Cart fees for guests of members are included in the guest green fees. During special events, carts may not be available. Where advance tee times are made, the pro shop will endeavor to reserve one cart for those in either cart program. 1

Billing Cycle for Annual Cart Fee Programs The special annual cart fee programs are based on a January December calendar and are payable by January 15th of each year. Current members who elect not to sign up for a cart program by January 1 st must wait until the following year to join a program. They will pay the daily cart rate each time they play. New club members who join during the year may sign up for a cart program on a prorated cost basis. Medical Leave of Absence Policy Until modified, the following Medical Leave of Absence Policy shall be applicable to all members of the Carolina Colours Golf club. Any Member in good standing may request from the Club a medical leave of absence. The request must be in writing, and must specify the medical reason supporting the request. Furthermore, the request must specify how long it is anticipated that the Member will be unable to play golf, and the date that the request, if granted, is to be effective. The Member is encouraged to provide third party medical verification supporting the request. The request shall be submitted to the General Manager of the Club. The General Manager shall review the request, and may request additional information, including but not limited to, third party medical verification if not initially submitted by the Member requesting the leave. The General Manager may grant the leave of absence if the General Manager determines that the request meets all prerequisites to approval. If the General Manager is uncertain that the request meets all prerequisites to approval, the General Manager shall refer the request to the Club Advisory Board for a final decision. Should a leave of absence be granted, notification shall be given by the General Manager to the Manager and to the head Golf Professional, which notification shall specify the duration of the leave. A medical leave of absence may be granted if the following conditions are met: 1. There exists or will exist a medical condition that will likely prevent the applicant from playing golf for at least 3 months. 2. The applicant has not previously been granted a medical leave of absence within the preceding year, nor has the applicant ever been granted previously more than 1 medical leave of absence. Every medical leave of absence granted shall be effective as of the 1 st day of a month (and may be retroactive to the beginning of the month in which the request is made, if applicant has not played golf during that month). The minimum duration of a medical leave of absence is 90 days, and the maximum period is 9 months. If a leave is granted, the 2

General Manager shall so notify the applicant in writing, and shall specify the beginning date of the leave, and the end date, based upon the anticipated duration of the incapacity. The end date may later be extended by the General Manager upon request of the Member and upon good cause shown that the medical condition will reasonably prohibit the Member from playing golf for a longer period than initially forecast, but in no event shall the duration exceed 9 months. The end date may also be shortened upon request of the Member seeking the leave, upon request, and upon a determination by the General manager that the medical condition justifying the leave has been alleviated to the extent that the Member can resume playing golf. During the duration of the leave of absence, the Member shall pay dues equal to the dues paid by a non-resident member. Furthermore, during the leave of absence, the Member shall not play golf at Carolina Colours Golf Club. The Member shall, however, be allowed to use the practice green and practice range if such use is consistent with the condition of the Member, or is appropriate to the member s rehabilitation. Golf Cart Standards for Member Owned Carts Golf carts may be purchased through Carolina Colours. If you purchase your own cart through another source, they must meet the following criteria and be pre-approved by Ken Gerhardt. A driver of a golf cart on the Carolina Colours Golf Course must possess a valid driver s license. Golf cart must be electric. Cart must be new or in like new condition with no visible damage, dents or rust with fresh looking paint. Must pay annual trail fee in order to operate the cart on the cart paths and golf course even if you are not a golfing member. Cart is not allowed to travel faster than 19.5 miles per hour. Color: o o Roof o o White/Ivory If purchasing from Club Car color may be almond Must have a roof Must be tan or almond 3

Equipment o Horn o Working tail lights and brake lights o Golf bag holder o 2 Sand holders o Optional windshield The following items are NOT allowed o Stickers of any kind o Gun racks o Flags o Decorations of any kind Our Walking Philosophy In determining a policy regarding playing golf without the use of a golf cart, several factors must be taken into consideration. These include the desire of some players to increase the amount of exercise while playing; the need to maintain a good pace of play; and the necessity of generating sufficient revenue to support a budget that allows the course to be maintained in good condition. The Carolina Colours Golf Club has attempted to balance these considerations in adopting its walking policy. Our Walking Policy Only members and their guests are permitted to walk and guests must be playing in the same foursome as the member. Guest green fees are not discounted if they walk. Non-members are not permitted to walk at any time. Members and their guests may walk on the following days and times: o Tuesday and Thursday: Anytime o Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays: After 12:00PM o Mondays: The course is closed. 4

