WORDS FROM SINGAPORE PAINTBALL SERIES TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR Dear SPS Participants, On behalf of the SPS, I would like to thank you for your staunch support as we continue to grow and develop paintball sport in Singapore. In 2012, we have witnessed a successful run for the Singapore Paintball Series where 2 tournament legs were organized in Farrer Park and The Promontory @ Marina Bay respectively. Each event saw an average participation of 30 teams from Singapore and overseas and players from Malaysia, Brunei, Taiwan, Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand. While both events were unique in their own way, the event at The Promontory @ Marina Bay is by far the grandest location that we have had since the formation of SPS. The SPS continues to keep our promise of bringing paintball sport to the public and we are glad to take up this challenge therefore making SPS 2012 Leg 2 the greatest Singapore paintball event to date. The Race-2 Format was also introduced to the Open Division and Division 3 categories which are aligned with regional paintball events across Asia. This change is very well received by the participants and many applaud this initiative. Registration fees and paintball prices were lowered to attract beginner teams to take on the higher challenge of participating in a national event. In April 2012, the SPS organizes our inaugural dialogue session with members of the community. Team captains from the various SPS teams were invited for a night of sharing where views and feedback were exchanged. It is imperative for SPS to involve all stakeholders to discuss and share information on paintball sports progression for Singapore and we will continue to engage the participating teams. Another development aspect in 2012 was the affirmation of the referee body in Singapore. The 4 th SPS Referees Certification Level 1 Course was organized to recruit paintball referees into the sport so as to allow parallel progression development for the sport. A total of 6 SPS Referees were recruited in 2012 of which 3 referees officiated in SPS 2012. SPS Referees, Rudy Junior Narviandy Bin Ramsis also represented Singapore as part of the Asia Ref team during World Cup Asia 2012. Throughout 2012, the SPS also created several competition platforms for beginner players and season players to compete in a less competitive format such as the SPS Rookie Challenge 2012 and the SPS Friendship Cup 2012. For 2013, the SPS will continue to engage governing agencies and paintball teams in seeking feedback and opinions to pave the future of paintball sports in Singapore. While paintball sport is considered to be in its infancy stage, it is extremely important to establish the right foundation and direction for any progression. With this in mind, we will be promoting an awareness campaign with the slogan Paintball starts right here. We want to cultivate a sense of ownership and platform for local enthusiasts to voice their opinion and have a say of how they really want paintball sport to develop and grow in Singapore. We will also engage field operators and collaborate with them to promote paintball safety and paintball related courses such as referee courses, coaching courses and paintball clinics for their customers who are keen to pursue paintball as a sport. There will be 2 competition legs for SPS 2013 which will be held in March and September respectively. More details will be announced nearer to date of event. For 2013, SPS will be adopting the American Paintball Players Association (APPA) ranking system for players and teams

classification. This adoption will allow the SPS to better ranked all SPS registered players and teams as we moved towards a professional platform for the tournament s administration. The APPA ranking system is also adopted by some of the world s most established paintball tournaments such as the Paintball Sports Promotion (PSP) and neighbouring countries paintball events such as the Malaysia Paintball Official Circuit (MPOC) and the Malaysia National Paintball League (My-NPL) who will also be using the APPA ranking system in 2013. On behalf of the SPS Organizing Committee, I would like to wish you a great 2013 ahead and as a local paintball veteran always say Keep the fire burning. Thank you! Jane Koh Singapore Paintball Series Tournament Director info@singaporepaintballseries.com

ABOUT SINGAPORE PAINTBALL SERIES (SPS) Formerly known as the Singapore Paintball Novice Series (SPNS) in 2008, the first official paintball sport tournament saw the participation of 7 local paintball teams competing in a 3-on-3 game format in Red Dynasty Paintball Park. Today, the Singapore Paintball Series (SPS) is widely recognized as the most competitive and reputable paintball tournament in Singapore and across the Asia region. With an extensive database of over 500 paintball players and referees, the SPS continues to grow and develop paintball sports with the aim of developing paintball into a mainstream sport in Singapore. The SPS has a diverse portfolio ranging from paintball supply consultation to the conduct of paintball workshops, certifications and organizing of paintball sport events. The SPS is also an affiliated promoting partner with the Paintball Asia League Series (PALS) for the Singapore chapter thus allowing the SPS to reach out to the paintball community in Asia. With a worldwide growth of paintball sports, Singapore paintball has entered a new era with hopes of becoming one of the leading countries in paintball development and promotion. The SPS is devoted to establishing paintball as a mainstream sport in Singapore with improved qualities recognized by the paintball community. The SPS has a passion in taking paintball into a whole new dimension. To find out more information about the SPS and how your organization can partner our events, please visit the SPS website, www.singaporepaintballseries.com

