ARTS COUNCIL PRESENTS SPECIAL ART SEMINAR FOR ARTISTS! Want to turn your art hobby into a source of income, but not sure how? The Arts Council of Moore County may have the perfect answer when it presents a special artist seminar, Taking Your Art Online Learning the Ropes of the World Wide Web for Promoting Your Art. Led by Laura C. George, the business consultant for artists, this seminar will be presented on Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Campbell House Galleries. The cost of the seminar is $30 for Arts Council members ($40 for non-members). Register soon, because space is limited. Taking Your Art Online is a seminar designed to teach the basics of using the internet as a tool for promoting your art business. Laura will cover topics such as creating a website, using social media, blogging, and keeping in touch with prospective customers. This seminar is being taught at a beginner's level and is perfect if you know how to send an email but can't make heads or tails of Facebook. Laura C. George is a business consultant who liberates and energizes artists who feel stuck, arming them with the knowledge they need to create a career that supports them emotionally and financially. With over five years of experience in the online art realm, Laura knows the most effective strategies for utilizing the internet to sell art. Her expert advice has been featured across the web and her adoring fans have called her "the answer to years of frustration".when she's not dishing out words of wisdom for art businesses, she indulges her sweet tooth with all things caramel, creates intaglio prints, and plays with her Labrador in the dog park. To register for this seminar, please call the Arts Council at 910-692-2787 or stop by the Arts Council offices (Campbell House, 482 E. Connecticut Ave., Southern Pines).
