Type 100 Precision Air Pressure Regulator Accurate, stable and dependable pressure regulation The Type 100 is a high precision, multi-stage pressure regulator. This pressure controller provides the highest level of regulation accuracy and repeatability available. The Type 100 is ideal for applications that call for the utmost in control and maximum stability under variable operating conditions. A stainless steel measuring capsule is used as a sensing element to activate the high gain servo balanced control mechanism in which the main valve is controlled by a pilot valve. This allows for greater accuracy and eliminates many of the problems associated with conventional regulators using range springs and diaphragms. F E A T U R E S Accurate Pressure Regulation Controls output pressure to within 0.1% accuracy. Regulated pressure variation as small as 0.01 psig is self corrected Stable Output Substantial changes in flow have virtually no effect on regulated pressure from dead end to 12 SCFM. Dependable Startup Returns the regulated pressure to its original output setting even after long down time High Relief Capacity An optional high flow relief valve provides quick response when regulated pressure is reset to a lower value or when there is a large amount of system back pressure to be relieved Temperature Stability A stainless steel measuring capsule which activates the servocontrol mechanism minimizes effects on regulated pressure by wide variations in operating temperature. Locking Capability Locking nut prevents inadvertent pressure adjustment

Type 100 Accurate, stable and reliable air pressure regulat Applications The Type 100 is well suited for processes that require precise regulation of air pressure in pipes and vessels. The Type 100 is often used, but not limited to the following applications: Diagnostic Controls Precision Fluid Control Microfluidics Air Gauging Gas Mixing Calibration Standards Air Hoists Models Type 100 Type 100HR Medical Instrumentation Ventilators Gate Actuators Roll Loading Valve Operators Cylinder Loading Web Tensioning Standard version relief offered in three pressure ranges (2-40 psi, 2-60 psi, 2-120 psi) and three port sizes (1/8", 1/4", 3/8"). Type 100 Principles of Operation Type 100 Ordering Information The measuring capsule in the Type 100 is the sensing element that controls a high precision, balanced servomechanism. Stainless steel alloy construction gives the measuring capsule the ability to maintain forces over long periods of time without hysteresis. This eliminates problems associated with regulators that are controlled by a range spring. The downstream regulated pressure fills the control chamber and surrounds the measuring capsule. Expansion, contraction, or other slight movement of the capsule causes the pilot valve to open or close. This creates a substantial pressure change within the pilot pressure chamber. The change in pilot pressure is directly proportional to the downward force on the pilot diaphragm which causes the appropriate movement of the supply valve or relief valve and corrects any variation from set pressure. The high gain nature of this servomechanism allows the Type 100 to react to changes in set pressure as little as 0.01 psig. Regulated pressure applies an upward force on the underside of the control diaphragm. When set pressure drifts above the set point the control diaphragm assembly moves upward and allows excess pressure to be vented out of the relief valve to atmosphere. The design of the relief valve permits substantial reverse flow capacity which quickly exhausts system back pressure thus eliminating the need for a separate relief valve. Type 200 Precision Air Relay With positive and negative bias adjustment The Type 200 Precision Air Relay is a pilot-operated, multistage 1:1 relay with a positive and negative bias adjustment capability. It accurately reproduces a signal pressure plus or minus the bias setting with consistent repeatability. Output control and stability are maintained through a high-gain-servo balanced control mechanism activated by a highly sensitive stainless steel measuring capsule. F E A T U R E S Highly Accurate Controls output pressure to within 0.1% Positive and Negative Bias Capability When adjusted for positive bias, output is directly proportional to the input signal plus the bias setting. Output pressure can never go below the value of the bias setting regardless of signal pressure. When set for negative bias, the output pressure will remain at minimum until the signal pressure is some value greater than the negative bias Internal Bias Adjustment The standard Type 200 is provided with an internal bias adjustment screw, which prevents casual tampering with the bias setting External Bias Adjustment The Type 200EB is available with an optional external bias adjustment screw, which allows easy access to the bias setting High Relief Capacity The Type 200HR provides an increased exhaust capacity. Its highflow relief valve ensures quick blow down for release of downstream pressure Stable Output Highly stable under variable operating conditions Models Type 200 The standard relay is offered with 1/4" or 3/8" NPT porting and internal bias adjustment Type 200EB External bias adjustment screw provides quick and easy access of bias setting Type 200HR High relief capacity allows for quick blow down capability for rapid exhaust of output pressure Type 200EB/HR Combines external bias adjustment with high relief capacity Applications Operation of multiple devices from one controlled source over a range of pressures Control of pressures in remote locations Volume boosting Gas mixing Materials of Construction Body Capsule and Adjusting Screw Diaphragms Diecast Zinc Alloy, Baked Enamel Paint Stainless Steel Trim, Brass, Plated Steel Buna-N Elastomer, Polyester Fabric

Type 250 The ControlAir Type 250 Lockup Air Relay is a reliable unit for fail in place applications of control valves when air supply drops below acceptable pressure levels. Valve or damper position is maintained by capturing air pressure inside the diaphragm chamber (or piston cylinder) of the actuator, when the supply pressure falls below the desired set value. F E A T U R E S Two Pressure Ranges Available 15-60 psig (1-4 BAR) or 30-120 psig (2-8 BAR) Manual Relief Valve Allows system bleed down Corrosion-Resistant Construction Aluminum or 304 Stainless Steel Material Option Mounting Bracket Standard for Ease of Installation No Leakage in Lock-up Position Lock-up Air Relay Reliability for fail in place applications

