Spaniels FIRST, SECOND or THIRD in an Open Stake; or FIRST in an All-Aged or Novice Stake except Stakes confined to Any Variety Spaniel [except Spaniel (English Springer) and Spaniel (Cocker)] for which Novice Stakes may not be licenced. Rules and Regulations Field Trials. 1 Dogs entered at Kennel Club Licenced Field Trials must be registered at the Kennel Club in accordance with Kennel Club Regulations for Classification and Registration B. 2 The committee shall have the power to refuse entries for a trial without giving a reason. 3 Substitution of entries will be allowed up to 48 hours prior to the Trial being run, provided that the substitute has an equivalent qualification for preference in the Draw and is eligible for that Stake. 4 All dogs resident outside the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete number before entry to the show/event can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the exhibitor/competitor. 5 If entries or nominations exceed the number of permitted runners, the right to compete in a Trial shall be decided by ballot. The result of the ballot will form the order of running. 6 Should circumstances so dictate the Society, in consultation with the judges, may alter arrangements as necessary. Such changes and the circumstances surrounding them will be reported to the Kennel Club. 7 No modification may be made to the schedule after publication except by permission of the Kennel Club, followed by advertisement in appropriate journals if time permits before closing of entries. 8 Judges at a Trial are prohibited from entering a dog which is recorded in their ownership or part ownership. 9 DOGS IN CARS ON HOT DAYS 12

Your dog is vulnerable and AT RISK if left in a vehicle in high temperatures and even on days considered as slightly warm. Please take care of your dog. If your dog is found to be at risk forcible entry to your vehicle may be necessary without liability for any damage caused. 10 Welfare of Dogs An exhibitor (or competitor) whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met and should not knowingly put their dogs health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. A breach of the regulation may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. 11 Videography and photography will only be permitted with the express permission of the chief steward and the host. Conditions of Entry. 1 Priority in the Draw will be given to members who joined the Society before 1 st March 2016. 2 If more than one entry is applied for, the second will not be drawn until all those seeking one entry have been drawn. 3 Members may make separate entries for each of the Novice Stakes, but having been successful in one will rank below other unsuccessful members in the Draw for the second Novice Stake. If entering both stakes, members may state their preference. 4 Refund of Entry Fees: Rule J.7 (f) applies. 5 Entries for retriever trials will be accepted via the FTMS on-line system. 6 Entries will not be accepted over the telephone or by e-mail. 7 An incorrect or eligible entry will be returned. All dogs must be registered with the Kennel Club in the name(s) of the owner(s). 8 Those wishing to receive a paper copy of the Draw must include an A5 stamped addressed envelope. The Draw can be sent via e- mail if required (please write e-mail address clearly). Reserves will be contacted by telephone in Draw order. If the contact cannot be established the offer will be passed onto the next on the list. 9 Any competitor not present at the meet when the Chief Steward announces the Trial has commenced will forfeit their place to the 13

reserve and may not demand a run thereafter, regardless of circumstances. ---o0o--- NB: Winners of Trophies should return their trophies to Martin Dennett, the Retriever Field Trial Secretary, or Jill Selwood, the Spaniel Field Trial Secretary, as appropriate, TWO WEEKS before the date of the relevant Trial. Winners of Trophies are reminded that they are responsible for the trophies safe custody and will have to make good any damage or loss incurred while in their keeping plus cost of engraving ---o0o--- Dog Registration Details in Field Trial Running Cards The Kennel Club have asked competitors in Field Trials to ask Club Field Trial Secretaries to correct any errors in respect of their dog s name in the Running Card BEFORE the card is submitted to the Kennel Club. The Kennel Club have had problems with owners not putting the correct registered name of their dog on the entry forms, and thus it does not appear correctly on the running card. Competitors please check your entry forms carefully before sending them in. Acceptance of Runs: Whilst competitors often submit entries for several Field Trials which may overlap, it is not acceptable for them to compete in one Trial whilst still holding onto an acceptance run in a second, overlapping, Trial, as this might deny the run to someone else.
