ALL AMERICAN QUARTER HORSE CONGRESS NYATT INFORMATION AND CONDITIONS General Information The All American Quarter Horse Congress hosts the largest National Youth Team Tournament (NYATT) competition in the world. The NYATT will be held Sunday, October 19, 2014 during the Congress at the Ohio Exposition Center in Columbus, Ohio. Please refer OQHA.com for more information, schedule and times. Team Eligibility Teams consist of 4-12 members and must be sponsored by a state or regional Quarter Horse Association. Youth associations are not permitted to sponsor Teams. Teams will participate in the following six classes: Showmanship, Horsemanship, Western Pleasure, Reining, Hunter Under Saddle and Barrel Racing. A maximum of two team members may compete in any one class. The same contestant may compete in no more than two classes. Teams shall consist of residents of no more than three states or provinces (Canadian). These three states/provinces must be bordering states/provinces, and youth must have primary residency in one of these three states/provinces (exception: Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico which are divided by ocean or gulf; entries of which will be reviewed by the NYATT Committee on an individual basis). The NYATT committee will accept the official AQHA Hardship Change of Affiliation. Associations must provide bylaws, names of officers and directors and criteria for team member eligibility. Teams must provide current address and proof of headquarter location in their by-laws. Team entries will not be accepted unless all association information is submitted with the entries, under one cover. Any infractions of NYATT rules and procedures may result in a one-year suspension of the team from NYATT competition. Individual Eligibility Only contestants 18 years or younger as of January 1, 2014 showing registered Quarter Horses (conforming to ownership requirements as defined in the 2014 AQHA Rule Book) and sponsored by a state or regional Quarter Horse association may compete. Only two contestants from each association may compete in any one class. The same contestant may compete in no more than two classes. In Reining and Barrel Racing, a youth may represent the team in both slots, but must ride two different horses. One horse will not be permitted to be shared by contestants on different teams. A contestant may compete on only one team.

Mandatory Advisors Meeting Team Advisors should check in at the entry office in Congress Hall to receive final instructions and schedule changes. There will be a mandatory advisors meeting in the Rhodes Center on Saturday, October 18 at 10 a.m. Entries Deadline: August 25, 2014 Entries must be submitted on official NYATT Entry Forms Entries must be filled out in their entirety, including the team member s name, address of residency, horse s name, registration number and owner. Sponsoring association by-laws, names of officers and directors and criteria for team member eligibility must be included with entries and submitted under one cover. Entries must be received on or before August 25, 2014. Entry fee is $20 per contestant, per class and must be submitted under one check. Alternate Entries-Each advisor receives an Alternate Entry form with the team entry packet. Each advisor may designate up to two alternates per class. The Alternate Entry form must be submitted with regular entries. Substitutions will be accepted until 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 18. No other changes will be permitted. Judging Every class, except Barrels, will be judged by three judges whose scores will be combined for the final placings. There will be fifteen (15) placings in each class. For Barrels: First place ties will be broken by a run off. Contestants may choose to flip a coin to break first place ties in lieu of a run off. Ties for second (2) through fifteen (15) placing will be broken by a flip of the coin. Tabulating and Standings

First place will receive 15 points, second place 14 points, etc. After the six events have been judged, the total number of points accumulated by each team will be tabulated and the team with the highest number of points will be the NYATT Champion. In case of a tie, the following tiebreakers will be used in the following order until a champion is determined: (1) The team placing in the greater number of events. (2) The team winning the greater number of events, then greater number of seconds, etc. (3) The team with the fastest time in Barrel Racing. Class Awards Awards will be presented to the winners in each class. Medallions will be presented to the top fifteen in each class. Team Awards Ceremony NYATT Awards Ceremony will start at approximately 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2014. Teams will be introduced as they enter the arena. Only those contestants that compete in classes during the NYATT competition will be allowed to participate in the awards ceremony walk in. Each Team member that walks in will be presented a commemorative belt buckle from the Ohio Quarter Horse Association and Montana Silversmiths. Absolutely no mascots, alternates or team members who did not compete will be allowed to participate in the awards ceremony. During the awards ceremony, the top-fifteen teams will be recognized and will be given medallions. Team trophies will be given to the top 6 teams. Individual awards will be given to members of the Champion Team. Stalling All stalls will be in the Agent s name signified on their open entry. Only the team-only horses will be stalled under the sponsoring association s name. Therefore, please remind your youth that upon arriving to the stall office, their stalls will be in the name of the agent listed on their open entry. Any contestants who requests to stall next to one another may do so by going to the stall office and requesting stalls together. Remember...the stalls will be listed under the Agent's name. The sponsoring association s name will be the agent for all team-only horse stalls, ONLY. Disputes

Any dispute as to operation of NYATT classes, matters of protocol, NYATT committee issues, and all other issues shall be decided by the All American Quarter Horse Congress Tri-Chairmen and the NYATT committee. All decisions will be final and considered acceptable by all exhibitors. Please direct all completed forms and fees, general questions and information to the following: OQHA Attn: Lisa Martin P.O. ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Contestants that are entering open classes whose open entries are being sent in with a trainer: The trainer/agent will submit all open entries, payments and stall requests, with those stalls being in that trainer/agent s name. NYATT entries are made by the team advisor separate from the open entries. Contestants that are entering open classes, but are not affiliated with a trainer/agent during the Congress: The open entries and stall payments are the responsibility of that individual. The entry form should be completed in its entirety and sent in with entry fee/s and stall fee/s. At the bottom of the open entry form, it is required to complete the trainer/agent information. All stalls for horses entered on that form will be in the name of that trainer/agent. Commonly, the parent is listed as the agent. Team-only: There is nothing needed to be submitted by the youth. The advisor enters the youth in the NYATT class and marks yes in the team-only section of the NYATT entry form. Stall payments for the team-only horses must be submitted with the NYATT entry. Each stall is $175. Team-only horses can only be stalled in the $175 stalls. If a team member is team-only, but the horse is being shown by another rider in an open class, the stall will be listed under the agent s name from the open entry; therefore, no remittance of the stall is needed. Terminologies Open entries: Entries for any class being held at the Congress, other than NYATT classes Agent: Person responsible for that entry. At the bottom of all open entry forms is an area for agent name, address and phone. The person listed as agent will be called if there are questions. Also all stalls for the horses on that entry are in that person s name. Usually the trainer is the agent for entries. For youth who are not traveling with or have an affiliation with a trainer during the Congress, the agent it is usually a parent. Team-only: Members and horses that are competing in the NYATT ONLY, not in any other class.
