Issue Date: Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 BRONCOS VISIT DETROIT; PLAY SIX OF NEXT EIGHT ON THE ROAD The Broncos (3-4) will play six of their next eight games on the road during a stretch that begins with Sunday s game at Detroit (5-2). Kickoff at Ford Field is set for 1 p.m. EST. The Broncos enter Sunday s game looking to rebound from a 19-13 overtime loss at home to Green Bay on Monday Night Football. Jason Elam s 21-yard field goal sent into overtime for the second time this season before Brett Favre found Greg Jennings for an 82-yard touchdown on the first play of the extra period for the game-winning score. Owners of the NFL s best record (10-1 /.909) since 2000 in the game following a MNF appearance, the Broncos will face a Lions team that is off to its best start in seven years. Detroit earned a 16-7 win last week at Chicago, intercepting the Bears on three of their final four possessions to secure the victory. The Broncos last faced Detroit in the regular season in 2003, defeating the Lions 20-16 at home, and have played Detroit only three times since 1990. This week s game in Detroit marks the first of six road contests for the Broncos in an eight-game period., which only once in club history (1969) has had such a stretch, joins the Rams as the only two teams in the NFL this year to play six of eight on the road. The Broncos will play four of their next five games away from home, a first for the club since its Super Bowl championship season in 1997. has a 10-5 (.667) record in its last 15 road games and is 10-2 (.833) since 2000 in away contests during the month of November. The Broncos are 33-13 (.717) overall in November under Mike Shanahan, who on Sunday is set to coach his 200th regularseason game with the Broncos (126-73 /.633). Second-year quarterback Jay Cutler, who has posted a completion percentage of at least 60 percent in s last six games, directs a Broncos offense that is fifth in the league in yards per play (5.94). Defensively, the Broncos are allowing the sixth-fewest passing yards per game (187.6) in the NFL.
