The Ottawa New Edinburgh Club (ONEC) is organizing this leg of the Row3Capitals Relay. The tour ends in Ottawa on Canada Day; the final take-out point will be governed by Canada 150 activities. This tour is a Sculling for Sight event to raise funds for The FOUNDATION FIGHTING BLINDNESS Over 1 million Canadians are living with blinding retinal eye diseases. Some were born blind. Others have experienced vision loss as teenagers or during adulthood. The FFB s mission is to lead the fight against blindness by advancing retinal disease research, education and public awareness. Donations Monies for this cause will be raised through individual donations. Please send your donation, and encourage your friends to donate, to The FOUNDATION FIGHTING BLINDNESS. You may make your donation under Row3Capitals : http://bit.ly/2iudrvp.

2 Degree of Difficulty This is an intermediate to expert tour in coxed touring quads. All scullers should have undertaken a multi-day rowing tour and be capable of sculling 35 km in a day. (Please note that in touring, the stroke is slower to conserve energy and we share coxing duties.) Seat Sharing During a tour, everyone rows all the time, although coxing duties are rotated. Generally you occupy a seat for the entire tour. On the Canada 150 Row3Capitals Relay, you may choose to occupy a seat for the entire tour or share a seat on alternate or consecutive days. Rowers are responsible for making their own sharing arrangement. Registration (space is limited to 20 seats) See the OAR Website for the deposit form and instructions to reserve your seat. http://adventurerowing.ca/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/deposit-form- ROW3CAPITALS.docx The deposit for the Rideau Canal North Tour is $120; which covers seat charges and boat costs. (For those sharing a seat, the deposit is $60 each.) The cheque should be made out to Ontario Adventure Rowing Association and sent to Donna Spiegel as per the link above. The Rideau Canal North Tour cost is approximately $175 which includes 4 lunches, snacks / water, conveyance of rowers, souvenir t-shirt, boat launch, overnight storage fees, etc. Accommodations and dinners are not included. The cheque should be made out to ONEC Touring Committee and sent to either Liane Bell or Joan Robertson (see registration form below for further information). If your club is not a member of OAR there is an additional $60 (or $60 US for non-canadian residents) charge per person to join OAR. Deadlines: Deposit to OAR, c/o Donna Spiegel: April 15, 2017.
