Emergency Procedure Section 6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES SAA/SNZ HB76: Dangerous Goods Initial Emergency Response Guide Spills / Clean up Precautions for Safe Handling Conditions for Safe Storage Small spills can be wiped up with a sponge or mop. Flush with large quantities of water down drain. Large spills, PREVENT SOLUTION FROM ENTERING DRAINS AND WATERWAYS. Evacuate personnel from immediate area of spill. Neutralise by sprinkling 33 grams of Glycine (free base) powder per 5 litres of spilled. Alternatively GN liquid can be used as per the label directions. Mix with mop or other tool and allow 5 minutes for deactivation of the o-phthalaldehyde. Scoop up and place into a clean, sealable, plastic container. Flush area and tools with copious amounts of water. Section 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE Contact Whiteley Corporation sales representative for advice when using this product for any application other than that outlined on the label or technical bulletin. Any non-intended or non-authorised use of this product may result in personal injury or damage to equipment. Store product in original container. Wash thoroughly after handling product. Wear appropriate P.P.E. Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated area. Keep container tightly sealed. Store below 30 C out of direct sunlight. Respiratory protection Not required for normal use. A respirator may be required if there is not adequate ventilation.
