The actuators and peripheral equipment selected according to conventional and ordinary conception may be the products which have been widely used so far, therefore, common system will probably be made. However, to realize cost-down, saving space and high accuracy more than present, what method can be taken? When producing epochmaking system, is it proper to select actuators as usual? Even among actuators abundant in the world, there is something shining. Internal Structure MINIDEX consists of very simple elements as said Simple is the best. This means superior durability and fewer failures, and also shows good maintainability and safety. The figure below shows the locking state by positioning. Right chamber is pressurized and left chamber is exhausted. Applied honing plating to inner surface. Performs positioning and kelly action. Note : MD-0, 30 differ partially from the above figure in structure. In MINIDEX, One () index is completed by () reciprocating. That is, indexing is conducted when the piston shown in the figure below moves right, and locking by positioning is conducted when it moves left. Locating pin is fitted into the hole cap, and shaft is surely locked. How to Use There is no limit to installation direction. Flanged Dislocation Fig. shows the state that by switching valve, piston moved right,and indexing was completed. In this state, indexing is completed by 95% and locking is made once. At this time, a little dislocation between the center of locating pin and that of positioning hole is established. Operation Strictly, MINIDEX performs index action by double motion. As shown in right figure, movement by approximately 5 is required to conduct locking. It is necessary to take this into consideration. The torque at locking is always larger than that at indexing. Final index angle Locking angle Fig. 3 shows the original position again. When entering into hole, locating pin enters while performing indexing of the rest 5% and locking is made again. Outside Dimension and Performance The following 4 types of MINIDEX are available. Torque property and the number of indexes should be taken into consideration when selecting. Torque should be set within 60% of theoretical value. Note for Handling.Since MINIDEX is small, even if production accuracy is retained within ±0.0, angle error becomes ±8 (in the case of MD-30.) Index accuracy more than it cannot be insured. Therefore, it is not recommended to design so as to obtain index accuracy in second directly from the shaft. In this case, the way to insert positioning pin into driven unit should be adopted..mechanically, MINIDEX moves almost uniformly. Therefore, applying excessive load or high-speed operation with large load is not recommended. In designing, try to extremely minimize GD (inertia). 3.Products complied with the standard are used for inner seals. Abrasion or damage of the seals may cause air leakage and result in output descent. For exchange of seals, contact us. 4.Installation altitude is free from limit, however, the way of use that load is applied to shaft (thrust) is not recommended. Thrust load should be received outside by thrust bearing. 5.See Instruction Manual for Safety and Handling before using. Allowable Load and Index Time. Mechanical Multipoint Stop Unit [MULTISTOPPER] is epoch-making product that make it possible for various feed equipment to perform intermediate multipoint stop. In feeding of slide table by air cylinder, for instance, stopping can be made at only two points; forward and backward end of cylinder. In the case where the table is required to be stopped accurately at midposition, the way to set movable stopper is adopted in many cases. However, in the case where many points, such as 4 or 5 points, mechanism and control become complex. MULTISTOPPER is useful in such a case. What is MULTISTOPPER? MULTISTOPPER, being application product of small pneumatic intermittent cylinder MINIDEX made by us, is provided with the turntable on which many stopper pins are mounted on the end face of the disc, intermittently turns the disc each time when slide jigs make reciprocating, switches to stopper pins different in length and applies them to slide jigs, and make stopping and positioning mechanically at many points. The figure below shows an example of application ; the equipment to distribute to different 6 points by catching works supplied in turn to given place by parts feeder ( or conveyer ). Stopping can be made mechanically and accurately without using expensive pulse motor or servo system. Dealing with preparation of works of different types can be simply made by changing each disc or pins (Special Specification). Rotation control of main body can be conducted by only four way valve, and pipes are sufficient for piping. Follow to the figure below. Piping for indexing at stopper disc side should be performed. Index port is at stopper disc side. The photographs below show examples of application. Another application is that general purpose spot welding machine, which is provided with MINIDEX equipped with reduction gear on the shaft, mounted with 4 stopper pins on disc and installed as XY moving jig, is used as special purpose machine capable of applying spot welding continuously to more than 50 point. Manufacture stopper pin almost as per the figure below/. Make sure to set spanner latch, etc to be easily able to adjust length. Since tip impacts against counter-reinforcing plate, make sure to perform hardening. Hexagon Head Adjustment length Spanner latch Hole Hardening - Don t use pins being too long. -. Reinforcing plate to stopper pin should be designed so as to avoid interference with adjacent pins. While stopper is rotating, back reciprocating slide jig once to the original position so that stopper pins can rotate without interference. Clearance Slider Clearance 8

