Information & Risk Assessment: Hastings Adventure Golf Updated May 2012 About Hastings Adventure Golf Hastings Adventure Golf, is in fact a complex of no less than three, 18-hole miniature golf courses, providing facilities suitable for players of all ages. This is the national centre for Miniature Golf in the UK and the home of the annual World Crazy Golf Championships every October. There are 2 'flagship' courses, firstly the Florida-style Adventure Golf, with landscaped gardens, 7 waterfalls and no less than 37 fountains, including a spectacular dancing waters display every few minutes. There s even a cave to negotiate. There are spitting, talking Tikki poles awaiting victims along the way as well. This course is tremendous fun & considered by many to be one of the finest in Europe. Thanks to the Tikki poles, there s a good chance you ll get a bit wet whilst playing this one! A family of four should allow about one hour to play the course. The second flagship course and brand new for 2011 is Pirate Golf. Once again, 18 holes but watch out Mateys, this new course features waterfalls and streams, bridges, Pirate ships firing cannons, explosions, a few rather large splashes - and more than a few extra surprises and sound effects along the way. This is a big course and a family of four should allow around 50 minutes to play it. You may get a bit splashed along the way too! The original Crazy Golf is the traditional seaside favourite. Beat the windmill & water-mill & negotiate the bends, twists & ramps. This is an easy-to-play, fun course, the easiest of the 3 & will occupy a family of four for around 40 minutes. All 3 courses have an electronic, interactive 'Lucky Last Hole' where every player has a chance to win a Free Game Ticket. Prepare to be insulted if you miss though! All 3 courses are open long hours from Easter until the beginning of September 9am until 10pm, every day floodlights on all courses for evening players! The site also incorporates the Beach Retreat Café (indoor and outdoor), the Crazy Golf icecream kiosk (outdoor) and the Chocolate Fountain shop (hand-made chocolates, sweets, ices etc).

Legal Requirements and Attraction Information MAINTENANCE & OPERATION All facilities are maintained to the highest standard and checked on a daily basis FOOD SAFETY & HYGIENE All food outlets operate in accordance with relevant food safety legislation and are regularly inspected by the local Environmental Health Department. We currently hold the coveted local 5* certification for catering standards and hygiene (maximum possible) as issued by Hastings Borough Council ATTRACTION STAFF & STAFF IDENTIFICATION All staff wear logo d uniforms for easy identification. ID confirmation checks are carried out on all staff employed at this facility as required by legislation and/or as appropriate to their job roles SECURITY & CHILD SUPERVISION Our staff are always available to help but children always remain the responsibility of the adults who accompany them. A member of the management team is always available on site HOW TO FIND US, PARKING etc. We are on the seafront, in Hastings Old Town towards the eastern end of the promenade & about 5 minutes walk from the fishing quarter. The main road (seafront) is the A.259 main coast road between Eastbourne in the west & Dover in the east. As you walk or drive along Hastings seafront, you cannot fail to see the courses and the fountains, palm trees & gardens of the Adventure Golf. Postcode for Sat-Nav users is TN34 3AJ There is a large Pay & Display car park right next to the complex & others nearby. Hastings Rail Station, the modern Town Centre & Priory Meadow Shopping Centre are all less than 10 minutes walk away

Risk Assessment Weather Protection & Sun Safety Please dress for the changeable British weather. There is not a great deal of cover around the site. Please be prepared for rain or sun, dress accordingly and bring suitable sun protection. Wear sensible flat footwear to cope with the undulation of the courses. Limited indoor seating is provided at the Beach Retreat Café and sun umbrellas are provided for some of the outdoor seating. Toilet Facilities Public toilet facilities are provided by Hastings Borough Council at the adjacent (to the site) facility. These include Radar disabled facilities and baby-change facilities. Please note that these facilities close at 9.30pm in the summer months. The Beach Retreat Café also provides customer toilet facilities, including disabled and babychange, during Beach Retreat opening hours (usually 9.30am to 6pm). Slips/Trips/Falls/Disabled Access The uneven terrain that makes the courses enjoyable to play can add to the risk of injury through tripping. Please take care and play at your own risk. Children under the age of 8 years are not permitted on the courses unless accompanied by an adult at all times and all children must be constantly supervised. Some of the pathways and playing surfaces may be wet, even in fine weather. All courses involve some steps, although on the Adventure Golf and Pirate Golf courses they are minimal. The Adventure Golf & the Pirate Golf courses are more easily accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs (as are the Café and Shop). The décor of the Adventure Golf and Pirate Golf courses is enhanced by the inclusion of rock formations. Children should not be permitted to climb on these, nor cross the rope barriers around many of the water features. Artificial Lighting All courses are floodlit after dark and all remain open in the summer months to 10pm. Although the floodlighting is efficient and comprehensive, extra care should be taken when playing under artificial lighting. Golf Clubs Golf clubs in the hands of young children can be a hazard unless properly controlled and supervised. An appropriate size of club is given to every child player and parents/supervisors are strongly advised to accept staff s judgement on this. Supervision of all children is essential at all times Miniature Golf is a game of putting. All players, particularly children, should refrain from hitting the ball excessively hard, thereby causing a hazard to themselves and other people. Hastings Adventure Golf reserves the right to remove clubs and balls from any player behaving unacceptably and request that they leave the site.

Unruly Behaviour Hastings Adventure Golf reserves the right to refuse service to any person and any customer behaving unacceptably may be requested to leave the site. Alcohol There is a ban in Hastings on consuming alcohol in any public area. Hastings Adventure Golf recognises that ban and requests that no alcohol is consumed on any part of our premises. Smoking In accordance with national law, smoking is not permitted indoors on any part of our site. We permit smoking in outdoor areas, including on our courses but request that this is done responsibly and that waste items are removed from the premises. We would respectfully remind customers that there is a fine, enforced by the Local Authority of 75, levied against anyone leaving litter, including cigarette ends. Dogs Assistance dogs are welcome at all times. Other dogs are permitted on the courses provided they remain on a lead, are fully controlled at all times and provided that owners remove any waste promptly and efficiently. Electrical Switchgear and Control Equipment, Pumps, Service Equipment etc. All such equipment is appropriately locked or secured behind locked gates. Access to these areas is available to authorised and qualified personnel only. Water Hazards The Adventure Golf and Pirate Golf courses contain many water features, including ponds, waterfalls, fountains, water splashes, misting features and interactive features that may squirt water. Please be aware of this. Children under the age of 8 years are not permitted on the courses unless accompanied by an adult at all times and all children must be constantly supervised. Windmill The Crazy Golf course features a Windmill with wooden rotating sails. The entire structure has a safety fence surrounding it. A slip gearing system ensures the sails stop when touched. Do not cross the safety fence and do not permit children to play with this facility. Watermill The Crazy Golf course features a Watermill which rotates. A slip gearing system ensures the mill stops when touched. Do not permit children to play with this facility. Wet Floors, Beach Retreat Café and Shop In wet weather, these floors may be slippery. Please take extra care in damp conditions. First Aid First aid facilities are available at the Golf sales Kiosk and Beach Retreat Café. There is always at least one trained first-aider on site, more at busy times. Lost Children Should you lose contact with a member of your family or party, please contact any member of staff immediately and they will render all necessary assistance.
