voucher included. There will be no snacks or drinks provided between meals, so please be sure you find time to eat during the specified times. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. 5

Parent Information Dear Parents, We are excited about the 2013 Region 3 Championships. We hope that this will truly be one of the most memorable experiences of your child s tumbling and trampoline career. Here are a few suggestions that may help you have a positive experience as well. ENTRY Your entry must be returned to your coach no later than: DEADLINE: ENTRY FEE: LEVELS 1 Sr. Elite First event Each additional event $75.00 $15.00 These fees are considerably more than what you are accustomed to in your area. Please remember that this is a huge event, it will be very similar to a National Championship and it takes the bulk of this entry fee to host a competition of this magnitude. Any overage will be used to benefit the athletes of Region 3 in clinics, regional events, scholarships and International travel etc. VENUE: Fort Worth Convention Center 1201 Houston St. Fort Worth, TX 76102 Commerce Street parking garage $10 per visit. Parking on the street FREE Houston Street parking garage hourly rate starting at $2 SCHEDULE: Level 8-Sr Elite training will be Friday morning. We will use the block schedule for all events during the week. This schedule gives you an exact time for each event your child will be competing in. Feel free to leave the arena between events. Be sure to be back in 1
the arena at least 45 minutes prior to the scheduled time. Due to the massive numbers in some ages groups it may be necessary to schedule some ages on more than one day, this helps to eliminate athletes that might crossover between two events. We want to provide the best competition opportunity for each athlete with no rushing or trying to be in two places at once. A detailed schedule will be sent to your gym no later than April 23, 2013. Some level 8-9 and all level 10 - Sr. Elite competition will be on Friday, and all Levels 1-7 and the remaining level 8 &9 s will compete on Saturday. The score for each competitor will be flashed on a screen at each equipment station. There will also be final score sheets posted in the lobby at the entrance of the venue. Be sure to pick up a color coded wristband if your child is in the top ten. This will ensure that we recognize your child as an award winner when staging for awards. There will be a program available. If you would like to purchase a Good Luck ad for your child or team, please see your head coach today. All teams and athletes entered by the deadline will be listed in the program. There will be a gate fee of $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children, 7 to 17 yr old, 6 & under are free. Athletes in uniform will be admitted for FREE if they present their athlete pass. These may be obtained from their team coach. In order to help make this, a quality competition it will take all of us working together. If you would like to volunteer for a single session or all day we would love to have you. Check with your coach and sign up on the volunteer form. All volunteers will receive a hand-stamp for their admission the day they volunteer and a free T-Shirt if you preregister as a volunteer Each child will receive a flight award immediately following their flight competition. The top ten in each age group and ability will receive a special award at the end of each session of competition at a special awards ceremony. Check the final results posted at the front of the venue. If your child is in the top ten you will need to see the volunteer near awards for a colored wristband that will indicate to the staging staff that they are a top ten award winner. This will help with the staging process for awards. See the specific schedule for award ceremony times. The Level 10 Regional All Star Team will be announced after the session on Friday evening. Parents will be allowed on the floor only in designated areas to take pictures at the overall award ceremonies at the end of each session. For the safety of your child and others participating in the Region 3 Championships, we ask the following: Please do not use flash photography of any kind. Bright lights on video cameras are also prohibited. No one is allowed to sit in the sky boxes or crows nests located at the top of the arena. Please make sure your children are aware of this. The staging area is used to line up flights for competition and pre competition stretching. It is located at the South end of the arena and may ONLY be entered from the Arena floor. In order to make this process run smoothly for the staff we ask that athletes not report to this area until their flight times have been called over the PA system or no more than 20 minutes prior to their scheduled time for competition. Door guards will allow only those athletes who are in the flights that have been called to enter the staging area. Athletes who are in this area too early will be asked to leave. We appreciate your 3
cooperation in this matter. If an athlete is missing from a flight we will call their name before the flight is taken to the competition floor. NO FOOD WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE STAGING AREA.
