SKI RACING

Ski Racing 101 Welcome to the BVSC Ski Racing Programs. With something for all ages from Under 10 to Under 100, we ve got you covered! From early season camps, dryland fitness opportunities, and a comprehensive in season training schedule, our programs promote skill development and a passion for the sport. The Structure BVSC s racing programs offer two streams catering to various levels of commitment. Our O-Cup stream offers an all inclusive approach to training and racing, guaranteeing as much possible time on snow while balancing school and other commitments. Athletes in this stream will compete in the O-Cup series for each age group. These Programs are geared towards athletes and parents interested in extending the ski racing season and seeking a diverse range of competitive experiences. The season for this stream kicks off early in the winter with the preseason camp and lasts until Spring, with many different racing and training options throughout. Our SOD stream runs for the more traditional 9 weeks starting Dec 28-31, Jan 3-5 & Weekends Starting Jan 7-Mar 5. While these athletes are encouraged to participate on as many Fridays and attend out of season camps, programs are based on weekend attendance. Participants in this stream will compete in the SOD series for each age group. This series offers 5 races of different disciplines and the opportunity for athletes to score as an individual. A bit about the schedule The race schedule is determined by Alpine Ontario (AOA) and is issued early in the New Year. Athletes race on several weekends during the season. Not all races are in the escarpment area. The commitment to ski racing will involve some early morning winter driving. Coaching Expense/Additional Day Costs/Race Entry Fees In addition to Coaching Fees, when a coach has to travel and stay out of town for a competition/training their expenses for accommodation, meals, travel and travel day fees will be shared and charged to the participating athletes. This would include, but are not limited to, out of SOD Provincial Championships or National Championships, CANAM Finals, Whistler Cup etc. There will be a daily coaching fee applied to any additional days that a racer chooses to participate in, above what is included in their pre-registered program. This may include such things as extra training days, or invitational events (ex: Mastermind, POD Cup, U14/U16 Spring Series, SOD Championships, Provincial and National Championships, CANAMs, Whistler Cup). Friday Training and Additional Coaching days are purchased as Pay As You Go individual days at a fee of $73. Race Entry Fees & AOA Levee Fees will be in addition to your program fees.
