Problem 1 There are 106 second grade students at Rockford Elementary. They were going on a field trip to Discovery Place on March 26th. On the day of the trip 16 students were out sick. If 9 students fit onto each activity bus, how many activity buses were needed to get the students safely to Discovery Place?

Problem 2 Ella Fitzgerald, a famous jazz singer, sang 6 songs during each set. She always sang 3 sets for each performance. If she performed 10 concerts in the month of March, how many songs did she sing in all?

Problem 3 Dalton Philips plays baseball with the Mooresville Eagles. He pitches 3 innings each game. There are 8 games per season. So far, this season, he has pitched 18 times. How many more games are left before the season is over? step 3:

Problem 4 Susie Taylor scored 4 goals in each of her first 3 soccer games this season. If Susie wants to score a total of 28 goals this season, how many more goals does she need to score?

Problem 7 Ansley Johnson was looking for a dress for the Father Daughter Dance. She went to 7 different stores with her mom and tried on 3 dresses at each one. If her mom only liked 4 of them, how many dresses did Ansley s mom not like?

Problem 8 Jason Carpenter has been collecting comic books for the last 4 years. He always buys 20 comic books each year. Unfortunately, 27 of them were damaged when his little brother accidentally spilled water on them. How many comic books were not damaged?

Problem 9 Morgan Reynolds has chores to do each week. Her daddy pays her $6 every Friday if she completes them all. For the last 6 weeks she has completed all of her chores. If Morgan uses $14 dollars to buy a new dress for her American Girl doll, how much money will she have left?

Problem 10 Mikey Simpson works every Saturday at his uncle s ice cream shop. He earns $8 an hour. Last Saturday he worked 7 hours and made $14 in tips. How much money did Mikey earn in all?

Problem 11 Six friends decided to share a package of 36 Oreo cookies equally. Once they each had their share two of the friends decided to give their cookies to Mr. Smith, the baseball coach. How many cookies did Mr. Smith receive from the two boys?

Problem 12 Discovery Place sells adult and child entry tickets. The adult ticket costs $12 each, and the child ticket costs $7 each. On Tuesday, Discovery Place sold 264 tickets. Of the 264 tickets sold, 164 were adult tickets. How much money did Discovery Place make from selling child tickets last Tuesday?

Problem 13 Zootastic charges $7 for an adult ticket and $5 for a child ticket. On Saturday 73 guests visited the zoo. Out of those guests 33 were adults and the rest were children. How much money did Zootastic make from child tickets?

Problem 14 Mr. Hamilton teaches karate every Tuesday and Thursday. On Tuesday he teaches 3 classes with 8 students in each class. On Thursday he teaches an adult class with 18 students. How many students does he teach each week?

Problem 15 Sharon planted 6 rows of tomato plants in her spring garden. Each row had 7 tomato plants. During a severe thunderstorm 11 of the tomato plants were washed away. How many tomato plants remained?

Problem 16 Farmer Tucker planted 8 rows of strawberry plants on the smallest field on his farm. Each row had 11 strawberry plants. If each plant had 10 strawberries, how many strawberries will Farmer Tucker harvest in May?

Problem 17 Patricia Fletcher had 427 shells in her collection. She had 3 different kinds of shells. Some were King s Crown Conch, 126 were Horse Conch, and 176 were Ladder Horn. How many of her shells were King s Crown?

Problem 18 Sharon Rhodes and Melissa Porter have been collecting chapter books ever since they began third grade. So far, Sharon has 36 and Melissa has 28 books. If they combined their books and decided to sort them into 8 piles, how many books will there be in each pile?

Problem 19 Charlie Higgens is a skateboard legend at our school. He practices 3 hours, 6 times each week. If he continues to practice the same amount of time for the next ten weeks, how much total time would he spend practicing?

Problem 20 Hannah Gilman has a list of chores to do each week. Every Saturday night her dad gives her $7 dollars for her allowance. She is saving up to buy a Lava lamp for her bedroom. The Lava lamp costs $45 dollars. If Hannah has saved her allowance for the last 4 weeks, how much more money does she need to save before she can buy the lamp?

Problem 21 Vince Gill, a country music artist, recorded 9 albums in the last 10 years. There are 12 songs on each album. If 63 of the songs were originals and the rest were covers, or remakes, how many of the songs were remakes?

Problem 22 Cecil Jenson works part-time at Brooklyn Brothers Pizza. He earns $6 an hour. Last Saturday he worked for 8 hours and made $43 dollars in tips. How much money did Cecil earn last Saturday?

Problem 23 Samantha Jones can draw 7 cartoons in one hour. Last week she drew cartoons for 4 days. Each day she worked for 2 hours. How many cartoons did she draw in all last week?