3. In setting pin length, determine from thrust load with reference to the figure below. In the case of division into 4, for instance, when the valve is turned to ON, it stops after rotating approximately 85. Therefore, the signal is necessary at that point, and when the valve is turned to OFF by this signal, it is locked after rotating O O remaining 5. Moreover, the original position signal is obtained at the point of a total of 90 ( index ), which is used as forward signal for table, etc. Two each of LS are necessary. ( In the case of timer control, LS is not required, or l each is required at original position. ).For verification of contact of stopper pin and reinforcing plate, the figure below shows one of methods having been performed for reference. However, if necessary, detection by setting multiple dog in near shaft should be performed. In the case of division into 8, for instance, signals at each position can be found by combination of 3 or 4 each of LS. ( More than 0 signals were obtained by O combination of 5 each of LS in the example shown in the photo of previous item. ) Since lock angle is 5 being small, small sensors should be used. L S L S L S 3 Note : Another each of LS is necessary for the original position of stopper. Position 3 4 5 6 7 8 4.In the case of high speed movement by air cylinder, shock is generated at stop end. In this case, it is preferable to hollow the reinforcing plate, set a shaft and install a small shock absorber in its back. Note for Installing. Install stopper pins and reinforcing plate so that lean is not generated at the time of impacting. If torque is generated on stopper disc at the time of impacting, the main body may be damaged.. When stopper pins are mounted and locked, pay attention not to apply torque to the disc. Make sure to fix the disc by vice, etc, or insert a bar into the detent hole around the periphery of the disc, and fasten the lock nut. ( Care should be taken strictly when assembling. ) 3. Thrust load is supported by metal bearing. Oil sometimes. 4. Try to rotate as slowly as possible so as not to generate impact at the time of indexing and locking. MICRO-INDEX CYLINDER By only switching of pneumatic valve, micro circle dividing ( 0.3 interval, division into 00 ) can be surly made. This pneumatic actuator is the product which non-backlash reduction gear Ball Reduction Gear and MINIDEX made by us are combined with, and is designed to enable to surly perform micro circle dividing by only switching of pneumatic valve. In spite of air equipment, this can perform micro angle index of 0.3 interval ( division into 00 ), so nothing can be compared with this. How to Use and Note for Handling Four-way or five-way valve ( single or double deflection, or hand valve ) should be used. Air port at rotating table side (upper side) is for indexing, and that at lower side for locking. Indexing is performed by supplying air alternately to two air ports. (One reciprocating of internal piston shows index.) When air is supplied to index side, stopping is made at 5-7 shorter than required index angle. Then, when air is supplied to lock side, locking is made while rotating remaining 5 7. Trial run should be started at lower speed (speed control at lower side should be throttled. ), then speed should be increased gradually. If it is started at high speed first, internal cam may be damaged. Due to uniform rotation, in the case of high speed, impact is generated at stop end. If speed is increased gradually by above-mentioned method and the table is free of shake, operation can be conducted almost in safety. However, it is required to use as slowly as possible within given cycle. How to conduct piping Specification is for non-lubrication type. In the case of built-in to automatic machine, control is made by timer or limit switch. LS dog should be set at shaft end at lower portion of the table or table side. In the case of transverse installation (shaft is level.), load balanced right and left against the center of rotation should be applied surely. In the case of single load of arm, etc, advance run to rotation direction or damage of anti-reverse clutch may occur. In the case of transverse installation, loading weight is reduced by half. The main causes of failure are damage of cam by overload and cutting of parallel pin. In this case, operation is impossible. If you give us information on the state, we immediately take a necessary action. Sub-table should be made to be smaller in diameter and lighter in weight.