Walkers are expected to maintain pace of play with the groups ahead. Use of push/pull carts is permitted. During inclement weather when carts are restricted to the cart paths, the Head Professional or General Manager may permit walking, including the use of push/pull carts, during non-walking times. Cart Fees will still be assessed on these occasions Residential use of Paths and Trails Most golf courses limit access to the golf course to members only, and for the sole purpose of playing golf. This is done primarily for safety, but also to help maintain a good pace of play, and to provide better security. It is important to remember that, even when golf is not being played on the course, maintenance is on-going, with both small and large vehicular traffic throughout the course. We all recognize, however, that the Carolina Colours course is a beautiful environment, and that all of our property owners contribute to its maintenance, so that it will enhance the value of all Carolina Colours properties. We therefore are, on an experimental basis, adopting a policy that allows limited access to the course for specified non-golf activities at times that minimize interference with golf play and maintenance. These privileges are revocable, and anyone found abusing them will have access revoked. If the policies are not widely followed, there will be no choice but to prohibit any non-golf access to the course, so all of our members and property owners are encouraged to call attention to witnessed policy violations, and to report them to management. Paths may only be used by club members, residents and property owners. They are off limits to non-residents. Walking, jogging and bicycling are permitted. No motorized vehicles are allowed except owned golf carts where annual trail fees are paid. You must remain on the paths and stay off of the fairways, greens and bunkers. You may use the paths prior to normal business hours for the course, and after the course closes for play. Specific times will vary depending on the time of year and will be sent to all residents via e-mail on a monthly basis. Should you encounter golfers on the course, please turn around and exit the course immediately. Walking will be allowed during the day on Mondays, when the course is normally closed, except when there are special events scheduled. Golf course ground crews will be out on the course before and after the course is open for play. We ask that you respect their duties and do not interfere or impede their work. 5

Lastly, pets are allowed provided they are on a leash and stay on the paths. Walkers must clean up after their pets and carry a doggy bag at all times. Dress Code Proper golf course attire is mandatory for members, their guests, member s children, and their guests while on the golf course and all practice areas. This dress code also applies to all non-members who are using the Carolina Colours golf facilities. Traditional denim attire is not permitted. Men and boys are expected to wear a shirt with sleeves and a collar, turtleneck, or mock turtleneck. Shirts shall be properly worn and presentable long shirt tails are encouraged to be tucked into trousers or shorts. Women and girls may wear sleeved or sleeveless blouses or shirts with collars, turtleneck or mock turtleneck, or appropriate crew or v-neck collars. Tee shirts and tank tops are not permitted. Improper attire also includes any clothing that is ripped, torn or soiled. Gym shorts, team athletic shorts, tennis shorts, swim attire and cut-offs are not permitted. Shoes are to be worn at all times on the course and practice areas. Carolina Colours is a soft spikes facility - metal spikes are not permitted. Cell Phone Policy The use of cell phones on the golf course and practice facilities is discouraged as they are a distraction to other golfers. If you must have a cell phone with you, the ringer should be turned off at all times and any conversations limited to emergencies. 6

Alcohol on the Golf Course Due to North Carolina State ABC Laws, absolutely no alcohol may be brought onto the golf course unless purchased at Carolina Colours. Accordingly, no coolers may be brought onto our facility without approval. Golf Cart Use Policy Golf cart use policies will be closely monitored by the Course Ranger and the Pro Shop. In the interest of protecting the golf course and the safety of our players, violations of golf cart policy may be dealt with by management Only two people on a cart at a time. Keep carts on the cart paths and away from greens and tees. When carts are allowed on the course, we will always follow a 90 rule. Carts must not cross ropes or lines that are in place to direct traffic, and all cart signs and turnout stakes must be obeyed. Cart drivers must have a valid driver s license. Carts must stay on the paths on all par 3 s. Pro Shop Check-In and Tee Times All players must check in with the Pro Shop prior to playing. Equity members may make tee times two weeks in advance. All other players, including Associate Members, may book tee times one week in advance. 7

