Sanction #IN and United States Masters Swimming (USMS), Greater Indiana Masters Sanction # The Riviera Club, 5640 N Illinois St., Indianapolis, IN 46208 www.rivi.org Riviera Club Historic Outdoor Pool using four 50 meter lanes. Colorado timing system will be used without touch pads to include (1) Semi-Automatic Wireless and (2) Manual watches. Water Depth: at a distance of 3 feet 3 ½ inches (1 meter) to 16 ft. 5 inches (5 meters) from the start end is 4 ft. Starting blocks may be available. The competition course has not been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4), Swimmer(s) must be registered with USA Swimming or USMS prior to the competition. Age Group age as of June 29 th 2013 shall determine the swimmer s age for the entire meet. Masters age is determined by age as of December 31 st of current year. ***Indiana Swimming does not process on-site athlete registration. ***Greater Indiana Masters does not process on site athlete registrations. Current USA Swimming, USMS and Indiana Swimming rules will govern this meet. USA Swimming Rules 202.3.2- At a sanctioned competitive event, USA Swimming athlete members must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member coach during warm-up, competition, and warm-down. The Meet Director or Meet Referee shall assist the athlete in making arrangements for such supervision. Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker room. Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is not appropriate and is strongly discouraged. Coaches MUST constantly display their current USA Swimming coach credential to gain deck access. The meet referee reserves the right to ask for coach credential display and/or deny deck access if coach does not comply or card is no longer valid/current. In swimming competitions, the competitor must wear only one swimsuit in one or two pieces except as provided in USA Swimming rule 205.101.1. All swimsuits shall be made from textile materials. For men, the swimsuit shall not extend above the navel nor below the knees, and for women, shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulder, nor extend below the knee. 1
MEET FORMAT: ENTRY INFORMATION: All Events are 50 Meter Timed Finals. Individual events will be swum and scored by the swimmers age group. Clerk of Course will be offered for all 8 & under and 9/10 events, located near the bridge entrance area. Entries will be accepted starting: Monday June 17, 2013. Entry deadline will be: Tuesday June 2 2013. Deadline will be extended if the meet is not full. We reserve the right to limit any event t achieve a reasonable timeline. Once entries have been processed team contacts will be notified via mail of their entry status by 8:00 P.M. Wednesday June 26, 2013. Corrections, deletions and/or additions (space permitted) will be accepted via e-mail only through Thursday, June 27, 2013. Any additions or corrections after June 27, 201 will be considered deck entries and the deck entry fee of $8.00 will apply. NO TIME entries will be accepted. Failure to sign in may result in the swimmer being scratched. Warm-up will be 8:00 8:45 AM. Sign in sheets will come down at 8:30 AM. Meet starts at 9:00 AM. Warm up in the 4 lane competition 50 Meter pool. For Age Group Only (No Awards will be presented to Masters. Awards will not be mailed, please pick them up prior to leaving) Medals for 1-4 th - For All Ages Ribbons for 5-8 th - For 8 & Under, 9-10 Boys & Girls 5X7 easel style Trophy for Fastest (4 Events) combined time-for 11-12, 13-14, 15+over Boys & Girls $5.00 per person, Under 3 Free. Includes access and use of the pool facilities for the day. The Riviera Outdoor Pool will remain open (until 8 PM) to members and visitors during the meet. Admission includes the use of the facilities for the day. No parents will be allowed on Pool Island during the Meet if they are not volunteering. Weather: When meets must be postponed or cancelled, the following shall apply: a. If a meet or portion thereof is cancelled due to weather or other conditions beyond the control of the host club: (1) If the meet has started and conditions beyond the control of the host club (such as thunderstorms for an outdoor meet or civil defense ordering an indoor meet not to operate due to a winter storm) cause a meet to delete events or postpone them until later, the host club shall not be obliged to return entry fees for those events. (2) If the entire meet is cancelled, the host club shall be obliged to return the entry fees. (3) If the entire meet is rescheduled, the host club shall contact all entrants and inform them of the rescheduled dates. If the entrant can still participate, the host club shall keep the entry fees and honor the entry. If the entrant cannot participate on the new date, the host club shall be obliged to return the entry fees. No entrant, once stating that he cannot participate on the new date, should expect to have a spot held in the meet for a later entry. b. If the meet is held, even during inclement weather, the host club shall not be obliged to return entry fees. Observation of the meet can be from deck seating provided around the pool or bring your swimsuit and jump in to get a water level view. Locker room changing areas with showers are available.
