Illinois St., Indianapolis, IN 46208, www.rivi.org Riviera Club Historic Outdoor Pool using four 50-meter lanes. Colorado timing system will be used without touch pads to include (1) semi-automatic wireless and (2) manual watches. Water Depth: At a distance of 3 feet 3 ½ inches (1 meter) to 16 feet 5 inches (5 meters) from the start end is 4 feet. Starting blocks may be available. The competition course has not been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4). ELIGIBILITY: Swimmer(s) must be registered with USA Swimming prior to the competition. Age as of June 24, 2016 shall determine the swimmer s age for the entire meet. ***Indiana Swimming does not process on-site athlete registration. RULES: Current USA Swimming and Indiana Swimming rules will govern this meet. At a sanctioned competitive event, USA Swimming athlete members must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member coach during warm-up, competition, and warm-down. The Meet Director or Meet Referee shall assist the athlete in making arrangements for such supervision. Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, restrooms, or locker rooms. Changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is prohibited. Coaches MUST constantly display their current USA Swimming coach credential to gain deck access. The meet referee reserves the right to ask for coach credential display and/or deny deck access if coach does not comply or card is no longer valid/current. In swimming competitions, the competitor must wear only one swimsuit in one or two pieces except as provided in USA Swimming Rule 205.10.1. All swimsuits shall be made from textile materials. For men, the swimsuit shall not extend above the navel nor below the knees, and for women, shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulder, nor extend below the knee. MEET FORMAT: Five timed final sessions: one Friday evening, two on Saturday, and two on Sunday. Clerk of Course will be offered for all 10 & U events, located near the bridge entrance area.
ENTRY Entries will be accepted starting Monday, May 23, 2016. Entry deadline will be Monday, June 6, 2016. INFORMATION: Deadline may be extended if the meet is not full. Entries will be processed in the order they are received. Riviera Swim Club reserves the right to limit select events to complete the session within the requirements of USA Swimming and Indiana Swimming rules. Once entries have been processed, team contacts will be notified via e-mail of their entry status by noon, Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Corrections, deletions, and/or additions (space permitted) will be accepted via e-mail only through Tuesday, June 21, 2016. In the event that entries are limited, the host team must return the entry fees to the club(s) whose swimmers are not allowed to compete in the specific event(s). All swimmers MUST sign in on sheets at the entrance 45 minutes prior to the start of the meet. Failure to sign in may result in the swimmer being scratched. SCHEDULE: AWARDS: Warm up in the 4-lane competition 50-meter pool and adjacent 50-yard pool. Continuous warm up available at the south end in the 6-foot deep, 25-yard pool. Session 2 warm-ups on Saturday and Sunday will be held in the 50-yard and 6-foot deep, 25-yard pool while the Open Age Group Session competition is occurring in the 50-meter pool. Medals for 1 st -4 th, ribbons for 5 th -8 th for 8 & under, 9-10, and 11-12 (Saturday and Sunday only).
Special Trophy for fastest (Friday 50-meter events) combined time for 11-12, 13-14, and 15 & over Boys and Girls. Awards will not be mailed. Please pick them up prior to leaving. Final results will be posted and available on Meet Mobile. ADMISSION: $5.00 per person. 10 & under free. Includes access and use of the pool facilities for one day. The Riviera Outdoor Pool will remain open (until 8 pm) for members and visitors during the meet. Admission includes the use of the facilities for the day. No parents will be allowed on the Pool Island during the meet if they are not volunteering. GENERAL Weather: When meets must be postponed or canceled, the following shall apply: INFORMATION: a. If a meet or portion thereof is canceled due to weather or other conditions beyond the control of the host club: (1) If the meet has started and conditions beyond the control of the host club (such as thunderstorms for an outdoor meet or civil defense ordering an indoor meet not to operate due to a winter storm) cause a meet to delete events or postpone them until later, the host club shall not be obliged to return entry fees for those events. (2) If the entire meet is canceled, the host club shall be obliged to return the entry fees. (3) If the entire meet is rescheduled, the host club shall contact all entrants and inform them of the rescheduled dates. If the entrant can still participate, the host club shall keep the entry fees and honor the entry. If the entrant cannot participate on the new date, the host club shall be obliged to return the entry fees. No entrant, once stating that he cannot participate on the new date, should expect to have a spot held in the meet for a later entry. b. If the meet is held, even during inclement weather, the host club shall not be obliged to return entry fees. Tent set up area will be permitted on the tennis courts at the north end of the pool. Observation of the meet can be from deck seating provided around the pool, or bring your swimsuit and jump in to get a water-level view. Locker room changing areas with showers are available. No glass containers or alcohol will be allowed. Officials and Volunteers: We welcome the assistance of your USA Swimming officials and volunteer timers.
