OFFICIAL RULES Pro Football Pick Em SmartContest 2017 Promotion Promotion Description: Dover Downs Hotel & Casino will be running a Pro Football Pick Em contest for Capital Club Members. Contest will feature pro football. The promotions will be held at the Capital Club. To promote these offers Dover Downs Hotel & Casino will post digital signage throughout the casino as well as email. SmartContest Description SmartContest is a contest that is run by a third party machine of which Capital Club Members must earn two (2) points to turn in a pick slip. As a company, Dover Downs Hotel & Casino will pick which contest to run. (Example: Professional and college football, hockey, basketball, baseball, etc.). The equipment used to run the game is provided by SmartContest. It is called SmartContest PRK-1 Touchscreen System Kiosk with attached reader. SmartContest will train our staff to use PRK-1 Touchscreen system. Line up sheet and Pick sheet Description All game players must be Capital Club Members. Patrons use a line up sheet (provided by SmartContest) to fill out a blank pick sheet (purchased from SmartContest). 1. Line up sheet. This sheet describes the line up for a particular segment contest The lineup sheet will contain brackets beside the two opposing teams. The Capital Club Member will use the lineup sheet to complete the blank pick sheet. 2. Fill out a pick sheet Pre-printed pick sheets are blank to accommodate any contest. The pick sheet must be filled out in pencil or pen. 1 P a g e
Game Details The pick sheet requires the patron to fill out a. Capital Club Number b. Game number c. Their selections and tiebreaker d. Their signature By signing the back of the pick slip it is the patron s acknowledgement that they verified all information on the pick slip is correct and eliminates any question of someone filling out someone else s Capital Club number e. The pick sheet is handed to a Capital Club Representative who will run it through the SDU where the data is recorded and a receipt is printed. f. The Capital Club member will keep the receipt. It is the sole responsibility of the patron to ensure that all information on the pick slip and the receipt that is printed from the Smart Contest machine is correct. Capital Club members can play once per day. At the end of the week, data is transferred directly to the Smart Contest. Each Capital Club Member will fill out a pick sheet for each segment contest they play. Capital Club members are able to fill out one pick sheet per day. If multiple pick sheets are entered on the same day the last pick sheet of the day will be recorded. We are not responsible for items not taken by the machine or faulty game cards. (un-read by light pencil or pen marks) The Capital Club Member must include their Capital Club number on the pick sheet. We are not responsible for incorrect selections, game numbers, or incorrectly bubbled in Capital Club member numbers. The Capital Club Member must make a selection for each game being played on the current game segment. If the Capital Club Member fails to do this, the pick sheet will be disqualified. The Capital Club Member must complete the Tie Breaker question at the end of the segment contest. If the Capital Club Member fails to do this, the score will be considered zero. The Capital Club Member will turn in their completed pick sheet to a Capital Club Representative, who will feed it into the machine, which will print out a receipt for the customer. Capital Club members are only permitted to turn in their own pick sheet. At segment end, results are available at the SmartContest website (for DDHC). A generic form allows Dover Downs Hotel & Casino to display all or part of the results to patrons. The Capital Club will post results of winners (weekly) on the following Wednesday at 10 a.m. End of Season will be posted the following Friday at 1 p.m. The winners will be posted on doverdowns.com. Tie Breakers In the event that multiple Capital Club members have the same number of game selections the tie breaker will be utilized for winning order placement. a. Tie breakers are scored by being closest to the actual tie breaker without going over. b. For example if the official score is 52 and a patron has 30 they will place higher than a patron who had 54. c. If multiple patrons have the same number of game selections and the same exact tie breaker the winning order placement will be decided by when the patron s pick slips were 2 P a g e
turned into the Capital Club. The earlier entry will place higher. Prizes will be based per contest segment. See above information we are using FREE Slot Play for the prize structure. Segment: 1. Pro Football Game We may choose different segments in the future. (For instance: basketball, hockey, etc.) Pro Football Game Segment The Pro Football Game will begin on Sunday, September 10, 2017 and end on December 31, 2017. Pick sheets will be available on Monday September 4, 2017. Capital Club Members will fill out the pick sheet at the Capital Club by Sunday at 11 a.m. for weeks where the 1 st Sunday game begins at 1 p.m. and by 9 a.m. for weeks where the 1 st game begins at 9:30 a.m. (prior to the start of the Sunday game). Patrons are only allotted one play ticket per day from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. (midnight). If the patron submits multiple entries, the last entry of the day will be deemed the submitted entry. Must be a Capital Club Member to qualify to play. This game is only open to patrons who have earned two (2) points on the day of their entry. Data will be collected from the week s contest by SmartContest following the end game ticket being run through the machine by a member of the Capital Club. Winners: On the following Wednesday at 10 a.m., (with the exception of the End of Seasons Winners who will be posted at 1 p.m. on the following Friday). Winners will be posted on doverdowns.com Winners have seven days after game day to claim their prizes. See Attachment A (Prize Structure) Weekly Prizes: Top winner of the most correct picks will receive $500.00 in FREE Slot Play and $30.00 Resort Card. Please see above for how tie breakers are handled in tie situations. Tie of the most correct picks: Are based on the tie breaker. Tie Breaker: Each Capital Club Member must fill out the tie breaker information on the bottom of the pick sheet. The tie breaker is the total score that the patron picks for the Monday game scores combined from both teams. End of Season Tie Breaker: If there is a tie, the tie will be determined from the entire season s tie breakers. A running tally of the weekly tiebreakers is calculated. The patron with the lowest tie breaker calculation will score highest. (determined by SmartContest). Winners will be posted at 1 p.m. on the following Friday. For the Pro Football Game segment we purchase a $500,000.00 Prize. This contest is for the End of Season (See Attachment A) There will be a $500,000.00 Prize 1. CONTEST OPERATION DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF PRIZES (By SmartContest). a. To win the contest, a player must correctly pick 201 or more winning teams out of 235 National Football League games. $500,000.00 is the total Prize. If more than one player scores 201 or more correct picks, the $500,000.00 prize will be shared by all winners. Yearly installments made payable to the promotion winner equal to the prize value divided by the length of annuity contracted for which is 40 years. (i.e. $500,000.00 prize/40 year annuity = $12,500.00 per year installments for 40 years). Installments shall commence at the conclusion of the claim investigation and will be made the same date each year. b. Every week for seventeen (17) consecutive weeks, a predetermined number of football games, ranging from twelve (12) games to sixteen (16) games, will be included in the prediction pool. c. The 235 NFL games in the pool are all the scheduled games to be played on Sundays or Monday s (only). The contest starts with the games on September 10, 2017, and ends with the games on December 31, 2017. d. Each player is allowed a maximum of one (1) entry per day per contest. A total of 7 entries). Capital Club Members may fill out multiple pick sheets per week, but the highest score that they filled out, is the one that counts. Capital Club Members must have two (2) points to participate. e. If any of the designated events are canceled due to a force majeure, which prevents the conduction of the event, the contest may be amended to a reschedule date with no additional charges. See Attachment A - End of Season Prize sheet. Rules for SmartContest : Promotion will run September 10, 2017, until December 31, 2017. To qualify patrons must be a Capital Club Member. Patrons must have earned two (2) points the day of the promotion (2 points must be earned from 6:01 a.m. until time pick sheet is submitted) to qualify.
