July - September 2016 RACHID Award for the Employee of the Year 2015 O n July 22, the second edition of the RACHID Award for the Employee of the Year was celebrated. Following the selection process, Ángel Alaez, Technical Manager at Teknia Bilbao, was chosen the laureate of the award. The judges considered that Ángel reflects all the virtues, which our colleague Rachid embodied during his life, which mainly are: Team work Corporate spirit Goodness Ethical Behaviour The team appointed for the election of the laureate consisted of Javier Lazpita, Javier Quesada de Luis, Jesús Beltejar and Petra Hudáková, who were present at the ceremony except for Javier Quesada who was in USA at the time. Fernando Garay and Michel Peña were also present on behalf of TBI. Ángel received the award stating I do not believe I have been doing anything extraordinary, I simply tried to do my best at work, which highlights the humbleness of Ángel because his performance was undoubtedly extraordinary and recognized by his colleagues from the plant, as well as by the whole Teknia team, who had a chance to work with him. With the aim of keeping the spirit of our colleague Rachid alive, who was very active in the charitable causes, the award consists of donating 15,000 to any charitable organization, and the NGO of Ángel s choice has been UNICEF. L Plastic Division acknowledged as Preferred Supplier of the BOSCH Group The constant effort and the objective of Maintaining high standards do possible this award ast July, the Plastic Division of the Teknia Group was acknowledged as a Preferred Supplier of the BOSCH Group. The certificate was handed over by Mr. Stefan Wachholtz (Automotive Business West Materials) highlighting the excellent performance of their preferred suppliers in terms of innovative technology, quality, competitive solutions reflected in the overall cost save. The Bosch Group is a leading global supplier of technology and services. It employs roughly 375,000 associates worldwide (as of December 31, 2015). The company generated sales of 70.6 billion euros in 2015. Its operations are divided into four business sectors: Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology. The Bosch Group comprises Robert Bosch GmbH and its roughly 440 subsidiaries and regional companies in some 60 countries. Including sales and service partners, Bosch s global manufacturing and sales network covers some 150 countries. Teknia has been supplying BOSCH with multiple parts from several plants: Teknia Uhersky Brod, San Luis Potosí, Rzeszow, Manresa and Sao Paulo. The recognition received on this occasion is a result of constant effort of the whole team and the goal is to maintain high standards to be awarded the status of Preferred Supplier in the following years as well 2
Y ear after year Mr. Tomasz Kwinta, Teknia Kalisz employee, represents Teknia in various running competitions. On the 24 th and the 25 th of June 2016, he took part in the overnight run Bieg Świętojański in Szczypiorno near Kalisz in. It is an annual, already 12 th edition of the run, which does not end on the finishing line as usual competitions, but instead the specified time interval is set. The winner is the runner who runs the longest distance from the dusk to the dawn. This year, the run began at 9:11pm on Friday 24 th and finished at 4:30am on Saturday, the 25 th. Teknia Kalisz racing in Bieg Świętojański Tomasz Kwinta represents Teknia in various running competitions This year the weather conditions were extremely difficult. Despite the fact that the race was held at night, the temperature at the start reached around 30 C. Only years of training and acquired strength and stamina allowed Tomasz to achieve this goal, which is to run till the very last minute. During the course of the ongoing 7 hours and 19 minutes of the competition, Tomasz ran the distance of 73.6 km and was ranked on the third position in the general classification, which is the biggest achievement of his career up to date. In the early morning scenery, shortly after the sunrise, our employee was awarded with a beautiful cup and numerous applauses, standing among the group of the best ultra-marathoners 3
M UCI mountain bike marathon World Cup Tomasz Studziński continues with Mountain Bike competitions r. Tomasz Studziński, our employee from Teknia Kalisz like in previous year took part in UCI Mountain Bike Marathon World Cup held in the Italian Selva Val Gardena, on Sella Ronda Hero route. After last year experience, Tomasz s intention was to finish the race within 8 hours. Weather conditions - low temperature, rain, occasional snow, and blustery wind thwarted the plan, however, with the time 8:28:30 he was ranked 99 th, which is a significant improvement in comparison to the result achieved on this very same route last year when he finished 188 th. Congratulations to Tomasz on his strong desire to improve his performance year after year! 4
A TAZ & TUB from the Plastic Division join the Forces utoliv has awarded two of our production plants dedicated to plastic injection: Teknia Azuqueca and Teknia Uhersky Brod, for the production of passenger airbag housings for PSA as a final customer. This project becomes another milestone in the history of the Group because it is the first time when two Teknia plants carry out together the same project. This collaboration shows an efficient internal communication and coordination within the Group backed up by the professional teams from both plants, which successfully managed to get this project ahead. The business relations with Autoliv are enhancing thanks to the global nature of Teknia as one of the leading suppliers TEKNIA introduced as a Business Case at CIAC M TAZ: TAZ Production Plant (Azuqueca de Henares, SP); Nivnice: TUB Production Plant (Nivnice, CZ) r. Antonio Miralles (Group CFO, in the photo on the left) and Mr. Ignacio Becerril (Group IT Manager, in the photo on the right) were invited to the Professional Business Management Day organized by CIAC Catalan Cluster of the Automotive Industry on July 7 th. Our representatives from Teknia gave a speech about the challenges and keys in the business management in the automotive industry, specifically focused on the digital transformation in this sector. We are proud that Teknia was invited to this event as an example of a solid and recognized company in the automotive sector. It is also an honor for Teknia to be invited from this important Spanish cluster even though we are not a member, which proves that our brand is renowned in the automotive industry 5
