We are all excited to watch these memories grow for years to come! Farmington Square Tualatin Welcomes Our New Resident: Dolores Nelson to Beechwood Ethel Reaume to Beechwood Lorraine Jansik to Ponderosa Need some support? Every third Wednesday of the month we host an Alzheimer s Caregiver Support Group. This group is open to the public for anyone caring for a loved one living with Alzheimer s disease. The group meets at 6:00pm in the Ponderosa private dining room, refreshments will be provided. Are You Coming? We have two fantastic events planned for June! Saturday, June 13 th we will be having a Hawaiian Luau on the lawn with some great entertainment and Sunday, June 21 st we will be having a Father s Day BBQ! Both starting at noon, please RSVP to Suzy or Randy 503-692-1748 Invitation Alert! July will be here sooner than you think! We have two fun filled days still in the works but save the dates for Saturday, July 4 th for Independence Day BBQ and Saturday, July 25 th for a day of family fun at the Farmington Square Carnival!

Alzheimer s Association Fundraising and Volunteer Opportunities At Farmington Square Tualatin we are passionate about our ability to support the Alzheimer s Association s fight to end Alzheimer s disease. You will find throughout the year we have several raffles which you are able to participate in with all the proceeds going to the Alzheimer s Association. Continuing with that theme we will be having a community garage sale this August. We will be accepting donations for the garage sale starting in June. We ask that all large items be held onto until the weekend of the sale, due to storage space. If you would like to volunteer to assist with the sale, please contact Suzy for volunteer opportunities. The sale will be held August 15th and 16th. As it is also the same week as Senior Citizen Day, we will also be offering free sundaes to all seniors! Last month we had ourselves a Gentlemen s Playoff Party, with pizza, pretzels, chips and beer! Everyone really had a really great time! VAN OUTINGS FOR JUNE Wednesday, June 3 rd we will be taking a leisurely scenic drive. Wednesday, June 10 th by special request we will be taking our first ever lunch trip! We will be going to Thai Bistro. If you would like to join us we will be arriving at 12pm. If you would like your loved one to attend and would like to contribute to the cost, please contact Suzy. Wednesday, June 17 th Take two! Last month we wanted to go play Mini Golf but the weather did not allow us. So we will be taking another stab at it this month! We will be arriving at Wilsonville Family Fun Center at 1:30, please feel free to join us. Wednesday, June 24 th we will be taking our monthly shopping trip to Fred Meyers, have your list and pocket books ready! Fridays we join other seniors in the area at the Juanita Pohl Center for Bingo. Bring your A game; we will be leaving sharply at 9:45am. In June (when the schedule is released) we will be having another gathering for the NBA Playoff Finals! Who are you rooting for?

Strawberry Chantilly Clint Thielke Ingredients Directions 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup butter 1/2 chopped walnuts 2 egg whites 1 cup white sugar 2 cups fresh strawberries 1 cup heavy cream 1 teaspoon lemon juice Preheat oven to 300 Degrees F Mix flower, white sugar and butter until crumbly, stir in chopped walnuts Press 2/3 of the mixture in the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish (the remaining crumble will be used for the topping). Bake for 20 minutes. Set aside to completely cool before moving on to the next step. In a large deep bowl, stir together egg whites, brown sugar, strawberries and lemon juice. Whip with electric mixer at a high speed for 10 minutes In another mixing bowl, whip whipping cream until stiff and fold into strawberry mixture. Spread over cooled crust. Sprinkle remaining crump mixture. Freeze for at least 6 hours before serving. We had two big winners at the Bingo Blow Out at Juanita Pohl center: June and Joan! Everyone is having a laugh with Carolee out on the patio We believe that physical fitness and fun can go hand in hand! A great example of this is an invigorating game of ring toss! Missing Resident Spot light?! We miss it too! Sharing the history of our residents brings such joy to us and we need your help to do it! If you are interested in writing a one page article about your loved one s experiences please send it to Suzy, along with 4-5 pictures from the past.
