Village of Pinehurst Fourth of July Parade July 4 The fun begins at Tufts Memorial Park in the Village Center with the Patriotic Pet Competition. Pets can be registered in one of eight categories for judging including best dressed, most spots, and most talented. Registration begins at 9:00am with judging and prizes awarded at 9:30am. The pet parade will kick off at 9:45am with the traditional parade following at 10:00 am. Stick around after the parade for the Antique Cars Display, Music, Face Painting, and The Sandhills Farmers Market Vendors offering fresh fruit, veggies and baked goods until 12:00 noon.

Candor Peach Festival July 19 We welcome you attend the North Carolina Peach Festival held every year on the third Saturday in July in Candor. We began the festivals in 1997 and each year it gets better than the year before. The parade starts at 10 a.m. and the festivities take place in the park. Bring your lawn chairs and sit back and enjoy the local live entertainment. There are always lots of local peaches, peach ice cream and peach desserts.
ARTS COUNCIL PRESENTS SPECIAL ART SEMINAR FOR ARTISTS! Want to turn your art hobby into a source of income, but not sure how? The Arts Council of Moore County may have the perfect answer when it presents a special artist seminar, Taking Your Art Online Learning the Ropes of the World Wide Web for Promoting Your Art. Led by Laura C. George, the business consultant for artists, this seminar will be presented on Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Campbell House Galleries. The cost of the seminar is $30 for Arts Council members ($40 for non-members). Register soon, because space is limited. Taking Your Art Online is a seminar designed to teach the basics of using the internet as a tool for promoting your art business. Laura will cover topics such as creating a website, using social media, blogging, and keeping in touch with prospective customers. This seminar is being taught at a beginner's level and is perfect if you know how to send an email but can't make heads or tails of Facebook. Laura C. World Championship July 31 to Aug 2, 2014 The U.S. Kids Golf World Championship will once again take place in Pinehurst, N.C. Home to several of the nation's most beautiful courses, the Pinehurst community will be hosting the largest event in junior golf for the seventh consecutive year. In 2014, the World Championship will be played on nine different golf courses, with the World Cup being held on Pinehurst No. 4. Teen World Championship July 24-26, 2014 The U.S. Kids Golf Teen World Championship takes place in Pinehurst, North Carolina, the weekend before the World Championship. Golfers, ages 13 to 18, tee it up on some of the best and most revered golf courses in America. This three-day tournament attracts over 500 participants from across the United States and more than 30 countries abroad.
