Ruby Eyes Commenced awkwardly. Raced greenly in the straight. Russian Rick Raced wide without cover for a majority of the event. Va Bene Amore Was held up rounding the home turn and when obtaining a tight run to the outside of Ruby Eyes made contact with Calabah Flame. Shifted inwards quickly under pressure near the 100 metres. Haski On straightening became unbalanced after racing close to the running rail. Shampers When questioned regarding the disappointing performance rider B. Allen stated that his mount over raced in the early stages and as a result failed to finish the race off as expected. Race 2 CEC HOOPER & SONS MAIDEN PLATE - 1200 metres: Mookcat Was bumped at the start by Circumstantial which commenced awkwardly and shifted out. Rider, A. Mallyon stated that his mount, which performed poorly, appeared to travel satisfactorily in the early stages however failed to respond when urged along prior to straightening and in his opinion something may be amiss with the filly. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Circumstantial Commenced awkwardly and bumped another runner. Returned having cast its off fore plate. Himeji Jo Raced wide without cover for a majority of the event. Was bumped in onto Mookcat near the 1000 metres by Mai Thai which initially shifted in before then being taken inwards further by React. As D. Bates (Mai Thai) and H. McKechnie (React) both corrected their mounts within in a reasonable time frame, stewards took no further action other than advising them to take more care in similar circumstances. Mai Thai Raced four wide for the majority of the event. React Raced wide in the early stages and after being unable to obtain a forward position was restrained near the 800 metres to gain cover. Ingenious Was crowded for room over the concluding stages by Circumstantial which shifted under pressure. R. Plumb rider of Circumstantial was advised to show greater caution in similar circumstances. Race 3 AGRITECH RURAL MAIDEN PLATE (1) - 1600 metres: Blood And Sand Was slow to begin. Eves Journey - Slow to begin.
Marikoriko Got its head up near the 1300 metres when being restrained to gain cover. Commenced to over-race considerably having to be checked off heels near the 1200 metres when the pace slackened. Had to be eased when awkwardly placed on heels round the home turn. Iceyfiable Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Centenary Shot Raced wide without cover from the 1000 metres. Rider, D. Bates stated that after travelling well the gelding failed to respond to his riding in the straight. Extra Cover Had to be restrained near the 1100 metres to avoid the heels of Marikoriko which had lost ground. Buffer Hill Near the 1100 metres had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Extra Cover which had lost ground. Race 4 TRADELINK MAIDEN PLATE (2) - 1600 metres: Wanion Was fractious at the barriers getting it hind leg caught on the barrier partition. Wanion was declared a late withdrawal on veterinary advice at 1.33pm Trainer, D. Daffy was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding. All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on the late scratching to be refunded. Lucky Blazer had to be checked losing ground when disappointed for clear running near the 500 metres to the inside of Miss Moniker which when weakening shifted out slightly before returning to the rail, rider. A. Whelan was reminded to take sufficient care in similar circumstances. Rider, G. Cartwright was warned after using her whip shortly after passing the winning post. Braeview Miss Passing the 500 metres had to be checked off the heels of Lucky Blazer which had suffered interference shortly before hand. As a result Braeview Miss lost significant ground. Race 5 AGT FOODS AUSTRALIAN MAIDEN PLATE - 2050 metres: Family Gossip After making contact with the enclosure fencing underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed it to start. Bryanna - After making contact with the enclosure fencing underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Commenced awkwardly. Starlight Prince Over-raced getting its head up in the air in the early stages. Novative - Rider, D. Bates stated that in his opinion the gelding did not handle todays heavy track conditions. This Horse Here Rider, C Robertson stated that in his opinion the filly did not handle todays heavy track conditions. Mo Em Down When questioned regarding the improved performance today trainer Mr. M. Sell stated that the gelding had raced in a forward positon at Geelong at it is only start, however rounding the home turn on that occasion shifted out abruptly and almost dislodged its rider before dropping out to run last. He added that today with the benefit of race experience he had expected an improved outcome. Divine Brown Had to be checked when tightened for room passing the winning post on the first occasion. Was unable to improve when held up behind tiring runners from the 800 metres until near the 600 metres. Rider, R. Maloney was fined the sum of $200 for using his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100 metres. Styallo Raced wide without cover for a majority of the event. Holly McKechnie - Pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137(a) for careless riding, the carelessness being that passing the winning post on the first occasion she permitted her mount (Asellus) to shift in when insufficiently clear of Divine Brown (R. Maloney) which was tightened for room having to be checked by its rider. H. McKechnie had her license to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight 13 th July and to expire at midnight 24 th July, a suspension of 11 race meetings (3 Metro, 8 Prov). In assessing the matter stewards took into account H. McKechnies guilty plea, her good record and deem the incident to be in the mid-range.
