Dear Coaches and Athletic Directors: We would like to invite you to participate in the First Annual YBOA Hawaii Summer Classic. We want to make this event a memorable and fun tournament for players and fans. Below you will find valuable and important information for the tournament. Please read this information carefully. GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS All players and coaches must be YBOA Members. If you are already a member you will not need to pay again. YBOA Registration can be completed at www.yboa.org. Please follow national rules according to the website. Once registered, please submit team roster to YBOA Hawaii at yboahawaii@gmail.com Teams should report to the gymnasium 15 minutes before their scheduled game time. At that time, a copy of your team rosters/waivers shall be turned in to the tournament site director. Please be prepared to show birth certificate and photo ID for each player. Any team which does not turn in the proper forms will not be allowed to participate. The team will forfeit games until rosters/waivers are turned in. No roster changes will be allowed after sign in sheets have been turned in before the first game. Coaches or supervisors must accompany their teams to check in. Players must compete at their own grade level or higher and compete only on one team in any age division. All teams must have uniform shirts with visible numbers on the back. Gym shorts CAN NOT have pockets. Teams will be guaranteed four games. This will be subject to unforeseen weather conditions or forfeiture by a team. A forfeited game is considered a guaranteed game. See below for further information. The decisions of the officials and site director will be final. Protests will be accepted. (For protest guidelines, visit www.yboa.org ) A site director will be provided for each gym (site) along with scorekeepers and timers. Teams are responsible for checking the official bracket board at the site and are responsible to be aware of any changes. Teams not ready at the proper time or site due to a posted change in time, court, or site shall forfeit that game. A fiveminute grace period shall be allowed before a forfeit is declared. Team coach, representative, or parents should collect valuables. Gymnasium/YBOA will not be responsible for lost or stolen items. Each team must furnish their own warm-up balls. Game balls will be furnished. If games run behind, a 5-minute maximum warm-up will be provided. A game in suspension (electrical interruption, etc.) will be resumed from the point of suspension if it can be resumed. If not, the game will be considered complete at the time of disruption and be considered a guaranteed game. Team trophies (Places 1-4) and Individual trophies (First place and second place) will be awarded at the closing ceremonies. There will be a charge for admissions for everyone except players and coaches. The charge will be $3.00 for adults and $1.00 for students. Children under 5 are free. One pass will be good for one game day. Please have players and coaches get hand stamped at the door in order to avoid confusion when viewing other games in which they are not participating. Phones and locker rooms are not available for use. A player must in qualified to play in 8 th grade division (see National rules at www.yboa.org) IN THE EVENT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER If the tournament is cancelled, a processing fee of $20.00 will be withheld with the remainder of tournament fee being returned. If the tournament has begun (commencing on the first game of the day), a 50% refund of tournament fee will be given. If at least one-half of the first day of the tournament has been completed as determined by the tournament director, no refund will be given.
OFFICIAL WAIVER/ROSTER FORM TEAM NAME YBOA ID We ask that you send this form with your tournament entry fee. You may email the roster to yboahawaii@gmail.com or send it to the address listed above. This form must be turned in according to the rules before your team s first game otherwise your team will forfeit that game and any successive games until turned in. Please have a parent of each player sign below. They will be affirming the following: That the parent/guardian gives permission for their son (see name below) to play in the YBOA Tournament. That the parent/guardian gives authorization to YBOA Hawaii to post pictures of their child on the YBOA Hawaii website and/or Facebook page. That parent/guardian understands that the tournament, its sponsors, and any other tournament personnel have no and do not assume responsibility and do not carry an accident insurance for any players. By signing this, the parents assume full responsibility for his medical expenses and well being and waive any and all claims against the tournament management, officials, and facilities should injury occur whether on the premises of, or any other premises in which the said tournament takes place. JUNE 18,19, 20, 21, 22 2014 (FIVE DAY TOURNAMENT) Dear Coaches and Athletic Directors: We are excited to announce the 2014 YBOA Hawaii Summer Classic. This is a round-robin, tournament with a four game guarantee as follows: Eighth Grade Division (Ten to Twelve Teams) Opening ceremony to be held Wednesday June 18 at Hanalani Gym. Tournament to be held Thursday June 19 Sunday June 22. All games will be played at Ewa Mahiko, Hanalani or Halawa Gymnasiums. In an effort to continue to provide the very best experience we can in a youth tournament we will be utilizing the rules defined by the Youth Basketball of America. (www.yboa.org) Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. The entry fee is $425.00 per team if registration is received prior to May 18th 2014 and $500.00 thereafter. Registrations are only secure after the registration form and entry fee is received.
