Instructions Use Please respect the technical limits of the equipment. The apparatus can not be used if any part is missing or damaged. During its use, the monitor must be securely fastened to a fixed ground anchorage with supplied strap. Please respect these instructions to avoid any damage or injury that may be caused by the monitor. (reaction force : about 250 Kgs for 3000 l/min at 7 bar on the branchpipe outlet). Never stand in front of the monitor or point the monitor at somebody. It can cause death. Do not point the monitor to the area between the pump and the monitor s inlet. Do not exceed the maximum setting of 85 and minimum of 35 for vertical range. Please note that use of the monitor may cause damage in the area of the branchpipe horizontal range. Ensure that the area is safe and clear before the use. It is important to know and respect the safety rules regarding your operating environment. The recommended work pressure is 7 bar (100 PSI). The efficiency over this pressure is not guarantee. Do not use the monitor over 16 bar (230 PSI). The equipment can be damaged over the recommended pressure. Disrespect of safety instructions and use of the monitor over the recommended pressure can be dangerous and even cause death. POK SAS is not responsible of any accident that may occur during operation caused by improper use or noncompliance with safety requirements. Limits of use POK guarantees the function of the equipment upto a maximum operating pressure of 16 BAR (230 PSI) POK SAS guarantees the funtion of this equipment upto a maximum test pressure of 25,5 bar (370 PSI) in closed position. Without explicit written authorization from POK, the warranty will be void if the pressures listed above are exceeded. 5

Operating Manual Installation Preamble You must read this documentation before operating the monitor. Non-compliance with the recommendations in this manual could make monitor use dangerous. The water monitor is placed to function at a maximum flow rate of 2000 litres/min at 7 bar pressure. Unfolding - 1 - For using the monitor on the trailer, adjust the legs to the ground to stabilize the trailer (mark. A) and place the monitor on the fastening device until locking the 4 pins (mark. B). - 2 - For using the monitor on the base, unfold the legs forward until locking the pins (mark. C). Place the unit on a firm and flat ground, each leg s pin should touch the ground (mark. D). Mark. A Mark. B Mark. C Mark. D Note : leg s pin must lay on solid and firm ground. The monitor can slide, slip or even take-off in case of soft ground (sand, mud, gravel, etc). /!\ For your safety, fasten the monitor to a secure support with the provided strap /!\ Anchorage The monitor must be properly fastened to a fixed ground anchorage (a drive stake, a solid anchorage on the ground or the supply hose). - 1 - Fasten the supplied strap to the anchorage ring (mark D). - 2 - The monitor, the target and the anchorage must be on the same straight line(mark E). - 3 - The monitor can be fastened to supply hose if you don t have a available solid base (mark F). Mark. D Mark. E Mark. F Pompe 11
Operating Manual Installation Initialization Before connecting the monitor to water supply, turn the vertical adjustment wheel to rise up the outlet pipe. The outlet pipe must be set from 35 to 85. Connecting - 1 - Connect the branchpipe to the outlet coupling (mark. A). - 2 - Connect the supply hoses to the inlet couplings. Please, make sure you have at least 5 meters of straight hoses after the monitor s inlet (mark B). - 3 - Connect the pick-up hose to the suction coupling and immerse the pick-up tube in the emulsifier tank (mark C). 5 m Mark. A R : 20 m mini 5 m Mark. B Mark. C 12
Operating Manual Use Before applying pressure - 1 - Verify that there are no missing or damaged pieces. - 2 - Verify that the nozzle is correctly connected to a water supply. Make sure that there is at least a 5 meter long distance behind the nozzle. - 3 - Check that the outlet equipment is correctly connected. - 4 - When using the trailer, check that the trailer is secured with the kickstands. - 5 - Verify that the support is strong enough to withstand the reaction force and the monitor nozzle is attached to a reliable anchor point, such as the supplied strap. - 6 - Make sure all safety pins are in place. Note : to obtain optimal performance, respect following values : - maximum flow rate : 3000 l/min (790 GPM) - working pressure : 7 bar (100 PSI) /!\ Do not target someone with the monitor /!\ While using a portable monitor, never exceed the maximum setting of 85 and minimum of 35 for vertical range. 35 Never target an area placed in the axis between the pump and the monitor inlet. If your monitor is equipped with a nozzle which has a spray stream position, make sure the area around the monitor is not sensitive to important water projection, before using this position. 13
Operating Manual Set up Vertical position setting The vertical range for this monitor is from +85 to +35. It is not recommended to use the monitor with a adjustment below 35. 85 35 Adjust the monitor by turning the adjustment handwheel (mark A). A safety handle stop the monitor when it reach 35. Pull the safety handle to set the monitor below 35 (mark B). Mark. A Mark. B Horizontal position setting The horizontal range for this monitor is from -90 to +90. 90-1 - Unlock the horizontal adjustment by turning the locking knob. - 2 - Point the monitor to the desired direction by turning the adjustment handwheel. - 3 - Screw the locking knob. 90 14
Maintenance Maintaining the monitor To ensure optimal performance, it is important to: - 1 - Clean the monitor nozzle and foam/water gun with clean water after each use. - 2 - If salt water has been used, use the monitor nozzle with clean water to remove any particles and / or corrosive residues that could damage internal components. - 3 - Do not use corrosive chemicals, it could damage the gaskets and cause leaks. - 4 - Check the operation of moving parts, no part should jam, be damaged and / or be blocked. - 5 - Regularly inspect the unit visually to detect leaks. Lubricating the monitor nozzle It is recommended to grease the monitor every 6 months by using a type EP 02 grease. Connect a grease gun to the grease nipples located near the swivelling parts. You can also on regular basis clean leg s gears, hydraulic jack and all swivel parts and grease them with a brush. 15
Maintenance Returning to Service Procedure It is imperative to check the following before recommissioning the equipment : - 1 - Check that no parts are missing or that no parts have deteriorated. - 2 - Connect the device to a water supply. - 3 - Put a cap equipped with an air valve on the output of the monitor nozzles. - 4 - Test the unit gradually by increasing the pressure up to 16 bar. Check leakages. - 5 - Put the diffuser or the nozzle off the monitor. - 6 - Test under normal conditions of use with a pressure of 7 bar. Make sure that all the parts move smoothly. The operation should last about 10 minutes. If no fault is found the monitor may be operated. Spare Parts Some parts such as gaskets are likely to be changed more or less often depending on the frequency of use, conditions of use or storage. Please contact our sales department for the prices and after sales conditions. Refer to the schedule in this document to identify the replacement parts. Note : The identification number of the monitor may be asked to verify the validity of the warranty. 16