Type 250 Principles of Operation Type 250 Dimensions The Type-250 Lock-up Air Relay is designed so that when the supply air pressure falls below a set value (cut-off point) the unit traps the air pressure in the diaphragm chamber of the actuator. The cut-off set point is set to a desired value by compressing the spring adjusting screw. The cut-off set point is adjustable and is generally set at a higher value than required for operation of the control valve. If the control pressure is 3-15 psig (0.2-1.0 BAR), the cut-off set point could be set at 20 psig (1.35 BAR), for example. C U T - O F F S E T T I N G Cut-off set point value has been factory adjusted. Should it be required to re-adjust the set point, it can be made either while the unit is connected to the system or separately on the test bench. Inlet supply air and the outlet pressure gauge should be available to re-adjust. To adjust the cut-off set point, remove the cap and adjust the spring adjusting screw until desired outlet cut-off pressure is achieved. Turning the adjusting screw clock-wise will increase the cut-off setting and turning it counter-clock wise will reduce the cut-off setting. Note that the lock-up relay has a differential pressure of 2.5 psig (.17 BAR). Replace cap securely after having re-adjusted the cut-off set point. Caution: Open the Manual Relief Valve to vent the actuator diaphragm chamber when control valve handwheel (override) is operated to avoid possible damage to the actuator diaphragm. Effects of Upstream Pressure Variations on Regulated Pressure Effect of Changes in Flow on Regulated Pressure Type 300 and Type 310 Principles of Operation Turning the adjusting screw changes the force exerted by the range spring on the diaphragm assembly. In equilibrium of set pressure, the force exerted by the range spring is balanced by the force from the output pressure acting underneath the diaphragm assembly. An unbalanced state between the output pressure and the set pressure causes a corresponding reaction in the diaphragm and supply valve assemblies. If the output pressure rises above the set pressure, an upward force is exerted on the diaphragm assembly causing the relief seat to lift and open. Excess pressure is vented to atmosphere until equilibrium is reached. If the output pressure drops below the set pressure the unbalanced force of the range spring causes a downward force on the diaphragm assembly. The supply valve then opens until the pressure builds up once more to the equilibrium condition. Under forward flow conditions, the range spring force is balanced by the diaphragm pressure force, with the supply valve open just enough to maintain the required equilibrium pressure. When high flow occurs, a specially designed aspirator helps maintain downstream pressure and compensates for droop. Atmosphe Regulated Supply Pr

The Type-600 ratio relay volume booster is designed to use a pneumatic signal to produce an output pressure which has high flow capacity and can be amplified. This unit is most useful for systems requiring the conversion of a low flow control signal to the higher flow requirements of an operating system. Using an independent supply pressure for greater volume, the Type-600 relays up to 50 SCFM flow capacity to a final control element such as a valve actuator. The standard signal to output ratio is 1:1, however, the Type-600 is also available with an amplified signal to output ratio of 1:2, 1:3 and 1:6. This force is balanced by the output pressure acting against the lower control diaphragm area. The ratio of signal pressure to output pressure is determined by the ratio of the effective areas of the upper and lower diaphragms. If signal pressure is increased above the output pressure there is a net downward force on the diaphragm assembly causing the supply valve to open. Output pressure increases until equalibrium is achieved. When signal pressure is decreased below the output pressure, the diaphragm assembly rises, allowing output air to exhaust through the vent on the side of the relay. This force is balanced by the output pressure acting against the lower control diaphragm area. If signal pressure and/or bias spring force is increased above the output pressure then there is a net downward force on the diaphragm assembly causing the supply valve to open. Output pressure increases until equilibrium is achieved.

PRECISION BACK TYPE 700BP PRESSURE REGULATOR DESCRIPTION The Type-700BP Back Pressure Regulator is a high flow, highly accurate pneumatic relief valve with an adjustable set point. It's primary function is to provide protection against over pressurization in the downstream portion of a pneumatic system. This precision unit is capable of handling flows up to 50 SCFM. A rolling diaphragm provides the sensitivity that causes the Type-700BP to vent to atmosphere in response to the slightest upstream changes. FEATURES SENSITIVITY - Provides quick response to controlled system pressure variation. HIGH FLOW CAPACITY - Flows up to 50 SCFM (depending on set point pressure and port size). COMPENSATING FLOW CONTROL - Venturi type velocitypressure tube adjusts main control valve opening in accordance with velocity pressure variations of flow from controlled system. ON-LINE MAINTENANCE - Unit can be disassembled and serviced without removing from the air line. APPLICATIONS The Type-700BP is used in place of a standard relief valve to provide protection against excessive build-up in supply pressure lines to instruments and other sensitive control devices. The most common application is to control the air pressure in a system supplied by a compressor. Used in conjunction with a diaphragm operated inlet restricting valve and a bleed orifice, the Back Pressure regulator relieves excess compressor pressure while activating the intake restricting valve. When the regulator shuts off, the down-stream air vents through the bleed orifice allowing the restricting valve to open. P R I N C I P L E S O F O P E R A T I O N Turning the knob changes the force exerted by the range spring on the diaphragm assembly. If the output pressure drops below the set pressure, the unbalanced force of the range spring causes a downward force on the diaphragm assembly. The supply valve then opens until the pressure builds up once more to the equilibrium condition. Supply Pressure Regulated Pressure Under forward flow conditions, the range spring force is balanced by the diaphragm pressure force, with the supply valve open just enough to maintain the required equilibrium pressure. As the demand for downstream flow varies, the Type 800 compensates by automatically repositioning the supply valve relative to the supply seat. The vibration damper stabilizes the diaphragm in high flow conditions. Atmospheric Pressure