Race 6 REDNIC ROCK BM58 HANDICAP - 2050 metres: Gift Of Primus Raced keenly in the early stages. Fantastic Magic Raced wide in the early stages until being ridden along in an attempt to obtain a forward position which it did after being urged along near the 1100 metres. Tons Of Dash Was urged along from passing the 900 metres wide around the field. Fine Embers Was held up when unable to improve from the 600 metres until passing the 500 metres. Penny To Sell C. Robertson was reprimanded for failing to ride the 5 th place getter to the finish. In assessing penalty stewards took into account that they did not feel that his actions affected the result of the race. Had to be eased shifting out making contact with Twelfth Raj passing the winning post on the first occasion when avoiding the heels of Amity Val which slackened the pace of the race after obtaining the lead. Rider, H McKechnie was advised to be mindful of runners following in similar circumstances. Shortly after straightening was disappointed for clear running to the inside of Fantastic Magic having to be steadied outwards shortly after. Twelfth Raj Passing the winning post on the first occasion had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Heebites (C. Hall) which shifted in. Whilst stewards noted that Twelfth Raj had received a bump from Penny To Sell which was to its inside, they nonetheless severely reprimanded C. Hall for failing to allow sufficient clearance when shifting ground. Humorous Bet - Rider A. Mallyon reported that the mare failed to handle todays heavy track conditions. Race 7 WIMMERA AQUATRIAL BM58 HANDICAP (1) - 1100 metres: Aldos Gold Commenced awkwardly. Rider, H. McKechnie reported that in her opinion the gelding failed to handle todays heavy track conditions. Misspiel Raced wide without cover for a majority of the event. Rider, G. Cartwright report that in her opinion the mare did not handle todays heavy track conditions. Alberti Was restrained outwards shortly after straightening to obtain clear running. The Blonde Alibi Raced wide without cover from passing the 800 metres. Rider, D. Yendall report that in his opinion the mare felt uncomfortable in its action, a post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Race 8 MURTOAS BIG WEEKEND BM58 HANDICAP (2) - 1100 metres:

Airfare Commenced awkwardly. Under Gods Sky Raced wide without cover for a majority of the event. Race 9 QLS LOGISTICS BM64 HANDICAP - 1200 metres: Bossy Miss Commenced awkwardly. Rider, C. Robertson reported that the filly failed to handle todays heavy track conditions. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Broad Shoulders Bumped with Shortspresso on jumping away. Laid inwards under pressure in the straight. Shortspresso Bumped with Broad Shoulders on jumping away. Following the event Stewards spoke with all riders in Race 10 following concerns regarding visibility during Race 9. Following submissions from the riders from Race 9 it was decided to continue on with the last race with particular attention to be paid to the weather conditions to ensure visibility would be at a suitable level. Race 10 MURTOA IGA + LIQUOR BM58 HANDICAP - 1600 metres: The Narcissist Got its head up on jumping away losing ground. Got its head up when racing keenly near the 1300 metres. Dusty Mamba Was slow to begin. Rider, M. Julius reported that the gelding never travelled well on todays heavy surface. A post race veterinary revealed no abnormalities. Prince Jester Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Consul Reef Raced keenly in the early stages. Crowded for room on the home turn to the inside of Miss Lamps which was taken inwards slightly by Mohini (J Childs). J Childs was advised to show greater caution in similar circumstances. Rider, D. Bates reported that the gelding too fiercely in the early stages and as a result failed to finish the race off as expected. My Friend Stan Got its head up when being restrained to gain cover near the 1400 metres. Chantilly Milly Got its head up when racing keenly in the middle stages.

Race 7 The Blond Alibi Supplementary Reports Darryl Oakey Racing Victoria Stewards today concluded an inquiry into a report from Racing Analytical Services Limited, confirming the presence of a banned substance in accordance with the provisions of AR81(B). Such substance was detected in the urine sample provided by track rider Darryl Oakley at Stawell track work on June 2 nd 2016. Darryl Oakley pleaded guilty to a breach of the rules under the provisions of AR81A(1)(a) for having provided a sample which was found upon analysis to contain the banned substance; Cannabinoids. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account Darryl Oakleys personal circumstances, honesty and guilty plea, however noted his previous breaches under this rule. Darryl Oakley had his licence to ride track work suspended for eighteen (18) months commencing midnight June 24 th 2016, at which time he was stood down, and to expire on December 25 th 2017. Darryl Oakley must provide a clear urine sample prior to being permitted to ride again.