NEW IMPLEMENTATION IN SPS 2013 As part of our effort to develop a community-based paintball tournament, it is important for the SPS to continue improving in all aspects of tournament management. Through the various feedback channels from the local community, we will always review our existing processes and explore ways to better them. The following changes will be implemented in 2013: a) With immediate effect, SPS Corporate Division will be ceased to continue and will not be included in future SPS events. b) Open Division will be adopting the Race-3 Format for 2013. c) SPS will adopt the American Paintball Players Association (APPA) ranking system for teams and players classification status. All SPS 2013 participants are required to register to APPA (www.paintball-players.org) and be drafted into their respective team roster when their team captain registered the team for SPS 2013. Teams and players will be assigned points after every registered event through the APPA system. d) Rate of Fire (ROF) for Open Division and Division 3 will be changed from 11.0 bps to 12.0 bps which is in line with PALS 2013 events. e) Registered SPS Referees will be permitted to officiate or assist in the organization of SPSaffiliated and SPS-registered events only. Errant SPS Referees might be served a verbal warning and possible suspension to officiate in SPS-related events and PALS events or as deemed fit by SPS and AsiaRefs. All SPS Referees official duties will be assigned by SPS appointed Referee Manager in consultation with SPS Head Referee. f) Paintball prices for SPS events will be between $95.00 to $105.00. These are reviewed again for the fourth consecutive time since 2009.

OPEN DIVISION P7 Race to 3 Format DIVISION 3 P7 Race to 2 Format DIVISION 4 P5 Format (No sideline coaching allowed) Firing Mode: Semi Final or Ramping PSP/ Millennium, Rate of Fire: Capped at 12.0 bps NOTE: Participants taking part in the Open Division and Division 3 category must be self sufficient in terms of paintball equipment which includes paintball marker, paintball mask, paintball loader and paintball tank. With prior arrangements, players who are SPLAT registered with tagged markers will be able to use their tagged markers during the tournament. Participants without a paintball marker can apply for rental with SPS at $35.00 per marker over the tournament weekend. Rentals are subjected to availability and allocation will be according to first come first serve basis. Local players with personal equipment stored in Malaysia and would like to use them for the SPS will have to complete a request form 6 weeks prior to the event with the SPS organizers to have their equipment imported and exported in and out of Singapore before and after the event. An administrative fee of $50.00 per paintball marker will be imposed for such arrangements. All transfer arrangements will be made by the SPS. All applications are subjected to approval from the SPS and Singapore Police Force. Please send an email to info@singaporepaintballseries.com to request for the request form. Instructions will be provided with the submission of the request form and team registration. OVERSEAS TEAMS Overseas teams who are committed to participate in the SPS will need to contact the organizers 6 weeks before event date for the clearance of their paintball markers. Prior approval must be sought from the Singapore Police Force for teams to bring their personal paintball equipment across the

immigration and custom checkpoint. Teams without prior approval from the SPF will be lawfully dealt with under the Singapore Firearms Act. All overseas teams will need to fill in a SPS registry form and thereafter for submission to Singapore Police Force. All applications are subjected to approval from the Singapore Police Force. There will be no additional cost to the importation and exportation of markers into Singapore as this will arranged by the organizers. Teams are advised to import the same number of paintball markers as per their registered team roster with up to 2 additional backup markers. E.g. If an overseas team register 7 players in its team roster, they will be eligible to import a total of 9 (7 players + 2 backup) paintball markers for the SPS. We strongly do not recommend for overseas teams to assist Singapore-based players to import/export their markers for the event so as to allow the SPS to uphold a fair system for Singapore-based participant. Assisting local teams with importation can lead to administrative complications that might arise from accountability at the Immigration and Customs Department and the Singapore Police Force. ELIGIBILITY All participants MUST be 14 years old and above. Participants who are between 14 18 years old would require parental consent before participation. This tournament is open to all local and overseas players with the exception of registered professional and semi-professional players which will require prior consent from the SPS Committee. EQUIPMENT Players will need to have their personal paintball equipment such as paintball mask, pods, harness, etc. SPS will not be responsible for any loss or damage of the equipment. For Division 4 and Corporate Division, paintball marker will be provided by SPS. RULES AND REGULATIONS SPS will adopt the same set of rules and regulations used in the Paintball Asia League Series (PALS) P7 and P5 game formats. Participants are reminded to read the rules and regulations of competition paintball before the event. You can also download the rules from www.singaporepaintballseries.com.