Handicaps Handicaps make the game of golf more enjoyable by enabling players of differing abilities to compete on an equitable basis and helps promote friendly competitions. To compete in most events at Carolina Colours, you will need to have an established USGA handicap. A Handicap and Rules Committee has been established to ensure the proper posting and maintenance of scores, and that U.S.G.A. handicap rules are followed. You are encouraged to enter your score in the Pro Shop immediately after play or you may enter it on-line from your home computer. The Pro Shop can assist you in this process and enroll you in our system. Priority on the Course No fivesomes are permitted. Foursomes and threesomes always have precedence. A single player or twosome should not expect to play through threesomes or foursomes during busy times. When the course is not busy, you should allow faster players to play through. The Pro Shop will make every effort to arrange pairings for singles and twosomes. Pace of Play Players should play at a good pace and without delay, keeping up with the group ahead. If a group falls more than one clear hole behind the group ahead, that group may be asked to pick up their balls and position themselves in the appropriate place on the course. A group s position on the course is behind the group in front of it, not in front of the group behind it. Groups making the turn from the ninth to the tenth hole must proceed without undue delay. Groups which cause undue delay at the turn will lose their position on the course with no guarantee they will be able to continue. All players should make it a goal to play 18 holes in about four hours. In order to maintain a good pace of play, the Golf Professional will offer recommendations on which tees your group should play based on handicaps. 8

Driving Range Several driving range programs available: Pay a daily rate: Practice Sessions Warm up Prior to Tee Time o Members $ 5.00 $ 4.00 o Guests of members $ 5.00 $ 4.00 o Non-members $ 6.00 $ 5.00 Purchase an annual single or family rate for unlimited usage of the range all year long. This option will only be available to members. The plan must match the category of membership held. (i.e. family membership must elect family plan). o Single: $275.00 Game Warm Up Single - $125 o Family: $425.00 Game Warm Up Family - $175 Men s and Ladies Golf Programs The goals of the Carolina Colours men s and ladies golf programs are to: (1) Promote fellowship and friendly competition among our members; (2) Enhance our member s enjoyment of the game of golf; and (3) Help our members develop a respect for the rules and sportsmanship of the game, To accomplish these goals, there are three groups that will direct our men s and ladies golf programs: the Men s Golf Association (MGA), the Ladies Golf Association (LGA), and the Tournament and Events Committee. These groups will: Develop a schedule of planned events and social programs each year for members of the club. Conduct periodic meetings, with members, to ensure the Club is providing appropriate and enjoyable golf programs. Provide rules and training seminars. Schedule weekly organized play days for our club members. 9

MGA Play Days Reserved tee times on Wednesday and Friday beginning at 7:30AM. Start time will be delayed until 8:30AM in the winter. LGA Play Days Reserved tee times on Tuesday and Thursday beginning at 8:30AM. Start time will be delayed until 9:30AM during the winter. Walking Group Play Day Reserved tee times on Thursday beginning at 7:30 AM for organized walking groups. Start time will be delayed until 8:30 AM during the winter. Tournament and Events Committee Augment the MGA and LGA by developing a season long series of compelling and fun events, including our Couples Golf Program, as well as club tournaments. Develop annual tournament and major events calendar. Create social opportunities for our men and lady golfers. Periodically advise members and residents on golf related activities and events. 10

Pride Program All members are expected to display a sense of pride, ownership and respect for our golf course. The Golf Committee and Management has developed a Pride Program which will include: A volunteer program whereby our resident members will help maintain a specific hole, devoting about 1 hour per week filling divots on fairways and tees, and repairing ball marks on the green. The volunteers will use a Club cart and sand bottles. Developing recommendations and ideas to enhance the appearance and playability of the golf course. Communicating suggestions to our members on taking better care of the course during their play. Being a conduit between the Golf Committee and the Building and Grounds Committee. 11
